Open letter to citizens of Sri Lanka

Published in Daily News (Sri Lanka)

Sri Lanka FlagThis letter is our expression of deep sorrow and grief at the savage attacks on the Sri Lankan cricket team while they were touring our country. As Pakistani citizens, we are shocked, angered, and greatly embarrassed at being the source of such anxiety to the people of Sri Lanka. There never can be a justification for such horrendous acts of violence, and the Pakistani nation strongly condemns this evil act.

The dastardly attacks were carried out by miscreants who do not share the common values that the peaceful citizens of both Sri Lanka and Pakistan cherish and uphold. Pakistan has been the victim of many terrorist attacks in the last few years, and it is evident that this cowardly act was another attempt to cause increased turmoil and chaos in a country that is already suffering through a period of extreme violence and anarchy.

We therefore thank the Sri Lankan team for agreeing to play in Pakistan even when other countries refused citing security concerns. In hindsight, those apprehensions seem very valid, but the courage of the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and players in agreeing to play is laudable, and the nation of Pakistan shall be forever indebted to your country. This tour was crucial for the revival of cricket in Pakistan, and we greatly appreciate your efforts in agreeing to be a part of this process.

Our two nations have always enjoyed close cricketing ties. Lahore, the city of this massacre, is the same town that witnessed the Sri Lankan team under Arjuna Ranatunga proudly win the cricket World Cup in 1996. The Pakistani fans cheerfully celebrated alongside Sri Lanka, for this was the victory of a close friend against the Australians who had been notoriously harassing South Asian cricketers. It is, now, of course, deeply distressing that the sport of cricket, which has always been the source of such joy to the people of Pakistan, is the cause of our humiliation today.

In the long tradition of jovial relations this comes as moment of disbelief and grief for Pakistanis. We have failed to protect perhaps the only team that had braved to enter our territory.

The only consolation in this episode is that all of the players survived. We sincerely pray for the swift recovery of Mahela Jayawardena, Thilan Samaraweera, Tharanga Paranavitana, Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Suranga Lakmal, Chaminda Vaas and Paul Farbrace, and hope that they are able to return to cricket soon.

We express our appreciation for the remarks of the Sri Lankan Government and Foreign Ministry, forever solidifying the bonds between our nations. The Pakistani Foreign Office also reaffirmed today that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Sri Lanka, and we endorse this statement and look forward to extending this close friendship. In times of great distress, our allegiance to one another is what sustains us, and the Sri Lankan commitment to friendship with Pakistan displays the benevolent spirit of your nation.

Our nation expresses pride at the bravery of the van driver who, according to Kumar Sangakkara, heroically managed to deliver the players to safety. Tribute must be paid to the six Pakistani police officers who sacrificed their lives while trying to protect the Sri Lankan team.

Citizens of Sri Lanka, we share your grief. We are all one today.

    SM imran HZ!

I did not want to post further in this issue but i was shocke to see how cunningly and sacrigiously you mannipulated the Quran e kareem aahadith e mubarika.

also amazingly i found you master in mixing up different issues. like fadak, namaz, and hazrat abu bakr siddiq (ra).can't you just pick a particular subject and discuss it? one issue at the moment?

what made me compelled your derogatory viws of the most exalted person after Nabee e kareem(ra).

its shocking to see that you gone so far in the enmity of sahaba e kiram (RAs) that you couldn't hold yourself from twisting and manipulating the Quran and Hadith.

please do not go so far and allow me to present some Quranic verses and Ahadith mubarika in the highness of Hazrat abu bakr siddiq (ra)

There are many Qura'nic verses about the exaltation of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R) one is in chapter Tauba: "Verily, Allah gives him support, when infidels expelled him."

About a verse in chapter Zammer: "And who brought forward the true verse and that when believed it truth those are pious," Hazrat Ali (R) said that prophet (PBUH) is indicated by words 'who brought forward the true verse and the one who testified it is Hazrat Abu Bakr (R)."

Among all the people, he was called "Al-Atiq," the most pious, delivered from the punishments of the fire.

Besides, there are many Hadiths in praise of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R). The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"Had I made anyone my friend except Allah, I would have chosen Abu Bakr (R).

"What ever Allah poured into my heart, I poured into the heart of Abu Bakr."

    The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:

"Whenever I offered Islam to anyone, he always showed some reluctance and hesitation and tried to enter into an argument. Abu Bakr (R) was the only person who accepted Islam without any doubt or hesitation, and without any argument."

"Allah will show His glory to the people in a general way, but He will show it to Hazrat Abu Bakr (R) in a special way."

"Never was anything revealed to me that I did not pour into the heart of Abu Bakr."

"There is no one to whom I am obligated and have not repaid my debt except Abu Bakr, for I owe him much for which Allah will compensate him on the Day of Judgment."

"Hazrat Abu Bakr (R) does not precede you because of much prayer or fasting, but because of a secret that is in his heart."

Bukhari narrates from Ibn Umar, who said: "In the time of the Prophet (PBUH) we were not recognising anyone higher than Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (R), then Umar(R), then Usman(R)."

He freed seven slaves before leaving Mecca. He not only spent large amounts to buy them freedom but he then took them into his own household and educated them.

the holy Prophet had the Miraj of Ascension. One night the angel Gabriel came with the word that Allah the Almighty wanted the holy Prophet to come all the way up to the highest heaven. The holy Prophet undertook the journey.

In the morning, after the ascension had taken place, the holy Prophet talked to people about the Miraj. This drew the jeers of his enemies.

"Look!" the howled out, "what nonsense he talks! Surely, now his followers too will laugh at him. Who is going to believe in such a midsummer night dream?"

The talk was going on when Abu Bakr came up. "Do you know, Abu Bakr, what news your friend has for you in the morning?" said one of the mean. "He says he was on the highest heaven last night, having a talk with Allah, the Almighty. Would you believe it?" "I would believe anything that the Messenger of Allah says," replied Abu Bakr When the holy Prophet learnt of this, he at once said, "Abu Bakr is the `Siddiq'." `Siddiq' is a person so sincere of heart that doubts never mar his love. Abu Bakr earned this title because of his faith was too strong to be shaken by anything.

    dr. Jawwad,

These shias are reaping the fruits of war against Islam. I wish sunnis knew their real face.

They are back-stabbers to the core. They would deny Quran and ahadith and follow the fabricated stories of their retarded Sistanis and Khamnaees and grave-worshippers.

They fabricate lies upon lies and in this dajjali fitna, they are becoming the Heroes and the heroes are now termed as villains.

They are the children of Abdullah bin Saba, who pretended that he embraced Islam just to divide the Muslims. Their sect started based on hate for Sahaba, hypcracy and back-stabbing. So what can we expect?

    @Jawad:

    Pulled a nerve didnt I?

I did not manipulate any hadith; i have given references by your own books regarding fidak and the iman of abu bakr; if they were shia books you could have raised a valid point that i am biased. Do you deny the existence of ahadith i mentioned in your books?

All of your ahadith dont change the fact that abu bakr burnt down the door on Fatima AS and stole fidak which was the property of Muhammad SAW which was meant as a gift for Fatima AS and called her a liar; and umar denied the dying Prophet SAW a pen and paper regards to which i even referenced an ayat that you should not turn you back on the Prophet SAW. Make up your own mind; ill not waste more of your time.

    @Wasey:

You back your claims from jewish websites; do you even take your fiqh from them? You should probably move to haifa or telaviv.

We war against Islam? Last time i checked your respected yazid lanti and muawia lanati were the ones who forcefully wanted baiat from Imam Hussain AS. They are nothing but ghasibeen and your sahaba paved the way for them and are their accomplices.

    @SM imran HZ!

what are you trying to tell that these ahadith are false(nauz u billah)? or

Nabee e Kareem(saaw) was cheated (nauz o billah) by His companions who were dearer to Nabi e Kareem(saa) whom they trusted, who passed toughest tests,ALLAW(swt) took.

please do not try to dodge the issue.say it loud and clear.

"Fadak was neither inheritance nor a gift. This was exactly the position of Hazrat Ali(ra). When he became the Khalifah he did not treat Fadak as the estate of his deceased wife Sayyidah Fatimah, by taking a quarter for himself and distributing the remaining three quarters between , Husayn and Umm Kulthum according to the rule “to the male twice the share of the female”. This is an established fact of history. Why is Abu Bakr execrated for something which was also done by ‘Ali? In fact, Sayyid Murtada (known as ‘Alam al-Huda) narrates in his book on Imamah entitled ash-Shafi, that when ‘Ali became the khalifah he was approached about returning Fadak. His reply was: “I am ashamed before Allah to overturn something that was prohibited by Abu Bakr and continued by ‘Umar.” (al-Murtada, ash-Shafi fil-Imamah, p. 231; and Ibn Abil Hadid, Sharh Nahj al-Balaghah, vol. 4)

Hmm i wouldnt validate the website you have taken references from. It is a wahabi site full of misinformation and wrong references from nahjul balagha and other shia books. You're better off taking references from http://www.al-islam.org

I shall prove to you that Umar turned his back on the Prophet SAW and that Fidak was the property of Prophet SAW and was gifted to Fatima AS

    ————————

Surah Mujadilah verses 12-13 "Perform Salat (Prayer), give Zakat and Obey Allah and his Prophet"

Surah Nur verse 54 "Obey Allah and his Prophet and if you dispute, then on him is what is imposed on him, and on you is what is imposed on you; and if you obey him you are guided aright; and there is no duty on the Prophet save the clear delivery".

Surah Aal-e-Imran verse 32 Say, "Obey Allah and the Prophet, but if they turn back, then verily Allah does not love the disbelievers"

Surah Anfal verse 20: "O ye who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him when ye hear (him speak)."

Surah Anfal verse 46 "And obey Allah and His Messenger and do not quarrel."

Surah Nisa verse 80 "He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds)

Surah AL-AHZAB, verse 36: "It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path"

Surah Nisa verse 65 "But no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make thee judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against Thy decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction."

Surah Nisa verse 59 "O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination."

    Now Read this———————————-

    Narrated 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah:

Ibn 'Abbas said, "When the ailment of the Prophet became worse, he said, 'Bring for me (writing) paper and I will write for you a statement after which you will not go astray.' But 'Umar said, 'The Prophet is seriously ill, and we have got Allah's Book with us and that is sufficient for us.' But the companions of the Prophet differed about this and there was a hue and cry. On that the Prophet said to them, 'Go away (and leave me alone). It is not right that you should quarrel in front of me." Ibn 'Abbas came out saying, "It was most unfortunate (a great disaster) that Allah's Apostle was prevented from writing that statement for them because of their disagreement and noise.

    See Fath Al-Bari Vol. 1 Book 3, Number 114

Long story short; Umar turned his back to the Prophet SAW and did not give the Prophet SAW a pen and paper to write his will.

WHAT WAS THE STATUS, ACCORDING TO SHARIA, OF FADAK?

"Ghanimah is that property (or money), in which Muslims had worked to get it, while Fay is that property (or money), in which Muslims didn't have to ride the horses and camels."

Tafseer Kabeer, v8, p125, and Tafseer Muraghi, under the commentary of Surah Hashar (sunni sources)

i.e. was the land of fadak either "fay", or was it "ghanimah"?

    Lets look at the quran————–

[59.6] And whatever Allah restored to His Apostle from them you did not press forward against it any horse or a riding camel (for example fadak, which was won without fighting) but Allah gives authority to His apostles against whom He pleases, and Allah has power over all things.

so…fay is something which is won without fighting.

WHAT WAS FADAK AND HOW WAS IT WON?

"When the Prophet (s) returned from Khayber, he sent Muhisa bin Masood to propagate Islam to the people of Khayber. The leader of the Jews of Khayber at that time was Yusha bin Nun. The people of Fadak refused to accept Islam, but offered to give them half of their Land of Fadak. The Prophet (s) took half the land and allowed them to live there. This half Land of Fadak was property of the Prophet (s), as the Muslims didn't ride horses over it".

History of Tabari, v3, p1583 (amongst others)

    —————————————

WAS FADAK OWNED BY THE PROPHET, OR WAS IT PUBLIC PROPERTY?

Sahih Muslim Book 019, Number 4347:

It has been narrated on the authority of Umar, who said: The properties abandoned by Banu Nadir were the ones which Allah bestowed upon His Apostle for which no expedition was undertaken either with cavalry or camelry. These properties were particularly meant for the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him). He would meet the annual expenditure of his family from the income thereof, and would spend what remained for purchasing horses and weapons as preparation for Jihad

    ——————————————–

    DO PROPHETS LEAVE INHERITANCE?

[17.26] And give to the near of kin his due and (to) the needy and the wayfarer, and do not squander wastefully.

now, shall we see if the prophet gave fadak to bibi paak while he was alive, as a gift, proving that abu bakr confiscated fidak from Fatima AS

"Abu Saeed al Khudri and Abdullah Ibn Abbas narrate that when the verse relating to giving rights to kindred was revealed, the Prophet called Fatima Zahra and gifted the land of Fadak to her".

    Tafseer Dur al-Manthur, Vol. 4, page 177

    ———————

I have shown you through your own books that fidak was the property of the Prophet SAW and abu bakr usurped the land from Fatima AS and called her a liar.

    For you Wasey:

    The Condition of Deficiency:

Simple Ignorance: This disease is caused by a deficiency of the Power of Intellect in the individual, and is said to exist when the individual lacks knowledge and learning, but is aware of his ignorance. This is in contrast to `compound ignorance'-a state in which one not only does not realize his ignorance but considers himself to be knowledgeable.

It is obvious that the treatment of `simple ignorance' is easier than that of `compound ignorance'. In order to cure `simple ignorance' all that is necessary is to examine the evil consequences of ignorance, and realize the fact that man's distinction over the rest of animals lies in knowledge and learning. In addition to this, he should note the importance of learning and knowledge as attested by reason and also Revelation. The consequence of such contemplation and reflection would be an automatic desire for learning. He must pursue this desire with the greatest ardour, and not allow the smallest speck of hesitation or doubt to enter into his mind.

    About Taqayya:

    Ammar bin Yasir

In the very beginning of Islam, the Quraishites brutally martyred Yasir and his wife Sumaiyah just because of their faith. They were the first martyrs of Islam. When the parents were killed, Ammar pretended to renounce Islam, and thus saved his life. Someone told the Prophet that Ammar had become kafir. The Prophet said: "Never; verily the flesh and blood of 'Ammar is saturated with true faith." Then Ammar came to the Holy Prophet bitterly weeping that he had to utter evil words against Islam so that he could slip away from the clutches of the infidels. The Prophet asked him; `How did you find your heart?" Ammar said: "Steadfast in Faith". The Holy Prophet told him not to worry and advised him to repeat those words if the infidels again asked him to do so.

And it was not only the Holy Prophet who liked the choice of Ammar (ra). Even Allah confirmed his action in this verse:

He who disbelieves in Allah after his belief in Him (is the liar) except he who is compelled while his heart remains steadfast with the faith (has nothing to worry). But he who opens his breast for infidelity, on these is the wrath of Allah, and for them is a great torment. Quran (16:106)

All commentaries of the Qur’an narrate that it was revealed concerning the above incident of Ammar.

    (a) as‑Suyuti, Tafsir ad‑Durru 'l‑manthur, vol. 4, p. 132;

    (b) ar‑Razi, Tafsir Mafatihu l‑ghayb;

    (c) az‑Zamakhshari, Tafsir al‑Kashshaf, Beirut, vol. 2, p. 43c).

Practically all books of Tafsir describe this event under this verse.

Let not the believers take the disbelievers as their friends rather than the believers; whoso shall do this then he has no relation with Allah except when you have to guard Yourselves against them for fear from them; but Allah cautions you of Himself for unto Allah is the end of your journey. Say, whether you conceal what is in your hearts or manifest it, Allah knows it; and He knows all that is in the heavens and all that is‑in the earth; and verily Allah has power over all things. Bring me something from http://www.al-islam.com otherwise you will be just spreading lies and slander; which is not befitting for the status of a muslim.

Muta was permitted in the time of the Prophet SAW; it was Umar who banned it. Why did he change the shariat of Muhammad SAW? Why are the saudis running a parallel system of mizyar then?

It is nowhere written in our books nor do we believe that the Imams can change the deen or change the halal haram of the deen of Muhammad SAW. This is only propagated by your wahabi filth who have nothing but hatred for shias.

I have written about taqayyah in the above post. Was Ammar bin Yasir held to be a kafir by the Prophet SAW? Did you even take the time to read it or just came and blindly made another comment using prewritten notes saved in your pc under the names of "Propaganda against shias"?

About wilayat; i wouldnt do justice by writing a few lines

    Read:

    An Excerpt——————

"Wilãyat," derived from wilã', means power, authority or a right of certain kind. In Shí'a theology, "wilãyat" is the authority invested in the Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt as representatives of Almighty Allãh on this earth.

According to the late Murtaza Mutahhari, wilãyat has four dimensions:

The right of love and devotion (wilã'-e muhabbat): This right places the Muslims under the obligation of loving the Ahlul Bayt.

The authority in spiritual guidance (wilã'-e imãmat): This reflects the power and authority of the Ahlul Bayt in guiding their followers in spiritual matters.

The authority in socio-political guidance (wilã'-e zi'ãmat): This dimension of wilãyat reflects the right that the Ahlul Bayt have to lead the Muslims in social and political aspects of life.

The authority of the universal nature (wilã'-e tasarruf): This dimension reflects universal power over the entire universe that the Prophet and Ahlul Bayt have been vested with by the grace of Almighty Allãh

First abu bakr (ra) and then umar farooq(ra) and what next?

Its seems that you are such a blind folded by your religious prejudice that no one,not even ahadith e mubarika can change your mind.

And You will never realize that the fundamental questions will be always there that:

“ IF HAZART E SHAIKHEN WERE NOT SINCERE THEN WHY ALLAH(SWT) DID NOT INFORMED NABEE E KAREEM(SAWW) ABOUT THAT?

WHY THEY GOT HIGHEST POSITION AFTER NABEE E KAREEM(SAWW)?

WHY THERE ARE SO MANY AHADITH ABOUT THEIR SERVICES AND THEIR HIGHER LEVEL AMONG MOST DEVOTED SAHABA E KARAM?

Well bear! faith is faith.there are billions of people who worship even the aninmal it is there faith. The faith of sunni is based on quran and sunnah.which is supported by history.

Let me tell you about hazrat umar farooq (ra) in the light of history and hadith

"If anyone want to make his children Orphan and wife as a widow, do stop us!".

These are the words of hazrat umar farooq (ra) when he embraced islam.his embracing of islam was one of the most crucial event in Islamic history. ALLAH(SWT) gave NABEE E KAREEM (saaw) the strength by umar farooq(ra)The misHoly Prophet

The mission of RASOOL E KAREEM(saww) was still on initial stages and islam was weak.chiefs of Makkah were against islam.one night Nabee e kareem(saww) stood in front of kaaba and prayed:

Lord! Make islam strong with either of the two men,amr bin hasham or umar bin khattab.it is impossible to mention his services for Nabee e kareem(saww) and islam in just one page

Hazrat Umar Farooq (r.a) earned the title of "Al-Farooq" (the one who makes the clear difference between Right and Wrong) from the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). He participated in all the battles of Islam with Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w).

History notes that He donated his half of the property when being asked for by Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) in the way of ALLAH. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) noted and said many times that it looks, Umar speaks and Quran is bestowed upon. Few examples of ALLAH's rule are; Hijab, offering 2 prayers as "Nafal" at "Baab-e-Ibrahim" in Kaaba, solution for the prisoners of Badr, not to offer Duua on "Munafiq" grave etc…. Hazrat Umar Farooq (r.a) passed his great Caliphate of approximately 10 years after the death of Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a). His Caliphate is the most popular and memorable Caliphate according to fair and just amongst all others.

Do you know what Prophet Muhammad (saww) said about hazrat umar (ra)

    1. I see that devil either from humans or jinn, runs away from Umar. (Tirimzi)

    2. I saw in a dream that I was given a bowl of milk which I drunk and remaining I gave it to Umar. (Tirimzi)

    3. No doubt, ALLAH has issue truth, on the tongue and in the heart of Umar. (Tirimzi)

    4. I saw a dream that I am in the Heaven, there I saw Rameesa (my quilt aunt) and I heard someone's footstep, I asked: who is this?. I was answered: it is Bilal and I saw a palace with a handmaid standing in front of it, I asked: whose palace is this?. She said: Umar bin Khattab's. I wished to see it from inside but, Oh Umar!, I divided my attention from your shame. Hazrat Umar (r.a) said: My father and mother be sacrificed upon You, should I ponder from Your saying?. (Bukhari)

    5. If some else Prophet should have been proposed by ALLAH after me, would have been Umar bin Khattab. (Tirimzi)

Its funny to see that you gave so much refrences from Quran e kareem which can not be applied on Hazrat umar farooq(ra)

And hadith you quoted about umar farooq was incomplete I quote it again.

“Narrated 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah: Ibn 'Abbas said, "When the ailment of the Prophet became worse, he said, 'Bring for me (writing) paper and I will write for you a statement after which you will not go astray.' But 'Umar said, 'The Prophet is seriously ill, and we have got Allah's Book with us and that is sufficient for us.' But the companions of the Prophet differed about this and there was a hue and cry. (Note: It is apparent from this Hadith that Ibn 'Abbes had witnessed the event and came out saying this statement. The truth is not so, for Ibn 'Abbas used to say this statement on narrating the Hadith and he had not witnessed the event personally. See Fath Al-Bari Vol. 1, p.220 footnote.) (See Hadith No. 228, Vol. 4).

See. How far you went in the enmity of exalted Hazrat e shaikhen(ra).

In last I would like to say you have a bad perception about HAZRAT E SHAIKHEN(RA) a perception which is highly offensive and against quran and hadith.

If you want to remain stuck to your beliefs. Fine! We do not have a problem with that but please do not try to twist the meaning of quran and sunnah for this loathsome goal.

And do not express your belief in public because they are highly reverd and loved personalities after nabee e kareem(saww) I can understand the reason why shia hate some sahaba e kiram(ra) but sunnis can not tolerate the derisive and derogatory approach against these people.

    Ihope

    @Jawad:

We would not have such a problem with the particular sahaba if they would not have been the ghasibeen of the huqooq of the Ahl-e-Bait.

Also; why is there a hue and cry from the sunnis when we put up ayats in praise of Ali AS which have been confirmed through sunni sources as well? As much as you love your sahabas; we love the Ahl-e-Bayt too. As you have ahadith praising them; so do we in praise of the Ahl-e-Bayt. Confirming the source and the validity of the ahadith is a totally different issue. You do not accept our sources while we do not accept yours; that is a matter of debate among people who have more knowledge than you and me; but to come and provoke people; spread slander and lies relating to us shias from wahabi/salafi/nasibi propaganda websites and issue takfirs and insulting the maraje who by the way are more far more knowledgeable in Islam than the ones insulting them have spent most of their life striving for Islam. What Yousef and Wasey and the other guy did really shows the level of information the sunnis hold about shias.

What is really more sad that these kinds of people totally discredit the shias from absolutely everything and spread lies about the start of shiism (with reference to the wahabi concoction of abudullah bin sabah). It is really sad and shocking.

They downplay Iran as aides of the Israelis (Yousef was the first one who provoked this discussion in the first place). They and their children (Hezbollah) have kept the Americans and the Israelis at bay. Why cant sunnis accept the fact that shias are majority in these countries (Iraq, Iran, Bahrain and soon Lebanon)? Their hatred for Shias and Iran is due to pure jealousy.

Also; the main points of contention with us shias lies in some basic points which are used by the wahabis in generating propaganda and have websites like shia.islamicweb.com which is a well known anti shia site; which almost every sunni debatist uses. If you want information regarding us; why dont you ask us? Referring to anti shia websites and blatantly copy pasting it on public forums will lead to a flame war; just like what happened here.

    1. Wilayat and the Successorship of Ali AS

    2. Masumiat of the Ahl-e-Bayt

    3. Muta

    4. Taqayyah

    5. Tabarrah

Wilayah and the insistence of the Masumiat is a topic on its own and as I previously said that writing 4 or 5 lines does not do justice to the subject. Therefore I have included a link so that you could read and make up your own mind. We do not force our views down your throats like the wahabis (taliban) try do with shias and non-muslims; rather let you make up your own mind about it.

Wahabis generally regard muta as zina (nauzubillah) while they have a system of their own called mizyar in place in saudi arabia. Why is that they have altered the deen of Muhammad SAW? Muta was considered halal at the time of Holy Prophet SAW and has ayas in the Quran and ahadith supporting it. It was in the time of Umar that muta was declared haraam. Why did he change the shariat? You accuse us of making changes in deen.

Tabarrah is another issue; we do not regard muawia and yazid as khalifas and they were ghasibeen and murdered the grandsons of the Prophet SAW by forcefully asking baiyat from them. Even Allah sends lanat in the Quran. Surah Tauba does not have Bismillah; why? Allah SWT being the Most Merciful says that he is not Merciful for those who have committed and indulged in wrong doings. Yes we do send lanat but do not indulge in dirtying our tongues; lanat is just asking Allah SWT to retrach his mercy from the wrong doers.

I have given you a reference for taqayyah in a post above where Ammar bin Yasir had to lie and hide his faith to save his life. I have even given a reference from Quran which says that that he who is compelled while his heart remains steadfast with the faith has nothing to worry. Did Prophet SAW proclaim him a a kafir?

Us believing in Taqayyah does not mean that we shias indulge in lying about absolutely everything everyday. Taqayyah has its rules and is only valid in the matter of faith where you have a fear of loss of limb to your life.

    ——-

So my friend; spreading slander and lies doesnt help. Pick up our books and see what they say; its not like they'll brainwash you. Make up your own mind regarding matters of faith.

    WSalam.

how a muslim can curse on aehl e bait?

    its beyond my imagination.

there are people who certainly support yazeed and hazrat ameer muawiyah(ra) against hazrat ali(ra) and hazrat imam hussain(ra) but no body curse them. and tell me how many people are they? you can count on fingers. i know just two of them.but they also do not curse aehl e bait.

and can you tell me why the concept of aehl e bait is reserved for "aal e ali(ra)". there were 11 umhat ulmomineen(ra), there were "aal e aqeel" there were "aal e jaafir"

can you please tell me why such a big group can not be labeled as "aaehle bait"

    @Jawad:

One would not curse the Ahl-e-Bayt; as it would directly put them out of the fold Islam. The point I am trying to raise is that many people try to undermine the status of the Ahl-e-Bayt by spreading wahabi propaganda.

Answering why the Ahl-e-Bait does not include the Wives of the Prophet SAW. It does but in a different manner.

The term "family of the prophet" can be applied on three kinds of relationships:

Those who are related to the prophet by blood or marriage ties only.

Those who are related to the prophet by soul and spirit only.

Those who are related to the prophet by blood or marriage ties as well as by soul and spirit

The first group is only physically related to the Prophet but not spiritually, like the son of Prophet Nûh or the wife of Prophet Lût or Abu Lahab, the Prophet's uncle. Allãh clearly says to Prophet Nûh about his son: "Innahu laysa min ahlik – He is not of your family." (11:45-46) That is, he is not one of your spiritual family; he is only physically related to you. Lût's wife and the Prophet's uncle, Abu Lahab, both are counted as people of the Hell-Fire.

The second category is considered "Ahlul Bayt" only in a metaphorical sense, not in the real meaning; for example, Salmãn al-Fãrsi about whom the Prophet said, "Salmãn is from us, the Ahlul Bayt." This leaves us with the third group.

Many people were related to the Prophet both by blood and marriage as well as by soul and spirit. But the term "Ahlul Bayt" as used by the Qur'ãn and the Prophet does not apply to all of them. We see that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) clearly applied the Qur'ãnic term "Ahlul Bayt" to four people: Fãtima, 'Ali, Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them all).

The first verse (33:33) is of purification (tathír):

"Verily Allãh intends to keep away the abomination from you, O the Ahlul Bayt, and purify you a thorough purification."

No Muslim would question the inclusion of Fãtima, 'Ali, Hasan and Husayn in the "Ahlul Bayt". The disagreement arises in the inclusion of the wives and other Hashimite relatives of the Prophet among the "Ahlul Bayt". For example, during our time, a book has been published in Saudi Arabia entitled as 'Allimu Awlãdakum Hubb Ãl-i Bayti 'n-Nabi (Teach Your Children the Love of the Family of the Prophet) by Dr. Muhammad 'Abduh Yamãni in 1991.[77] The order in which Yamãni talks about the Prophet's family is very interesting: he first talks about Khadija, then Fatima, 'Ali, Hasan, Husayn, Zaynu 'l-'Ãbidyn, and then ends with the other wives of the Prophet.

Wilfred Madelung makes the following observation on the verse of purification: "Who are the 'people of the house' here? The pronoun referring to them is in the masculine plural, while the preceding part of the verse is in the feminine plural. This change of gender has evidently contributed to the birth of various accounts of a legendary character, attaching the latter part of the verse to the five People of the Mantle (ahl al-kisã'): Muhammad, 'Ali, Fãtima, Hasan and Husayn. In spite of the obvious Shí'ite significance, the great majority of the reports quoted by al-Tabari in his commentary on this verse support this interpretation."[78]

From the many reports that the Sunni sources narrated, here I am just quoting one as an example. Abu Sa'íd al-Khudari quotes Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet in whose house the incident of Kisã' took place. She says: Jibra'íl came with the verse of purification; the Prophet called Hasan, Husayn, Fãtima and 'Ali, and he gathered them together and covered them with the mantle. Then he said, "O Allãh, these are my Ahlul Bayt, so 'keep away the abomination from the Ahlul Bayt, and purify them thoroughly.'" Umm Salama (may Allãh be pleased with her) said, "Am I with them, O Apostle of Allãh?" The Prophet said, "You stay in your place, and you are virtuous."[79]

Since this verse is situated right in the midst of the verses addressed to the wives of the Prophet, some Sunnis use its position to include the wives in the "Ahlul Bayt". But the problem with their interpretation is the difference in the pronouns: the sentences before and after the verse of purification have feminine plural pronouns whereas the statement itself has the masculine plural pronouns. This is internal evidence that the statement of purification was an independent verse that was revealed on its own in a different event unrelated to the wives.

In spite of the great majority of reports by Sunnis supporting the view that this part of the verse was a separate revelation that was later attached to the rest, Madelung has difficulty in accepting it as such. In his interpretation, he has tried to apply the term 'Ahlul Bayt' primarily to the Bani Hãshim and then, in the second place, to the wives. But he has failed to explain the gender difference in the pronouns used in the whole passage.

The Shí'ite and Sunni reports clearly apply the term "Ahlul Bayt" in the statement of purification to the Ahlul Kisã', excluding the wives of the Prophet. And the gender difference in the pronouns was to show the contrast between the "Ahlul Bayt" and the wives. In words of Mirza Mahdi Puya, "While the address in the beginning of the verse is in the feminine gender – there is the transition here in the address from the feminine to the masculine gender. While referring to the consorts of the Holy Prophet, the pronouns also are consistently feminine. For a mixed assembly of men and women, generally the masculine gender is used. This transition in the grammatical use of the language, makes it quite obvious that this clause is quite a different matter used for a different group other than the previous one, and has been suitably placed here to show a comparative position of the Ahlu 'l-bayt in contrast to the wives of the Holy Prophet

Another important verse of the Qur'ãn that talks about the Ahlul Bayt is 42:23 in which Allãh, subhãnahu wa ta'ãla, says:

"(O Muhammad) Say, 'I do not ask for any reward for this (bringing of Allãh's message) except the love for the near kinship.'"

The fact that this verse was revealed concerning the Ahlul Bayt, the family of the Prophet, is beyond any doubt. Imam Shãfí'i, the founder of the Sunni Shãfí'í school of law, has explained the meaning of this verse in a poem:

O Ahlul Bayt of the Messenger of Allãh, your love,

Is a duty from Allãh, mentioned in the Qur'ãn.

In your honour, it is sufficient that one's prayer,

Is incomplete without praying for blessings on you.[81]

The Sunni polemicists have tried to reject the Shí'a point of view by the following arguments: (1) This verse was revealed in Mecca when Hasan and Husayn were not yet born, so how could it be applied on the Ahlul Bayt in the sense of Ahlul Kisã'? (2) Since it was revealed in Mecca, it is addressing the Quraysh by asking them 'to love Muhammad because he is from their kinship.' (3) Some say that it refers to all the Hashimites, and not just the Ahlul Bayt in the Shí'i definition.

First of all, the commentators of the Qur'ãn overwhelmingly state that even though chaper 42 is a Meccan surah, its verses 23-25, 27 were revealed in Medina. This makes the first and second arguments mentioned above baseless.

Secondly, the commandment asking for "love of the kinship of the Prophet" cannot apply to all of his kin because there were good as well as evil people among them; and so one has to restrict the import of this verse to those who were physically as well as spiritually connected to the Prophet. And no one can argue that 'Ali, Fãtimah, Hasan, and Husayn were not among those who were physically as well as spiritually related to the Prophet, even though he might extend this title to other members of Hashimite.

Finally, there are many reports in Sunni sources in which the Prophet applies this verse to the Ahlu 'l-Kisã'. For example, when this verse was revealed, the people asked the Prophet: "Who are these near kin of yours whose love is obligatory upon us?" He replied, "'Ali, Fãtima, and their two sons." He repeated this three times

Then he said, "O Allãh, these are my Ahlul Bayt, so 'keep away the abomination from the Ahlul Bayt, and purify them thoroughly.'" Umm Salama (may Allãh be pleased with her) said, "Am I with them, O Apostle of Allãh?" The Prophet said, "You stay in your place, and you are virtuous.

So the wives are the Ahl-e-Bayt but in a different manner as written at the top of the post.

Are you satisfied with the references about Muta and Taqayyah?

You have not answered questions I raised about the legitimacy of the mizyar system so called "friendship marriage" in saudi arabia which does not have any basis in Quran and Hadith; and why majority of the sunnis keep turning a blind eye to this blatant biddat in the deen of Muhammad SAW while condemning Muta as zina nauzubillah which is supported by the Quran itself?

    Narrated Aisha:

One day the Prophet (PBUH&HF) came out afternoon wearing a black cloak (upper garment or gown; long coat), then al-Hasan Ibn Ali came and the Prophet accommodated him under the cloak, then al-Husain came and entered the cloak, then Fatimah came and the Prophet entered her under the cloak, then Ali came and the Prophet entered him to the cloak as well. Then the Prophet recited: "Verily Allah intends to keep off from you every kind of uncleanness O' People of the House (Ahlul-Bayt), and purify you a perfect purification (the last sentence of Verse 33:33).

  25. SM Imran HZ Avatar

Here is another authentic variation of "The Tradition of Cloak" which is related to Safiyya who was another wife of the Prophet (PBUH&HF). Ja'far Ibn Abi Talib narrated:

When the Messenger of Allah noticed that a blessing from Allah was to descent, he told Safiyya (one of his wives): "Call for me! Call for me!" Safiyya said: "Call who, O the Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Call for me my Ahlul-Bayt who are Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husain." Thus we sent for them and they came to him. Then the Prophet (PBUH&HF) spread his cloak over them, and raised his hand (toward sky) saying: "O Allah! These are my family (Aalee), so bless Muhammad and the family (Aal) of Muhammad." And Allah, to whom belong Might and Majesty, revealed: "Verily Allah intends to keep off from you every kind of uncleanness O' People of the House (Ahlul-Bayt), and purify you a thorough purification (Quran, the last sentence of Verse 33:33)".

    Sunni references:

al-Mustadrak by al-Hakim, Chapter of "Understanding (the virtues) of Companions, v3, p148. The author then wrote: "This tradition is authentic (Sahih) based on the criteria of the two Shaikhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim)."

    Talkhis of al-Mustadrak, by al-Dhahabi, v3, p148

    Usdul Ghabah, by Ibn al-Athir, v3, p33

Although the majority of traditions on this issue show that the last sentence of the verse 33:33 was revealed in the house of Umm Salama (as quoted earlier), the above tradition implies that it might have been revealed in the house of Safiyya. Based on the opinion of the Sunni scholars including Ibn Hajar, it is quite possible that the verse was revealed more than once. In each occasion, the Prophet repeated his action in front of different wives so that they all realize who his Ahlul-Bayt are.

The testimony of three wives of the Prophet (Aisha, Umm Salama, and Safiyya) leaves us no room but to believe that the Ahlul-Bayt at the time of the Prophet were no more than five individuals: Prophet Muhammad, Lady Fatimah, Imam Ali, al-Hasan, and al-Husain (Peace be upon them all).

The fact that the gender in later part of Verse 33:33 is switched from feminine to masculine, has led the majority of Sunni commentators to believe that the last part was revealed for Imam Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan and al-Husain, as Ibn Hajar al-Haythami indicated:

Based on the opinion of the majority of (Sunni) commentators, the saying of Allah :"Verily Allah intends to … (the last sentence of the verse 33:33)" was revealed for Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husain, because of the usage of masculine gender in the word "Ankum" and after that.

To tell them all "over faith is that There is only one Allah, & after him is no Else but Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), & after Allah & Prophet (PBUH) there is no one else but Hazrat Ali(A.S), & any one who has caused any sort of pain or sorrow to Prophet(PBUH) or Ahl-e-Bayt is Lanti & Tabra on him or her is wajib on every Muslim. & to sum up all the discussion about sayings of Prophet, I just want to inquire who was this Anu Huraira who has quoted thousands of sayings, so much so that I beleive that he has spend all the time days & nights with Prophet (PBUH) where as on the other hand Maula Ali (A.S) who has been described as the door to all knowledge by the Prophet(A.S) & other Ahl-e-Bayt have not collectivelly quoted so many sayings.

And just to refer about Wahabis, what they have done with our Holy Places, they are worst than jews or Hindus.

It wasn't done by any Muslim or a Talibaan. It was done by a stupid group of cults. We see such events in India too. The destruction of "Babri Mosque" was done by cults not by Hindu/Christian/Muslims. If anyone puts the attack at Sri Lankan cricket team on a Muslim or anything known as "talibaan" then let we quote a verse from Holy Quran(Holy book of Muslims):

"If any one kills a person – unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed the whole of humankind: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole of humankind."

Therefore those who did can never be Muslims no matter how much they insist…

Islam is a constipation in the tummy of satan. Muhmad was a paedophile and mass murderer..i feel world would be a better place if all muslims died!
