[MiniLinks] Mad Dog Palin : Rolling Stone Magazine

Rolling Stone magazine does a very interesting editorial. which boasts a very worrisome cartoon depicting McCain and Palin to say “The scariest thing about John McCain’s running mate isn’t how unqualified she is – it’s what her candidacy says about America” – the dirtiest jab was when they said “Not only is Sarah Palin a fraud, she’s the tawdriest, most half-assed fraud imaginable, 20 floors below the lowest common denominator, a character too dumb even for daytime TV” Ouch!

I dislike Palin’s politics and I doubt I would like her in person, but Taibbi’s article made me embarrassed to be on his “side”: it was third-rate Hunter S. Thompson, and went far beyond legitimate complaints about Palin or Republicans to insult her for having several kids. Liberals would rightfully be outraged by a conservative columnist who referred to a welfare single mother of five kids as a mindless baby machine, but that kind of talk is OK when applied to a married couple supporting their family?

The general trend of this blog has been that we never censor comments based on political or ideological point of view. But to bring a little sanity in the debate we strongly frown upon comments that are abusive, off-topic, use foul language, resort to racial attacks, use caps-locks, habitual flamers are shown the door especially those commenters who resort to ad hominem attacks are definitely deleted when caught. Simply said, if you can carry a civilized discussion then the floor is open to your hearts desire. But, we still reserve the right to delete any comment that we deem inappropriate without reason
