70 members civil society activists delegation visited Garhi Khuda Bux on 29th March, 2008 to pay tribute to Mohtarma BB. The brief report is below just for sharing our emotions.

When Prime Minister Yousuf Raza was getting historical vote of confidence in capital city, the 70 members delegation including women and children) had been paying tribute and homage to “martyred queen” Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux Larkana. “We are here to salute the “peoples prime minister”, who sacrificed her life for democracy and the people of Pakistan” delegation members observed with tears in their eyes. It was Ms Bhutto’s struggle that today we’ve elected government with 2/3 majority.

She talked for just, democratic and peaceful Pakistan and she emphasized on peoples empowerment in political, social, economic, education, health and all sectors of life further adding the delegation members MPA Farhin Mughal, Lala Hassan, Suhail Sangi, Adam Malik, Ghaffar Malik, Hina Siddiqui, Javed Shah, Robina Sheikh, Riaz Suhail, Shakoor Abbasi, Jan Odhano, Qutbuddin Khoso, Pirzada Mushtaq, Mola Bux Laghari, Shirin, Ali Hassan Mahar, Shahnz Sheikh, Zualfizar Khaskheli, Javed Mallah, Qazi Zualfiqar, Farzana Bhatti, Vinta Bano, Sami Soomro, Rozina Sheikh, Khan Rajpar, Ghulam Ummer, M waris, Ghulam Mustafa Bughhio, Khadim Meerani, Khalid Banbhan, GM Soomro and others said that she was reference to Pakistan which was no more. They said Mohtarma BB died amidst her supporters who revered her and her father ZA Bhutto before her and from whom she derived her strength and her legitimacy as a Leader. They said BB epitomized courage and courted her death because she had said that it was important for her to reclaim the political space lost to the extremists due to Musharraf and his ally government policies.

Suhail Sangi and Lala Hassan while talking in reception at Mehar said there were lots of challenges like terrorism, law and order situation, poverty, corruption, judicial crises, illiteracy, unemployment and other issues in que for new government. so government has to show its commitment as Ms Bhutto had otherwise it could not succeed to meet the years old challenges. Meanwhile most of the delegation members could not stop their tears while praying at BB’s last rest place.

On the other hand delegation received warm welcome at Dadu, Mehar and Wagan by civil society activists. people showered rose petals over delegation members. Civil society activists formed Forum for Peoples Rights (FPR) in the premises of Ms Bhutto’s last rest place to raise the issues of common people before the new government as BB had always talked about peoples’ empowerment so the forum would support better steps of government openly and anti people steps would be resisted.

Civil society activists from Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawab Shah, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Khairpur Mirs, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Qamber and Larkana districts in car rally were part of the 70 members delegation including women and children.
