A large police presence in riot gear was also seen surrounding the area but everything remained peaceful. Aitzaz Ahsan came out of the arrival lounge around 8:40pm and was instantly greeted by the awaiting supporters who immediately took him off his feet and carried him to his awaiting car, but before he could depart the awaiting media herded him into a corner to ask a few questions after some time the jubilant crowd celebrated the heros arrival to later give him a rousing send off in the awaiting car. It was a delight to see this hero given a rousing welcome to Karachi.

I took a video of the reception but must apologize for the shaky video as it was the best I could do considering the crowd really pushed hard and it was difficult to maintain a steady footing let alone manage the camera

Mr. Ahsan is clearly a brave soul who has high ideals and stands his ground regardless of adversity. He deserves kudos for demanding independent judiciary and rule of law.
Does anyone know how many of the PPP leaders (top leaders and MNAs/MPAs) showed up to welcome Mr. Ahsan in Sind?

Just for the record, Aitzaz came to Karachi on October 18 to welcome Benazir Bhutto, and was on her truck some time before the bomb attack.

Welocme Aetezaz to Karachi. People of Karachi are happy of the warm welcome accorded to you. You are our hero and we hope that you will soon pay attention to the sufferings of the people of this great city who being oppressed by fanatics and ethinic goondas. Even they are not free to cast their votes independantly. Please do not forget what happened in Quaid’s city Karachi on May 12, 2007. You must be well aware of the culprits and to whose camp they belonged. I hope that once the Pre Nov 3 Juiciary has been revived Insha Allah, Mr Justice Choudhry Iftekhar will pay attention to the May 12, 2007 carnage.

This is a binding upon judiciary and the lawyers movment. MQM is shouting against the revival of judiciary for the same reason as it knows that many of their leaders, specially then Interior Minster, may land behind the bars if indeoendant judiciary tookup the matter in their own hands.
