Shoot to Kill Innocents

At first it was spectacular news when the London police systematically cornered a would-be terrorist running from them at Stockwell Station and then convientely placed five shots into the person to kill him. Soon the Police was bold enough to admit (I give them due credit for coming out clean) that this Brazilian national was innocent and had no terrorist links. To my surprise I was simply stunned at how casually they offered a clarification “For somebody to lose their life in such circumstances is a tragedy and one that the Metropolitan Police Service regrets” Regrets my ass…. you have killed an innocent, so is it time that the Police be also labeled as a terrorist as they too hace resorted to indiscrimate killings.

I can imagine a lay person being on the edge after the bombings but the a police officer should be well under control, all they actually needed to do was “Disable” the person not KILL him.

Have you wondered that since he was not a Muslim the adminsitration came out with a quick apology otherwise if it had been a Muslim the police and the press would have dragged their feet on the sensational story longer and he would have been ‘guilty long before being proven innocent.’ Watch out Muslims living in the UK be careful when you travel and please don’t run if asked to stop, that £200 ticket violation is not worth your life.

🙁 sad indeed. but this is what has become a usual scenarion. they have degraded Muslims to such an extent that they fear for no good. but that is not just bad for Us the Muslims but for them aswell.

The shoot to kill policy is for suspected sucide bombers to make sure that they can’t detonate. A disabled person will still be able to set of their bombs, hence this harsh measure.

The aim of opening fire is to stop an imminent threat to life, which a suscide bomber is. The most effective means of incapacitating a suspect is to shoot at the central body mass which contains the central nervous system.

No. They are supposed to STOP the suspect.. You can’t stop a sucide bomber by shooting them in the leg. The chest is a no-target area since thats where the bombs usually are, and a shot there might set them off.

A tragedy for sure, but you can’t blame the police for it.

KO on retrospect I might agree with your course of action – and I too can understand the dilemma the police was in despite repeated order to stop – so technically he paid the price for it.. But even then a trigger happy police is not they type you want watching your back. Sad indeed

Geez KO… one can’t kill a guy and then say “ooops” in the end.

Every government has the right to create their own rules of conduct specially in times of chaos, I just hope that the “license to kill” does not become a “clowning glory” for the police.

I hope the ones who killed the innocent man by mistake will find peace in his heart too. I’m sorry that this is happening in London, I’m sure that the government is doing something about it.

    Peace.

its scary when u think about it. what if there is another attack? what if people are running in all directions and the police shoots another innocent victim. i am sure people would think twice before running.

hmm..i am afraid you are right about the British Media dragging the story out if the man killed had been Muslim. It is sad how fast the situation is turning into a British 9/11, with anti-Muslim propaganda at the helm..
