Soomro interim President – Zardari to become President

Very reliable sources from the US – the main broker of the Musharraf exit deal have just chimed in to say that,

Musharraf will resign from the Presidency in 48 hours to be replaced by Chairman Senate for a few days after which Asif Ali Zardari will become the next President of Pakistan.

The news does not come as a surprise as its without doubt Zardari might have been vying for the top slot as we should NOT forget that the President of Pakistan still holds the trump card of Article 58-2(b) which allows him to dismiss the Parliament if he feels ‘uncomfortable with it’. This underlying plan to become the President, may also explain why Zardari was not bothered to first wrestle out the 58-2(b) from Musharraf prior to attacking him with the threats of impeachment.

Logically it would have reasoned that before going after Musharraf with an impeachment it may have been politically correct to wrestle away the threatening constitutional power and it would have been easy to muster a 2/3rd majority for a one-point constitutional amendment, as its on record that Yousuf Raza Gilani was elected into the Prime Ministers house with over 2/3rd number of votes.

But the sly politician had his eyes set on ensuring that the ultimate trump card remains within the presidency in safe custody until he finally accedes to the thrown and then can keep an ultimate strangle hold on Pakistan with absolute no recourse for a five year unhindered rule of corruption.

Truly my heart cries out in anguish – Zardari as the next President of Pakistan – God Help Us all

ADDENDUM: Due to an error on my end, I accidentally stipulated Wasim Sajjad as the next President, where in fact the source actually had stipulated Chairman Senate [who is Mohammedmian Soomro] many apologies for the accidental confusion

What a tragedy! I just cannot believe this that the so called leadership in Pakistan can accept this. Zardari will now loot the whole country. Now it all makes sense, first get rid of BB and then Musharraf. May God help Pakistan!

Chairman of senate will become entirun president when president resigns, there is no surprise in it as its constitutional demand.

Rest of your speculation is baseless and illogical.

I can assure you that next president wont be Zardai but either Justice Wajih u din or Sardar Atta ullah Mangal.

Lets wait and watch and I assue you that you will be on wrong.

Too late. Zardari already had his eyes on the chair. He is not sly actually we’re the fools who trusted him despite knowing his past. The ISI episode was just to show the US that Zardari was willing to do more than Musharraf and hence got the approval for Musharraf’s ouster.

    We’re doomed!

    MUSHARAF – OUR TRUE HERO

Pervez Musharaf stepped in to save Democracy as it has taken a wrong turn in hands of Nawaz Sharif who was not only invading judiciary at that time but also slowly paralyzing Army in order to control all institutions of check and balance. No doubt Nawaz sharif is showing his eagarness to remove Musharaf either by hook or crook as he had shattered his dreams of declaring himself as “Ameer”

Do you believe our present corrupt elites have any right to charge Musharaf by launching “Muvaqza” movement against him?

Is Zardari clean of all evils after taking bath with NRO soap! Has Zardari changed after assasination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (Shaheed)and became a good man! Has his quest for money ended after taking over PPP. I don’t think so – Chor chori say jae haira pheri say naheen.

Election 2008 has clearly shown that we do not stand together as a nation, we are not responsible voters either! We are divided in ethnic groups.

For God sake, please think like a Pakistani, Choose what is good for the solidarity and prosperity of our beloved country. SUPPORT MUSHARAF – OUR TRUE HERO.

This ia all part of the great game. Though Musharraf has committed numerous and unforgiveable crimes, it is not the time to take revenge. Think of the long term – if current rulers took revenge, then they themselves or any future ruler would not be safe. In some cases there may be trumped up charges.

In my opinion Musharraf be forced to come on TV and ask for forgiveness from his country men plus he should disclose what he has done to the missing persons, request for Dr. Afia’s and her children’s return. On eof the best move he can take is to revert his Nov 3 2007 actions by cancelling all PCO and restoring judiciary. Such a move will automatically take care of Zardari, NRO and even Nawaz Sharif. There will be no obligation on Ch Iftekhar from the ruling party, so he will be free to dispense justice according to constitution. Above all Pakistan will be saved from Zardari and MQM.

I sincerely pray that Musharraf must take this step as he is going to be humiliated in any case by these corrupt and already tested politicians. Amen

    @azad pakistan,

Ive nothing to do with ppp or zardari and he is not a prty leader who i like very much, you have started judging without understanding!

A simple rule is: let the majority decide!

If majority thinks that any politician is corrupt, they will through him out, same goes to Zardari and Nawaz.

If few dictator lover and their paid media who is doing media trial of oliticians for decades think that someone is corrupt, its not important.

Politicans deserve a fair chance to prove this propaganda of agencies as wrong, not jumping guns befroe even they start.

And only politicians are not corrupt, one retired generals owns more assets then entire lot of corrupt politicains but never tried in media, its shamefull that we call “lottery” to democratic decisions by vote of majority.

If Zardari is corrupt, its majority of voters to decide not any bloggers!

You like the media to talk against the Generals but you don’t want the media to talk against Politicians and if you had the authority, you would censor such media!!! Wow!! I can see your true demoractice colors

And please don’t say that you don’t have anything to do with PPP. Does Majority of people with one opinion makes the opinion RIGHT?

Majority is not the standard to judge of something being right or wrong. If that was the case, then we don’t need the judges or judiciary. Simply the Govt should post a poll and the decision should be made based on the poll.
No, thats not the right way to judge between RIGHT AND WRONG

Muhammad (S.A.W.W) was alone when he started to call people to Islam. Kuffar of Mekkah Majority were wrong. So should we decide between right and wrong based on the number of people wanting one over another??

Hitler had majority of German people in favor, did that make Hitler right?

Take the example for Prophet Luot (PBUH), all the majority of people in that area were against him. Does that mean he was wrong and the opinion of the majority was right?

    NO!

The majority is always right provided it is educated .Anyone who disagrees is disagreeing with The Holy Prophet who said that the majority of his Ummah could never be in error. What does that mean if not that the majority is right?

The Jehadists fighting against Pakistan are paid American agents. They are working along with American and Indian agencies to destablise Pakistan and ISI.Zardari is also part of the same plan. The true Islamists are the ones fighting Americans in Afghanistan. So be careful of which Islamists you support.

Musharraf is a true hero as he is taking a stand against this US plan to break up Pakistan which some Mir Jafar type Islamists in America’s pay are also seeking to do.Such fradulent Jihadists must all be killed.

If Zardari unchecked ,with Nawaz Sharif in tow is the only choice;I would prefer Musharraf any day.

Have you noticed in the last few days 98% of the time it is all pro-impeachment people talking.Hardly any time is given to opposing views.Musharraf ALLOWED much fairer coverage to the opposition in his time. And they havn’t even fully taken over as yet.

Secondly if the stand is about finishing “amreeyat” for ever;why are PPP so desperately offering safe passage if Musharraf steps down.I thought finishing amreeyat would be about having no deals with amiers !Clearly all they want is to loot the country themselves as they sell it,the ISI and the army to America -after removing the only threat to them i.e.Musharraf!!

But Musharraf you still have 52-2b. So GO MUSHARRAF GO !!

i don’t think zardari would be the next president, its really hard to get consensus on his canidature, other parties simply won’t agree, zardari too knows that,he recently said that next president could be a woman too, maybe he is hinting that he might put forward the name of one of his sister to be next president? that too would be hard to sell to N league,N league is already quite bitter over Salman Taseer, and a president like Salman Taseer(as zardari had declared earlier) simply won’t be acceptable to them. maybe zardari would again use judges issue as bargaining chip,You elect my president and i restore your judges..

So in that case people are not wrong when they are against Musharraf? because its a majority of Ummah. or you don’t include people against MUSH in the Ummah??

So this would justify the election of MQM and also ANP and also of Zardari and also of Nawaz, they all have majorities?

@hassan Abbas Mush does not have 58(2b) anymore, it was obvious from the 13 dec’s late night Independence day event held at Presidency that 58(2b) is not an option anymore, Army Chief avoided attending that event sending a clear indication that he don’t want to be seen with an unpopular dictator. Now you don’t really expect that Mush mouth piece Rashid Qureshi to go out and enforce 58(2b), do you?

  31. d0ct0r Avatar
    d0ct0r

58(2b) wasn’t even an option back in last month when Mush twice attended dinners projected to be given in his honor by the business community of karachi in which Musharraf and his so called mates from MQM tried to launch a smear campaign against the current government and lambasted its policies and performance.obviously at the back of his mind at that time was 58(2b)(he trying to build a case against govt) but frankly he didn’t had any support at all, and those businessman who were earlier projected to have invited him they to became openly vocal against him later on.

The fact was that business community never intended to invite Mush,it was all organized, planned and orchestrated by his goons from MQM and presidential camp, obviously when brutal terrorists like MQM invite you to an event then you have no option but to attend, you simply can’t refuse otherwise you’d be tagged as anti MQM and a news report about you of being ‘gunned down by unknown assailants‘ might appear in next day’s newspaper.

If or if not Zardari becomes the President — does not make an iota of difference. He is controlling everything anyways. Besides, we have had many thugs rule us — including our current President. I see people commending Nawaz Sharif as a top choice — surprisingly this was the guy who stormed the supreme court, froze foreign accounts — in 1999 our foreign reserves dropped to just over 500 Million $…

Fact of life is whether you support Zardari, Nawaz, Mush etc does not make any difference — I think its wasting time do discuss this any further. May Allah show us the way. Ameen

I believe the above phrase to the most… we are blaming our politicians and if 97% of people in Pakistan are Muslims they must believe that as well….. that we will get the same leaders as we are ourself. meaning we select (not elect) leaders based on race (even educated people)… or money they spent in election campaigns (since poor only thinks short term, as they are not educated)….. and vast majority of educated people consider election as a national holiday.

We have to take our responsibility and take part in elections with sincerity and loyalty and patriotism.. we who are educated when start a degree take on oath that we will educate at least one person but we dont dot that… even educated people are unaware… if we want to see a better Pakistan we have to take the responsibility … educate people and make them aware of what they should do and how they should vote in election.

    The ultimate plan:

The foreign powers effecting Pakistani politics don’t think on shorter frame but have a very broad horizon. Look the way benazir’s brothers were killed way back when zardari was not known to this world, then the assassination of BB her self. So they work on a slow but a long term strategy. That’s how it works. Now concider the case of imran khan, he got married with a jew converted to islam and then again got back to her parental religion. But in the mean time there is a birth of two boys. Now after few years we will see them as our leaders. I am like confused what there religious concepts will be then. They have a label of imran’s son but in reality their agenda will depict the mind of the person who made this ultimate plan.

So people we think really short were our enemies think deep. I think that a leader with no intellect can not foresee this, instead a non democratic leader with some education like musharaf may resolve some think. Like the way he handled denial perl’s case .

If zardari gets in power GOD bless Pakistan.
