The Washington Times

Washington Times

Bill Garner of The Washington Times depicts how the Americans feel about Pakistan. Take a closer look and then look back into our history at how we slowly fell to such a disgraceful position, it has a lot to fo with selling our souls to satisfy our ambition to become the ‘West’.

I leave you to ponder and maybe leave a comment as to Why?

Not all Americans. The Washington Times is a publication that represents the most conservative, nationalistic sectors of American society. Many Americans have a great deal of respect for the people of Pakistan, and feel revulsion at the policies of our government.

“how the Americans feel about Pakistan”? This portrays how the Paki-American relationship is. We give Gen. Musharraf money he needs to maintain his shaky regime and he must take a hardline stance on the Taleban and others the US dislikes. It is mutually beneficial, particularily because many anti-American Islamists hate Musharraf, but the US government does not depend on Pakistan for its survival as the Paki government depends on the US. I guess you are correct that some Americans actually view Pakistan that way, however, more importantly, it points out Pakistan’s role in the US “anti-terrorism” machine.

Pakistan’s war is not against terror, neither Pakistan is fighting to protect American interests. Its the war to protect

    1. Saudi Royal Family’s interests.
    2. Pakistan Army’s interests.

And this cartoon shows ignorance of the artist.

Does the Washington Times’ appology today mean any thing. I wish someone explores the background of the paper and look deeper into the affair.

And Danial, I wish we unite against any external threat — physical as welll as ideological. No?

And mind you this is not the end. It might only be starting!

To that end, it could be argued that Pakistan and Musharraff are being duplicitous when they agree to help in the war on terror, even though that is not, as you state, their primary interest. No matter what their interest truly is, the Paki government’s stance on terrorism is hypocrisy at its best. Terrorism is not an American problem, it is a global problem and all of us collectively suffer as a result.

Just an apology is not sufficient and this is also not a single case. The Americans are always playing with the passions of Muslims all over the world. You have checked our vulnaburality of withstanding by discretion of Holy Quran in Guantanamo Bay, Your female introgettors sexual harrasment in Guantanomo Bay (Times Feb 15, 2005). This is all a planned move. You are cornering Muslims all over the world so that they opens their arms over American interest all over the world. What the Americans are getting in Iraq is just an eye openner. The reason is obvious why each of the muslims feel happy with the death of news of Americans in Iraq

Very good Mr. Bill Garner, youhave very rightly depicted the status of Pakistan. Pakistan has gone to this disgraceful position because of the Pakistan Army. Every time the Pakistan Army violates the rights of billions of Pakistanies to become the rulers of the country. The army dictator always make Pakistan the pet dog of Americans to get justification/approval from the US regime and hence the UNO. Almost all the Muslim countries are pet dogs of USA because of the antidemocratic governments in these countries. Almost all the Muslim countries are ruled by Shahs,Kings, Amir, Army Dictators and there is no pure democratic government in these countries. Had the Pakistan Army left Democracy to flourish in Pakistan the result would have been different like that in India. I do not blame Americans buying pet dogs because they are available. In the golden era of Muslims the Muslim world was democratic and the west was in the dark of antidemocratic ocean. I pay tribute to Americans for becoming the great democratic nation of the world. O, Muslims let us be democratic to live with dignity.

Every Pakistani should be saying what khan Sadiq ahmad said. The Pakistan Army and bureaucracy will never let democracy take roots in Pakistan. The present democratic setup is the result of shame democratic system which suited Musharaf and his band of patriots he created for himself. The present rulers, as well as those in the past, except Zulfiqar Ali BHUTTO, cannot think of a government without American help. Hence all rulers have tried to become better pet dogs of the u.s. then his predecessor.
