The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has received updated information that due to a bullet wound and removal of one kidney, Dr. Afia Siddiqui health is in a serious condition, but no medical assistance has been provided to her whilst she has been in American custody in New York.

After the case of Dr. Afia was issued (AHRC-UAC-167-2008) and became part of public discourse, the government of the United States claimed that she was arrested on 17 July 2008, which does nothing to explain her whereabouts since March 2003.
It is reported that she was brought to Pakistan in February 2008 to convince her to become a government witness against Khalid Shiek Mohammad – a high profile Al-Quaida leader and allegedly one of the masterminds of the September 11 attacks, who has been detained in Guantanamo Bay prison. As the case against Khalid Shiekh Mohammad is about to start the American forces need the assistance of Dr. Afia Siddiqui to convict him. Dr. Afia was allegedly severely tortured in Karachi, Pakistan in order to secure her compliance.
She was produced before a New York court where she had to be assisted into the hearing. It is reported that her health is in a serious condition due to the bullet wound she suffered after reportedly trying to attack one of her guards, but no medical assistance has been provided to her while she has been in American custody in New York.
According to the information received from a local human rights organisation in Pakistan, her kidney was removed while she was in custody in the United States. A closer look at the picture shows evidence of the years of physical abuse; there are dark circles under her eyes, and her nose was apparently broken at some stage and has been badly set. It is a picture of a severely dehydrated person in desperate need of medical attention.
In addition, although one son is with Dr. Afia but the whereabouts of her two other children still remain unknown. All three of her children were kidnapped along with Dr. Afia when she was taken by Pakistani intelligence officers on March 30, 2003. Her two children who remain missing were not with her when she was shifted to a governor’s house in Afghanistan, for a brief stop over prior to her journey to New York, under heavy security. When she was being taken aboard a special plane there was no female security officer to provide support or assistance to her, and it was reported she fell down at least two times

These protest and rallies/petitions will hardly achieve anything.The Americans have become too hard nosed to be effected by such things.We need to start preparing to fight them,rather then remaining as their allies.Musharraf's policy of appeasement has not worked.Did we sacrifice to become a nuclear power ,to hand these to the Americans?

The other two children are probably with the family- Dr.Fawzia “declined to comment” about them (because the entire siddiqui family seems to comprise of dishonest crooks).
Dr. Afia is receiving appropriate medical care. As for how she got these- well I wouldn’t put extreme domestic violence past the new Al Qaeda husband she allegedly has.
If you can stop an evil with your power, you should. Otherwise, if you can speak out against it, you should. Not being able to do either of the above, you should atleast despise it as evil in your heart (and this is the lowest level of imaan). Not even despising it with one’s heart implies that one does not have imaan.
Lets just do what we can, for surely, it is better than doing nothing. The end results are in the Hands of Allah SWT.

These beasts never really had a case that could stand up to scrutiny in any court of law (except of course, in an kangaroo court). All along they knew that their diamond story and other mumbo-jumbo accusations would easily fall apart. Hence, this amended new script about Dr Afia shooting with M4 rifle at two American military officers and was shot back and all that crap. The sad part is that only a miracle can help her from these bloody and vicious monsters. Nevertheless, lets do what we can and for those who are not able to must offer dua’s and making sure this issue is NOT put on the back burners!

Although we all do have right to say what ever we considered is the right perspective. However how we are extending the debate…???first of all we all should thank to another daughter (converted Muslim Britisher) of Muslim Ummah Ms.Maryam (Ivon Ridley) who first highlighted Dr.Aafia by confirming her extremly miserable and pathatic presence in Bagraam Air Base Jail being the only female prisoner in.Simply the two pictures of her, one she holding the degree at her University convocation reflecting full of life as it should be and the one pasted on this blog………………….The difference is so self explanatory that we being the youngsters Pakistani Muslim find no place on earth to breath………how a Muslim can live without the feelings of dignity/self respect and feelings of hammiyyat and ghairatt………….but we are………..and even the lowest level of human dignity alone rather than imaan can’t help feeling of disgrace/embarrassment/shamefulness Muslims…………we all should make a collective istaghfaar otherwise no once can escape that Day Of Judgment for which it is clearly announced and we being Muslims are suppose to believe that day each and every thing would be absolutely justified……….may ALLAH bless the right thinking perspective and courage to practice it accordingly……!!!!!!!

ISLAMABAD: Another debate has erupted after Barrister Iqbal Jafferi’s petition in the Islamabad High Court in which he has submitted that a huge amount of bounty money was received for handing over Dr Aafia Siddiqui to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Barrister Jafferi, in his petition filed on August 8, has accused President Pervez Musharraf’s son, Bilal Musharraf, of taking the bounty money that the FBI had announced for the head of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
The petition was filed to ask the court to direct the government to get Aafia back from the Americans and if the Pakistani doctor was guilty then she must be put on trial in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, a lawyer from the USA who knows Dr Aafia since her university days, told this correspondent on condition of anonymity that a huge sum of money was pocketed while handing over the FBI-wanted Dr Aafia Siddiqui to the US forces. She said that it was not known who collected that reward money from the FBI but someone gathered dollars for Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
She said that though the charges against Dr Aafia were ‘rubbish’ but the Americans would never let her go. “We have the examples of Aimal Kansi and an Italian underworld don after whose execution Italy stopped extraditing prisoners to the USA,” said the American lawyer adding, “Aafia has been put in a New York jail; was produced before a judge in New York and would be heard before a judge in New York while the public sentiment in New York was so anti-Aafia that the dailies have started calling Aafia a suicide bomber.”
She said that under such circumstances it was not possible to conduct a fair trial and the government in Pakistan must tell the US government to extradite its citizen to her homeland. The lawyer from the USA said that the issue was not of the innocence of Dr Aafia but in fact a trial could not be fair in New York.
Dr Fauzia Siddiqui, the sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, while talking to The News said that she would not blame anyone for what has happened to her sister. “From me and my family, we do not blame any Muslim for what has been happening to our sister for the last five years; Our Allah will take revenge for us,” said the weeping lady adding, “The government had been in contact with us during the last five years and has been saying that Dr Aafia would be back in a few days.” She said that the government had been informing the aggrieved family that Dr Aafia was fine with her three children but the way she appeared in the court in New York has shaken the entire ill-fated family. “Now we have been told that all the three children were fine but looking at Aafia’s condition we fear that the children might be in danger,” said the sister of Dr Aafia.
She said that the way the whole nation has supported them, especially the media, and she had become more proud of being a Pakistani. “It is immaterial who handed over Aafia to the FBI but I am proud of being a Pakistani after looking at the support from the civil society and the media and my heart wishes that I should go out and shout at the top of my voice that I am a proud Pakistani, a nation which has stood by its daughter.”
She said that she did not know if anyone has taken the bounty money for Dr Aafia and would not point fingers at anyone. “What I want is to bring Aafia back to Pakistan and I beg the media and the government to do something for Aafia and bring her back,” Dr Fauzia Siddiqui said adding, “the Americans would send her to jail for 40 years then what would we do? Aafia was not a green card holder then why she was being tried in New York?”
Meanwhile, Amna Masood Janjua, the lady representing the heirs of missing persons in Pakistan, said that Musharraf has taken money for handing over innocent Pakistanis to American forces and he has admitted it in his book too. She said that the government should stand up for the daughter of the soil and bring Aafia back to Pakistan.
Barrister Iqbal Jafferi, who is 70 years old and suffers from prostate cancer, was not available for comments.
