Cowasjee retaliates to Musharraf

Ardershir Cowasjee in his article in DAWN on Sunday the 19th says

“Some bright spark has calculated that 96 per cent of the 160- odd million citizens of this country feel so, and the general has duly accepted the figure. Question : after his four-day visit to Karachi last week to inaugurate Ideas 2004 (arms for peace indeed!) does he know that the figure of 96 has perhaps been somewhat reduced?”

Precisley what i wanted to say Musharraf has to find out which 96% of the Pakistani population believes he NEEDS to stay in power

All the political stuff that goes on in Pakistan is pure crap. We all know the power hierarchy commences and culminates at GHQ. Why this masqueraded effort to dislodge the people’s minds then? I know what Musharraf says goes. I also know the true value of the consitution of Pakistan. To save myself from going insane at a very young age, I have stopped reading news pertaining to the politics – which is what most news is about anyway.

I think its a waste of our resources to have such a huge cabinet and parliament when they yield no real power. Get rid of the moghul style PM house in Islamabad acting as a delusion that Pakistani is a rich country – which it is not!

Well, as far as Rafay Bin Ali’s statement goes, i think he is right to every extent because i feel the same. What’s the use of giving us the pain of going for election when our voice is never heard on any platform. Secondly when will the Army submit to parliament in makin its decision rather than the other way round. I think its about time people should realize that poverty in Pakistan is actually trade off of us having a huge Army which is more efficient in capturing Pakistan than protecting it, where the likes of people doesn’t matter.
