This is indeed a very ‘late news flash’ but I had to get this out of my system. The election of the 264th Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Ratzinger also known as Cardinal No. I sincerely wish him a strong and healthy leadership as he has big shoes to fill left by John Paul II. What catches the eye is the fact that he is significantly old to actually be unable to make any difference for greater good of christianity, he also happens to be an ultra conservative to the extent he was nicknamed ‘Cardinal No’ this spells trouble for many modern day activist (eg Gay rights etc), the new Pope is all is not so sweet towards the muslims as a few years back Cradinal Ratzinger had argued that Muslim Turkey did not belong in Christian Europe and issued a strict document stating that Catholicism was the only true religion and condemned the Muslim Turkey. Numerous Cardinals objected to this harsh doctrine but Pope John Paul II accepted the doctrine as Ratzinger was a very close ally. In his election what seems to have missed the eye was that he hails from Germany and was a soldier in Hitlers Army. Jews may feel a little disgruntled at having a German officer take the Papal office.

Its a unique psyche of us Muslims who as a matter of habit to always see a “Jewish Conspiracy” in almost anything anti-muslim. Why? I have no idea but feel that this rivalry has lasted for ages and has no chance of fading away anywhere in the near future. It seems that this could be in turn labelled as a Muslim conspiracy against the Jews 😉 we are all baffled at the election of Pope Benedict XVI

When composing this post I had ventured off to making a very loud political statement against Jews and Chirstians but with time I ended up revising the post as I honestly did not want to tarnish the image of the new Pope and wish him my full support and hope he can furter contribute towards a peaceful co-existence of various religions of the world.
I found these hilarious images on Hulleye see any hint of resemblance? The post on Halai’s blog included an amazing statement which truly captures both the images, I quote “Friends, romans (catholics), countrymen…welcome to the dark side of the force.” Please visit his blog @Halai.
Please do not mistake me as being rude to the Pope, I just found this interesting

he has this weird toothy leer. the way he is smiling makes me shiver. he looks really evil. pope john II was pleasant looking. this guy looks like the devil reincarnated.
thanks for the comment and glad you’re reviewing it. been reading your blog for a few weeks now. am new to the blogosphere and would really appreciate any exposure and advice.
hmmm….i hate to hear a religion’s war 🙁 even some of (or maybe a lots of) Christians are against Jewish, too. There are couples who oftenly came to my house before just to teach us about their belief, apparently they’re Jewish (we called them Jood) and they wanted us to change our religion till I one day spoke out loud to them not to come to my house again if they only want us to change our belief. Isn’t it annoying? I have Moslims friends, too, but they are not doing like this.
and why Turkish Moslim cannot belong to Christian Europe? Turkey is part of Europe, in fact! Why don’t people just respect another people’s religion? hmmm…
Actually, he was a member of Hitler Youth. This was a cumpulsory organisation for all young German boys when they turned 14. It was like an after school sports/boy scouts kind of program where kids also got rudimentary military training. The Wiermacht (German army) was not volunteer army. Pretty much anyone between the ages of 18-45 got drafted and had to serve. Pope Bennie served as a member of an anti-aircraft team and in a munitions factory, probably making forgiving Christian making bombs and artillery shells. He did not take part in the invasions. He was arrested for deserting the army in 1945. There was a whole Catholic underground of war resisters and Christians who spoke out against the war. He was 14 for Hitler Youth but in his 20’s when the war broke out. And he didnt do much. And he didnt desert till 1945 when everyone knew Germany was going to lose and being in the Army pretty much meant getting a bomb shoved up your ass. I mean, Italy joined the Allies in 1945 but that doesnt make them the good guys. But then the Vatican supported the Holocaust, something they didnt apologise for till pope Jean Paul (may the blessed bouncers at the holy gates of heaven not kick his ass). Its pretty screwed up. No one has the balls to say anything about anything until it serves some rich white mans political purposes.
