Aitzaz Ahsan still a threat to the Government

free-aitezaz-ahsan_smaller.jpgI share with you a statement sent to us by Mrs. Ahsan who shares her frustration that her husband has yet again been placed under house arrest for another month starting this New Year. My hat goes off in salute to all those judges and lawyers who made this great sacrifice for the sake of Justice in Pakistan and their ongoing resistance against an illegal dictator and his illegal PCO. It seems the that the recent turn of events has only distracted us from the way Musharraf had ransacked and raped the Judiciary in Pakistan.

I can only look back to say, had if, the Judiciary been independent, then we might have been able to find the culprits involved in the assassination of Mrs. Benazir Bhutto, but sadly it is the irony that she herself was not advocating the restoration of the only credible judiciary, but toeing the line of the illegal & compromising ones. Had if…..

Statement issued by Mrs. Bushra Aitzaz Ahsan

At this moment there is a Quran Khawani for Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed outside our house in Zaman Park in Lahore. The Quran Khawani has been arranged by me but my husband, Aitzaz Ahsan, has not been allowed even to step out of the house and participate in the Quran Khawani. He is detained in our house at No. 5, Zaman Park which has been declared a sub-jail and as of today his detention has been further extended for a period of 30 days. In fact the security and police presence outside our house has been greatly increased and a battalion of policemen guard it now in fear that he may come out and join in the prayer meeting.

My husband was also disallowed from participating first in the funeral and then in the soyem at Naudero. He had formally applied to the Federal Government through the Punjab Government and the jail authorities to go to Naudero but the application was denied. Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan again applied on the 30th December for a reprieve for a mere two hours to join the Quran Khawani outside his house. This request has also been refused.

Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan was arrested on November 03, the day General Musharraf imposed the Emergency. He was initially detained in solitary confinement in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi and then to house arrest in Lahore.

One day before Eid he was released for three days to enable him to celebrate Eid but was re-arrested on the same day at Chakri interchange on the motorway and was manhandled by plainclothes policemen. He was then driven around and about Chakri and Chakwal in the middle of the night in an open police van and brought to Lahore in the morning. The reprieve granted to him was also cancelled.

Due to exposure to extreme cold and sub-zero wind-chill Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan ran high fever with aches and pains for several days but has now recovered.

Ever since he applied to go to Naudero the security around his house has been beefed up. All phone lines were cut and the cell phones of those who reside therein have blocked and jammed after Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan made a condolence call to Mr. Asif Ali Zardari on the day of the funeral.

Meantime, the Federal Government has further extended the detention of Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan for a period of 30 days with effect from 01.01.2008. –end–

He is a wrong man for a wrong nation!

We deserve Sharifu DIn Pirzada’s not Itazaz or Bhutto’s.

What is point of his struggle when nation dont care about freedom, if a million people come out in streets (as they partycipate in prayer in Muzaffargarh) and offer their arrests, Itazaz will be free in no time.

Wish we wake up after 60 years of slavery and prove that we have same blood which was offered for freedom in 1947.

I’m 32 and relieved myself from the Pakistan Army as captain. I’m currently residing in Australia and studying Masters in Professional Accounting (MPA). The main reason for leaving the army was the complete indiscipline among the soldiers, indulgence in gangsterism against civilians in cantonment areas. I do not wish to reveal my rank or name but I was a witness to what happened with Dr. Shazia Khalid. A rogue Captain (Cpt. Hammad) raped Dr. Khalid in the dead of the night at the heavily guarded compound in Baluchistan several years back. He was aided by three army jawans and were made to guard the premises while he raped his victim inside. Mr. Hammad is directly related to Gen (retd.) Musharraf and the latter flatly rejected to carry out any investigation against the culprit. Instead, the victim was accused of lying and ultimately banished from the country. It was during that time, I decided that it is not worth serving under a military that bears distinction with other rogue armies of the world such as India, Yugoslavia and Israel. I retired and moved out at the right time while still young. I agree with your point that this country does not deserve decent people like Aitzaz as no educated and a person having semblance of decency can survive in this God-forsaken land. With national leaders having being killed, and national heros like the CJ, lawyers and nuclear scientist having been put behind bars, Pakistan has been well and truly orphaned. It now awaits its death. Only a miracle could save it but even the hope of that miracle looks no where insight. Goodbye Pakistan. You made me what I am today but unfortunately I may not be able to see you survive in my life time. I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you.

I want to salute Nov 3,judiciary and all those superior courts judges who were brave enough to rise and refused to surrender in front of the dictator. They rose tot he occasion and set an example for the rest of the people to follow. Sadly the nation has died a long time back. Maybe when Mush tookover illegally and no one protested. Media men used to taunt political parties especially PPP and PML N that they were not able to unite. But when the heat was hot for the media in Nov 2007, and electronic media was put to real test by the dictator, everyone saw that it could not unite either. Many channels bowed down to the dictator’s command and signed a new deal with PEMRA.

I salute our judiciary, our brave lawyers and the civil society members who are not accepting defeat and still fighting. They are the flag bearer of our struggle to free our nation of slaves again. Their sacrifices will be remembered for a long time.

Cast your votes in favour of anti Mush forces
    Vote to revive Judciary

There is every likelyhood that if civil society movement gathers some weight military establishment will induct some of its puppets such like JI and some extremist groups in and these elements will hijack entire movement turning it in to something like civil war.

In such situation the world community will support complete military take over (a martial law) once again and our brave generals would proudly save our nation once again from going in to hands of extremists.

    Do you have choices?
