South Asia Center presents a Panel Discussion on “Pakistan: Political and Civil Crisis” and co-sponsored by the Department of South Asia Studies at the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, November 14th 2007, starting at 5pm, located at the Penn Humanities Forum, 3619 Locust Walk.
On Saturday, November 3rd General Musharraf declared a “State of mergency” in Pakistan. The series of events that preceded and followed this eclaration give rise to important issues, some of which will be addressed in this discussion including the role of the media; terrorism & “war on terror”; civil society activism; involvement of the international community; and technology & its use in protests.
