Pakistani Scientist / Blogger in Nobel team

Adil najamJust a few days back The Nobel Foundation announced its 2007 Nobel Peace Prize and it was doubly shared between Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al-Gore. What has made the headlines all over the globe was Al-Gore’s efforts to make a difference on the Climate Change, but little was heard about the brilliant team of scientists working within the team in the IPCC

The IPCC consists of a large number of scientists across the world of which one happens to be a Pakistani, Prof Dr. Adil Najam. We in the blogoshpere already know Dr. Adil Najam for his outstanding efforts at a very popular Pakistani blog called All Things Pakistan but he also teaches at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, US.

Prof Adil Najam has served as an expert on this prestigious panel for eight years, and as a Convening Lead Author for its most recent report. Along with other scientists on the panel he helped shape the findings of the IPCC, especially on issues related sustainable development and other developing country interests.

Well done Adil Bhai.

*Dreamy* I dream of studying (any kind of) Diplomacy at Tufts :( *Sigh*

Asma, we are just unlucky most of the time, warna there is no doubt that us Pakistanis can do a lot more if given the chance, sans all the negativity that comes from our own people.

Phil, this should be inspiration and motivation for more of us to get involved in things that make the world a better place–both within Pakistan and on the global level. The Teeth Maestro himself is another example of that.
