Call a Spade, a Spade!

Muhammad Ali Jinnah – Presidential Address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on 11th August, 1947

As you know, history shows that in England conditions, some time ago, were much worse than those prevailing in India today. The Roman Catholics and the Protestants persecuted each other. Even now there are some States in existence where there are discriminations made and bars imposed against a particular class. Thank God, we are not starting in those days. We are starting in the days when there is no discrimination, no distinction between one community and another, no discrimination between one caste or creed and another. We are starting with this fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of one State.

The heirs of Jinnah’s Pakistan have failed to live up to the expectations of the nations founding fathers. Today’s attacks on Ahmedi “worship places”, was despicable and deserved not only our sympathies with the families of the victims; but our unequivocal condemnation of such barbarism.

However, that too seems too much to ask for.

What filled our television screens and the blogosphere were commentaries on whether Ahmedi worship places can be called mosques or not. Whether we can recognize mid-Friday worship at these venues as Friday prayers or not. And to my utter disgust and disappointment some comments that suggested that the victims, due to their beliefs have brought upon themselves such senseless violence.

Predictably, we have claims of foreign influence, nefarious and maligned conspiracies, and actions by “hidden hands” etc. However, while everyone seems to have an opinion on what transpired in Lahore, several people find it extremely hard to condemn without reservation the murder of innocent people. Words of condemnation are followed by a caveat.

Are we as a society becoming guilty of tolerating violence? Why are some forms of criminality tolerated while others considered unforgivable?

Regardless of the beliefs of the victims, is it not a crime to carry weapons, enter private property and cause bodily and material destruction? Whether or not the perpetrators of the attack are the Taliban or “foreign agents” is beside the point. It does not excuse the state from its responsibility to protect its citizens?

Today’s attacks illustrate how on the one hand the state continues to underestimated the strength and determination of terrorists, and how gullible a nation we are that believes statements by the government and military that progress is being made in the fight against miscreants. Victims of today’s attack would be hardly convinced.

Further, would a representative of the state care to explain how gunmen were able to carry weapons and explosives without being challenged at any of the checkpoints that have been erected? How were two of the terrorists able to escape when the perimeter should have been cordoned off?

We complain about civilian deaths at the hands of US drone attacks. We demand that our citizens receive the same protections without reservation or discrimination. We condemn atrocities committed against Muslim’s in India. Yet when it comes to our fellow citizens, we are increasingly intolerant towards them, and tolerant of violence against them.

It’s time to call a spade, a spade. There can be no half measures, no notions of acceptable violence and criminality. We as a society have become increasingly adept at marginalizing minorities; that when crimes are perpetrated against them our condemnation and outrage seems muted.

it is irrelevant what jinnah said 60 years ago

jinnah was no Prophet or God, Pakistan today should be steered through the will of its people

don't try to blackmail people with teachings of jinnah

Really? Should Pakistan be steered through the will of its people or through the teachings of Quran & our Holy Prophet (PBUH)?

I don't think anything wrong has been said in the article. Would the Prophet (PBUH) ever support the extremism & barbarity with which the Ahmadis were murdered? Never. If this was how Islam was supposed to be protected & spread than it would have ended 1400 years ago.

And the will of the people is……….???

Are we not being blackmailed with religious symbolism by bearded mullahs demanding death and violence? Granted its only a minority who spew hate, but at the same time it only takes a handful of supporters to turn empty rhetoric into violent crimes.

Its much easier to taunt a politician or question his motives. But how does one stand up to a religious figure or question his position where a mob would rather lynch you for blasphemy or being anti-Islam than to engage in a debate and win you over by their deeds and their actions.

    Dear Israel… thank you

Thank God for Israel. We should be sending them bouquets right now. Great big arrangements of tube-roses and gladiolas, with a little card pinned to a leaf. Inside should be a cute drawing of a teddy bear with hearts popping around him and a hand-written message saying “Dear Israel, stay villainous! You make us look good! Love, Pakistan.”

Pak investigators suspect police officials’ role in Lahore mosque attack

Lahore, Jun.5 (ANI): Pakistani investigators probing last Friday’s ghastly terror attacks on two Ahmedi mosques in Lahore’s Garhi Shahu and Model Town areas have got some crucial leads in the case which point fingers towards the involvement of some police officials deployed at both places of worship.

According to sources, during interrogation, Muaaz, the militant who was nabbed alive during the terror siege, has revealed several important facts which has now led the investigators to believe that certain security officials were acting as facilitators to the terrorists.

@hahaha: Yeah, that's why you fundos were opposed to Jinnah, calling him a British agent for forcing the partition of India. But when Pakistan was made, all was forgotten and the mad mullahs immediately went "hai hai hai! Pakistan islam ka gehwara hai! Chalo Ahmadion ko maartay hain". Hypocrite choot-pieces. Agar Jinnah ki baatein nahin pasand theen to Deoband mein warray rehtay, yahan kya kar rahe ho?

Jinnah was a constitutionalist and his views on democracy and statecraft made a lot more sense than the loonies that have been spitting venom and committing hate crimes for six decades. Which probably explains why maulvis haven't won any general or provincial election in the history of the country.

There's the "will of the people".

@hahaha: I agree with you. Jinnah should not be treated like a prophet that we treat everything he said as divine decrees.

But he was nevertheless the founder of our country. The religious groups & mullahs were opposed to him & what he was trying to accomplish.

At least the mullah's & religious parties should be brave enough to admit this much & be honest with the people. Instead they have added 'Hazrat' & 'Rehmat-ullah' to his name & outright lie about what he stood for.

I am sure if he was alive today these same mullahs would be issuing fatwas declaring him a kaafir.

The mullahs should be brave enough & say yes we opposed Jinnah, admit he was secular, admit he did not want a theocracy, admit that he was fighting for the political & economic rights of the muslims & not for religious rights or to create a shariah state, and then tell people that we support none of that – we do not want the Pakistan that Jinnah created & wanted – we want a theocracy as per our own interpretation of Islam. But i know this will never happen because this is politics & business – it has nothing to do with principals.

Why do they have to lie in the name of Jinnah to get support from the people? Why the hypocrisy? Is there a fear that people might not support them if they start criticizing Jinnah? Is there a fear that the establishment will not tolerate this & let them carry on with their politics & business in the name of Islam?

      ==========================================

A1 has raised a genuine question but what would be the interpretation of Islam in Pakistan and who will unite this MOB [Pakistanis] on single Interpretation of a Deen which is not Religion but way of Life.

      A glimpse:

1 – Deobandis: Ban Shia Processions in Moharram, Ban 12 Rabiul Awwal Procession and every other bida’at [Innovation] in which are practiced by Non-Deobandis. Shias are out of Islam.

2 – Barelvis : Everything which is done by Deobandis and Wahabis is against Islam. Deobandis, Wahabis and Rafizis are out of Islam.

3 – Ahl-e-Hadith i.e. Salafis/Wahabi: Every Bida’at is deviancy and every deviancy leads towards Hell. Shia, Barelvis, and Deobandis too be warned.

4 – Jamat-e-Islami: Every Secular party is against Islam and every Military Dictator is Ameerul Momineen but above mentioned groups have written books after books and issued fatwa after fatwa even of Kufr/Disbelief against Mawdudi and Jamat-e-Islami.

Late Hussain Ahmed Madani [Head of Deoband and he was also in Indian Congress] had declared [while opposing Pakistan] that Hindus and Muslims of Pre Partition India are one "Ummah"

As per my poor and humble knowledge. These Islamist Politicians are least bothered to pay attention that Parliamentary Democracy [Secular] and Quran are two different entities and these Fools are trying to mixing them both thus perverting both. They talk of Islamic Democracy but fail to mention that 4 Caliphs were not selected as per Adult Franchise but through a Shura consist upon some Companions [May Allah be please with all of them] and process of selection of Earliest Caliphs i.e. Abu Bakar, Omar, Uthman and Ali [May Allah be pleased with all of them]. Even process of selection of 4 Caliphs differed in each case [Tabari [Chapters on Caliphate] , Prophet and Caliphs of Prophet [Vol 1 and 2] History by Ibn Khaldun and Al Bidaya Wal Nihaya by Hafiz Ibn Kathir]

Comparing the system given by Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] 1500 years ago with 1973 Constitution is [in my humble opinion] extreme “Ignorance” i.e. Jahalat. Islamic System is a different entity and Parliamentary System is altogether a different system.

Mughal: I don't think there is any such thing as an 'Islamic System' when it comes to choosing your leaders.

You can find proof for this in what you wrote yourself – all of the first 4 caliphs were selected in a different way. There was no fixed formula. And this is the reason the first big division amongst Muslims came about – on the selection of the Khaleefa.

I strongly disagree with people who say that parliamentary democracy has no place in Islam. There is nothing in the Quran & nothing in the Hadith that says that parliamentary democracy is Haraam or Un-Islamic. The only caveat that we in a Muslim country should have is that all laws & regulations should be in accordance with the Quran & Hadith.

No where in our religion does it tell the Muslims how to select or elect their leaders, but only tells them that they should not follow those who do not fear Allah & who rule by creating divisions.

Surely this is a very important issue. If Allah had wanted, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) would have left us with specific guidelines on how we were supposed to select or elect our leaders. But there are no such guidelines. Instead it was through consensus that the Sahaba (RA) decided amongst themselves. There was no formula.

I think Allah in His wisdom left it to us to decide how we chose our leaders because humans societies have changed & evolved & will keep on doing that.

Those who talk about establishing Khilafa do not have the vaguest of ideas of what it will be like – who will decide who becomes the Khalifa? Who is a Khalifa anyway – We can call our Prime Minister the Khalifa if we want to because that is what the role of the Khalifa is going to be.

What they propose will surely result in a might is right form of government where whoever is powerful enough will declare himself Khalifa. History shows us that the religious clergy have always overwhelmingly sided with those in power. A formula for disaster – not unlike what we have in Saudi Arabia.

      ====================

Yes there is as I mentioned in the case of Caliphs with References and I further add that Hazrat Ameer Muawiyah [May Allah be pleased with him] and Amir Yazid Bin Muawiyah [May Allah have mercy on his soul] were selected by overwhelming majority of Muslims. [Reference: Ibn Khaldun, and Al Bidayah Wal Nihaya] . More than 300 Companions of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] were alive and accepted Yazid's Caliphate e.g. Abdullah Ibn Abbas, Abdullah Ibn Omar [May Allah be pleased with them] and even Mohammad Bin Hanfiya [S/O Hazrat Ali – May Allah be pleased with him] accepted him as Caliph and used to spend time with Yazid [Al Bidaya Wal Nihaya]

Mughal: That is not what i am saying. There was no system decreed by the Prophet. No where does it say in our religion that 10 or 50 or 100 or 300 people should select the ruler.

I am not arguing about the historical facts of how the Caliphs were chosen.

Your own example suggests that there was no uniform system that was followed. So clearly there was nothing decreed by the Quran & Hadith.

But given that we do not have an articulate system of governance that can articulate the will, as you put it, of the people how exactly does one know what the people want?

This is just cherry picking history to suit the narrative that Maudidi(after the partition), the religious parties & the establishment wanted to & want to promote.

Jinnah obviously believed in the distinct identity that muslims of the sub-continent had but this did not mean that he wanted to set up a Sharia state or even that he was striving for a separate homeland from the beginning.

If anyone cares to study history objectively, Gandhi, Nehru & the congress leadership were to blame for the failure of the Cabinet Mission Plan to which Jinnah had agreed to in 1946.

In fact later Indian historians have laid blame on the shoulders of Gandhi & Nehru for the division of the sub-continent & not Jinnah.

The statements & demands for partition that Jinnah made should be looked at in context – they were a bargaining tool. He was pushing the Congress leadership to give a fair representation & share of power to the muslims when the Britishers left. But it was the extreme stubbornness & inflexibility of the Congress leadership that was not willing to accommodate Jinnah's demands that finally convinced him that partition was the only option to secure political & economic rights of Muslims.

Jinnah also did not want the partition of Punjab & Bengal & many think that he was disappointed with the the Pakistan he ended up with.

Maudidi's many other writings that Aamir Mughal has quoted here show clearly what his position was on Pakistan before the partition.

Mawdudi, Jinnah and Pakistan??? [Part 1]

The Jamat-i-Islami was also opposed to the idea of Pakistan which it described as Na Pakistan (not pure).

In none of the writings of the Jama'at is to be found the remotest reference in support of the demand for Pakistan. The pre-independence views of Maulana Abul Ala Maududi, the founder of the Jamat-i-Islami were quite definite:

"Among Indian Muslims today we find two kinds of nationalists: the Nationalists Muslims, namely those who in spite of their being Muslims believe in Indian Nationalism and worship it; and the Muslims Nationalist: namely those who are little concerned with Islam and its principles and aims, but are concerned with the individuality and the political and economic interests of that nation which has come to exist by the name of Muslim, and they are so concerned only because of their accidence of birth in that nation. From the Islamic viewpoint both these types of nationalists were equally misled, for Islam enjoins faith in truth only; it does not permit any kind of nation-worshipping at all. [Maulana Maududi, Nationalism and India, Pathankot, 1947, p-25]

Mawdudi, Jinnah and Pakistan??? [Part 2]

Maulana Maududi was of the view that the form of government in the new Muslim state, if it ever came into existence, could only be secular. In a speech shortly before partition he said: "Why should we foolishly waste our time in expediting the so-called Muslim-nation state and fritter away our energies in setting it up, when we know that it will not only be useless for our purposes, but will rather prove an obstacle in our path." Mawdudi, Jinnah and Pakistan??? [Part 3]

Paradoxically, Maulana Maududi's writings played an important role in convincing the Muslim intelligentsia that the concept of united nationalism was suicidal for the Muslims but his reaction to the Pakistan movement was complex and contradictory. Mawdudi, Jinnah and Pakistan??? [Part 4]

He had opposed the idea of united nationhood because he was convinced that the Muslims would be drawn away from Islam if they agreed to merge themselves in the Indian milieu. He was interested more in Islam than in Muslims: because Muslims were Muslims not because they belonged to a communal or a national entity but because they believed in Islam. The first priority, therefore, in his mind was that Muslim loyalty to Islam should be strengthened. This could be done only by a body of Muslims who did sincerely believe in Islam and did not pay only lip service to it. Hence he founded the Jamat-i-Islami (in August 1941). However, Maulana Maududi's stand failed to take cognizance of the circumstances in which the Muslims were placed at that critical moment. Even Mullahs were allergic to Mawdudi and Mawdudi, Jamat-e-Islami and their supporter's Kharji Ideology!

Most of the Blasphemous Narrations about Sihaba Kiram which are often quoted conveniently are basically in Khilafat O Malookiyat by Mawdudi who never knew the Status of Prophets [PBUT] and Companions [May Allah be pleased wwith all of them].

Mawdudi quoted Blasphemous narration after narration from Alleged Islamic History without even verifying the authenticity and concocted the so-called Political Islamist Ideology.

Do read Khilafat o Malookiyat [original version and several issues of Tarjumnaul Quran] by Mawdudi Calamity again and differentiate between History and Tabbarrah. Mawdudi, his deviant books and his deviants followers of Jamat-e-Islami were thoroughly exposed by not leading Deobandi and Wahabi Maulvis read the following books on Mawdudi’s Tabbarah on Sihaba Kiram and Prophets [PBUT].

I feel like it because you like to use abusive language I like to quote Mullahs on Mullahs:

      Fatwas of conformists against non-conformists

“The non-conformist (ghair muqallid) sect, whose distinctive outward manner [of prayer] in this country is saying Amen aloud, raising the hands [during the prayer], folding the arms on the chest, and reciting the Al-Hamd behind the Imam, are excluded from the Sunnis, and are like other misguided sects, because many of their beliefs and practices are opposed to those of the Sunnis. It is not permissible to pray behind them. To mix with them socially and sit with them, and to let them enter mosques at their pleasure, is prohibited in Islamic Shari‘ah.” (This bears the seals of nearly seventy Ulama. Reference the book: Arguments with regard to the expulsion of Wahabis from mosques, p. 8.)

“He who calls conformism (taqlid) as prohibited, and conformists as polytheists, is a kafir according to Islamic Shari‘ah, and in fact a murtadd [apostate].” (Book: Discipline of mosques with regard to the expulsion of mischief-makers from mosques)

“It is obligatory upon the Ulama and Muftis that, by merely hearing of such a thing, they should not hesitate to issue fatwas of heresy and apostasy. Otherwise, they themselves would be included among the apostates.” (ibid.)

Ahmad Raza Khan, the Barelvi leader, has quoted the beliefs of all sections of the non-conformists, and given the fatwa:

“All these groups are murtadd and kafir. He who doubts their being kafirs, is himself a kafir.”(Book Hisam al Haramain)

Fatwas of non-conformists [Ahl-e-Hadith] against conformists [Deobandis and Barelvis]

“Question: What say the Ulama and the Muftis regarding the conformist (muqallid) group, who follow only one Imam [i.e. Hanafis]. Are they Sunnis or not? Is it valid to pray behind them or not? Is it permissible to allow them into mosques, and to mix with them socially?

“Answer: Undoubtedly, prayers are not permissible behind conformists because their beliefs and practices are opposed to those of the Sunnis. In fact, some of their beliefs and practices lead to polytheism, and others spoil prayers. It is not correct in Islamic Shari‘ah to allow such conformists into mosques.”

This bears the seals of nineteen priests. (Reference the book: Collection of Fatwas, pp. 54 – 55)

The late Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan wrote:

“The word polytheist can be applied to conformists, and polytheism can be applied to conformism. Most people today are conformists. The Quranic verse, ‘Most people believe not, they are but polytheists’, applies quite well to them.” (Iqtarab as-Sa‘a, p. 16)

Not only Hanafis, but all of them:

“The followers of all the four Imams and the followers of the four Sufi orders, viz. Hanafi, Shafi‘i, Maliki, Hanbali, Chishtiyya, Qadiriyya, Naqshbandiyya and Mujaddidiyya are all kafirs.”(Jami al-Shuhood, p. 2)

A great write-up and very daring indeed to call a spade, a spade. But those who are led astray by God himself, as he himself says in his Quran, becomes immune to guidance. This is such a submissive nation that they would stand for hours together, along with women and children in the hot sun, without any grudge even, to let pass a gaudy ruler who monopolizes a public road for hours by clamping what the police-walas call a 'root'.

I wonder why these 'Piply' and 'Nawazi' rulers are afraid to call an Ahmadi sajidah-gaah, a masjid. Allah has killed their very 'mat'(Sense), it seems.

An colleague of mine took me once to Rabwah. I met a friend of mine their. Just when we were talking there was 'Azaan', coming from the Ahmadi mosque which was not perhaps banned by then. My friend asked me whether we might offer prayer with Ahmadies in their mosque. I said,"Why not: Does not the Quran say 'Warkaoo marraakaein' (Bow with those who bow before God)?"

As regards 'Masjid'it literally means 'a place for prostration (sajida)' by any body with whatever belief. In fact in Islam the entire face of earth has been declared as 'masjid'. Then how can any place where an Ahmadi offers 'sajida', not a 'masjid'.

But what use all this arguing with those who have lost all sense by being led astray in the name of Allah?

Why don’t you also attend the circle? He neither lifted his head nor did he look at me and said, “In that place are those who listen to ahadith from the slave of Razzaq and here are those who listen to ahadith from the Razzaq!” Hadhrat Khidr said that, “If you are indeed speaking the truth then tell who am I? He raised his head and said that, “If I am not mistaken, then you are Khidr.” Hadhrat Khidr then said, “From this I came to know that there are such wali of Allaah whom even I cannot recognize.”"

Do not read the Qur'ân with understanding, you will go astray. (Fazaael Aamal, “Maulana” Ashraf Ali Thanwi, p. 216)

It is mentioned in Aamaal-e-Qur'aani, p. 134 by Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi [published by Jasim Book Depot, Urdu Bazaar, Jama Masjid, Delhi] that if a woman has excessive menstrual bleeding, the verse (Surah Al-'Imran: 3:144) should be written on three different pieces of paper, one tied on her right and the other on her left and the third piece of paper with the Qur'ânic verse to be hung below the naval. This verse of the Qur'aan, "Muhammad (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful." [Surah Al-'Imran: 3:144]

The holy messenger came to Shah Waliullah (in the 18 century!) and said, “Why do you worry? Your children are the same as mine.” (Ashraf Ali Thanwi, Hikayat-ul-Awlia)

When Shah Waliullah was in his mother’s womb, she said a prayer. Two tiny hands (too) appeared for prayer. She was frightened. Her husband said, "You have Qutubul-Aqtab (Wali of Walis) in your womb (Hikayat-e-Awlia, p. 17 Ashraf Ali Thanwi) What a break-through!

Risala Tazkara of Darul-uloom Deoband of 1965 claims: Anyone suffering from malaria who took dust from the grave of “Maulana” Yaqoob Nanotwi and tied this dust to his body, found instant relief.

Allaah cuts jokes with the Ulama of Deoband. One of them went to a well for “Wudu” (Ablution) He lowered the bucket in the well. It came back full of silver. The Holy man said to Allaah: Don’t kid around! I am getting late for prayers. He lowered the bucket in again and this time it came back full of gold. Dear Al,

I was addressing the query of Mr Jibran.

    7. Al Avatar
      Al

Aamir Mughal: I think you are quoting the Fazail-e-Amal on reading the Quran out of context.

I did some online research because i was surprised at what you claimed was written in the Tableeghi Jamaat books.

This is from the English Translation of "Virtues of Quran" written by Maulana Zakariyah:

      //

"Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ood (Radhiyallaho anho) said, "If you

seek knowledge, you should meditate on the meanings of

the Qur'an, because it embodies the history of former as

well as of latter times." It is, however, essential to observe the prerequisites for interpreting the Qur'an. An unbecoming present-day fashion is that even those who possess little or no knowledge of Arabic vocabulary offer their personal opinion on the basis of vernacular translations of the Qur'an. Specialists have laid down that any one attempting a commentary of the Holy Qur'an should be well versed in fifteen subjects. These, as briefly given below, will show that it is not possible for everybody to understand the underlying significance and real meanings of the Holy Qur'an." //

It says that anyone attempting a COMMENTARY on the Quran should have knowledge of these 15 subjects. These subjects are related to understanding of the Arabic language. And i think this is not an unreasonable expectation from anyone who wants to give commentaries on the Quran.

      ========================

Dear Jibran read the following Gems from books which are taught in Deoband and Bareli Madressahs for your spiritual uplift.

What I have learned through different sources that these Deobandis and Barelvis are basically the same with minor differences they both allegedly follow the Fiqh [Attributed to Imam Abu Haneefah] Hanafi and his followers and books these Deobandi and Barelvi read, quotes of which are as under:

Radd al-Muhtar ala ad-Dur al-Mukhtar is a book on Islam by 19th century Hanafi Scholar Ibn Abidin. A commentary on Imam al-Haskafi’s Durr al-Mukhtar, it is commonly known as Radd al-Muhtar. It is said to be a compilation of the great Fatwas of Imam Abu Hanifa [May Allah have mercy on his soul], and Hidayah is the name of a famous Hanafi juridical work by Burhan-ud-din Ali bin Abi Bakr al-Marghinani (1152-1197) which is considered widely authoritative as a guide to Fiqh amongst Muslims in Central Asia, Afghanistan and India, and is the basis for much of the Anglo-Islamic law in India and Pakistan.

Now read the excerpts from these two Books through which Deobandi and Barelvi Calamity in Pakistan want to Implement Islamic Law. Rampant Lal Mosque Anarchist, Binori Town, Madressah Haqqania, Talibans and other such Anarchist called these perversions mentioned below The Islamic Law!

      ==============================

      Dear Jibran,

Voters of Mawlana Fazlur Rehman are mostly Deobandis now read what Deobandis says about Jamat-e-Islami!!!

Do read Khilafat o Malookiyat [original version and several issues of Tarjumnaul Quran] by Mawdudi Calamity again and differentiate between History and Tabbarrah. Mawdudi, his deviant books and his deviants followers of Jamat-e-Islami were thoroughly exposed by not ILLITERATE Barelvis but leading Deobandi and Wahabi Maulvis read the following books on Mawdudi’s Tabbarah on Sihaba Kiram and Prophets [PBUT].

There is book written “Khilafat wa Malookiyat Ki Tareekhi Aur Shariee Haisiyat [Authenticity and Relity of Caliphat and Kingdom by Mawdudui] by Hafiz Salahuddin Yousuf [Editor of Weekly Eitisaam, Lahore Pakistan , he is a Salafi Scholar and if you get that book then please note that in preface following Deobandi and even Barelvi Scholar praised the above book on the refutation ofr Mawdudi's Deviant and Blasphemic Beliefs regarding the Companions of Prophet Mohammad. You have already praised Deobandi Mullahs in one of your mail and following Mullahs [not ordinary Jahil Taliban] praised the book:

1 – Mufti Muhammad Shafi Usmani [Deobandi]

2 – Justice Taqi Usmani [Deobandi]

3 – Maulana Ziauddin Islahi [Daar ul Musanifeen Azam Garh India]

4 – Maulana Yousuf Ludhiyanvi [Binnori Town – Deobandi]

5 – Maulana Ghulamullah Khan [Rawalpindi – Deobandi]

6 – Dr Israr Ahmed [Former Deputy of Mawdudi]

7 – Maulana Amee Ahsan Islahi [Former number 2 of Mawdudi]

8 – Agha Shoorish Kashmiri [Noted Scholar and Journalist]

9 – Maulana Manzoor Naimani [One of the founder of Jamat-e-Islami and Deobandi scholar and also refuted Mawdudi in his book on Islamic Revolution of Iran]

10 – Safi ur Rahman Mubarakpuri [Author of Prophet Mohammad – PBUH's biography Ar Raheeq Al Makhtoom and he is an Indian Scholar and a Salafi]

11 – Yousuf Saleem Chishti [Deobandi Sufi Scholar]

12 – Maulana Abul Hasan Nadvi [Former Head of Darul Ulomm Deoband and Member Board of Medina University Saudi Arabia]

These are not some illiterate Deobandi Ulema:

1 – Maulana Yousuf Ludhiyanvi – Binnori Town refuted Mawdudi.

2 – Mawlana Yousuf Binnori – Founder of Binnori Town refuted Mawdudi

3 – Mawlana Abdul Majid Daryabadi pupil of Ashraf Ali Thanwi refuted Mawdudi.

Abul Ala Maudoodi and his party have been the subject of fatwas by Ulama of nearly every sect.

Mufti Muhzar-ullah, of Jami Fatehpuri in Delhi, wrote in his fatwa:

“On the very face of it, these things [beliefs of Maudoodi’s party] exclude a Muslim from the Sunnis, and lead to divisions among the believers, and is the basis of making a new sect. But looking closely, these things take one to heresy. In this case, they do not make a new sect, but result in one’s entry into the group of apostates.”

Maulana Hafiz-ullah of Aligarh has written:

“Whatever was the position of the Zarar mosque, similar is the position of this [i.e. Maudoodi’s] party.”

[Note: The Zarar mosque was a mosque built by some hypocrite Muslims in Madina during the Holy Prophet’s time for the purpose of conspiring against Islam].

The word kufr is used about the Zarar mosque in the Holy Quran. Hence the same word applies to these people.

Maulana Izaz Ali, Deobandi, wrote in his fatwa:

“I consider this [i.e. Maudoodi’s] party to be even more harmful for the faith of the Muslims than are the Ahmadis.”

Mufti Sayyid Mahdi Hasan, President-Mufti of the theological school at Deoband, writes in his fatwa:

“If an Imam of a mosque agrees with the views of Maudoodi, it is a hateful matter to pray behind him.”

Maulana Husain Ahmad Madani (Deobandi) wrote in a letter to Maudoodi:

“Your ‘Islamic’ movement is against the righteous tradition in Islam. It is like the [extremist] sects of old such as Mu‘tazila, Khwarij and Rafiz. It resembles modern sects such as Qadiani, Chakralvi [deniers of Hadith], Naturi [rationalist], and Baha’i [i.e. the Baha’i religion]. It seeks to make a new Islam. It is based on principles, beliefs and practices which are against the Sunnis and Islam.”

The Committee of Ulama of Maulana Ahmad Ali wrote in a poster against Maudoodi:

“His reasoning is devilry against the Quran.”

      It is then added:

“May God save all Muslims from Maudoodi and the evil and deceit of his so-called Islamic Party.”

The Mawdudi Calamity! By Maulana Yusuf Ludhiyanwi (RA)
      http://www.central-mosque.com/aqeedah/Mawdudi.htm
The writer of the article, well-recognised by the non-Arab as well as Arab Ulama and a well recognised expert in Firqa-e-Baatila (deviated sects), Moulana Muhammad Yusuf Ludhianwi (RA), has maintained his intellectual honesty by fulfilling his scholarly responsibility of pointing out (criticizing) Mr. Mawdudi. The writer is concerned that Mr. Mawdudi has attacked the very fiber and backbone of Islam by criticizing the illustrious Prophets and building a wall between the Ummah and the Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum). In his constitution, Mr. Mawdudi says, 'No human should be made a measure of truth besides Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam).'. but Allah Ta'ala clearly declares the Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum) as a measure of truth in the innumerable verses of the Qur'aan NS in particular, Chapter 2 verse 13 and chapter 48 (Fath), Verse 29.

Why don't Mullah declare that Iqbal was Kaafir as well because Iqbal denied second coming of Prophet Jesus [PBUH] and Imam Mehdi [Ummah hasn't decided whthere he will be Shia or Sunni]:

Witness Divine descent on your heart’ tower,

Give up the wait for Mahdi or the Messiah!

Allama Iqbal has a very saying about Mehdi’s Image.

thay tu woh aa’ba tumharay tum kya ho

haath per haath dharay muntazir-e-farda ho

      Iqbal,

howi jis key khudi pehlay baidar, hay wohi mehdi

He wrote in a poem in Armaghan-e-Hijaz

“Is the son of Mary dead, or does he live?

Are Divine attributes separate from God, or one with His Person?… See More

Is the Coming one the Nazarene Jesus, or a Mujaddid having the son of Mary’s qualities?

Are the Divine words created, or pre-existing from eternity, In which belief does lie the salvation of the Ummah?

Are not sufficient for the Muslims today, These Lat and Manat [idols] carved out by theology.”

One of the letter of Allama Iqbal from Iqbal Nama has this text:

“I can only tell you what I believe. I consider the Hadith reports about the Mahdi, the coming Messiah, and mujaddidiyya, to be derived from Persian and non-Arab conceptions. They have no connection with Arab concepts or the true spirit of the Quran.”

In Baqiyat Iqbal, p. 451… See More

“Look for the descent of God upon the minaret of your own heart,

And give up waiting even for the Mahdi or Jesus.”

      In Khutba-e-Madras

“As far as I understand the meaning of this movement, the Ahmadis believe that Jesus died the death of a mortal human being, and the return of the Messiah refers to a person who bears spiritual similarity to him. This belief gives this movement a rational appearance.”

Sheikh M Ikram in one of his books Mauj Kausar, Aab-e-Kausar and Rood-e-Kausar had written that if Hanafis Law Book Fatawa-e-Alamgiri's Apostasy Law is fully implemented then nobody would remain Muslims in the Sub Continent.

    Pakistan's Medieval Constitution

    6/21/10

It is the only Muslim nation to explicitly define who is or is not a 'Muslim.'

In the early hours of May 28, Khalid Solangi was shaken awake by his wife. She told him that she'd heard news of a bloody attack on two Ahmadi mosques in Pakistan. Khalid's older brother, an Ahmadi Muslim American, had recently flown to Lahore for a wedding and they feared he was one of the victims. "My wife said to me, 'Your brother has never missed the Friday prayer.'"

And so Khalid dialed his sister-in-law's number. She confirmed the worst: Her husband had called from his cellphone minutes earlier, asking her to pray for him and the others trapped inside the mosque. "The next thing we heard was that my brother had been martyred," said Khalid. "He had gone to Pakistan for a wedding. He didn't even live there."

When the dust from the bombs settled and the Taliban gunmen stopped their shooting, nearly 100 innocent Muslims lay dead inside the mosques where they had gathered for Friday prayer. This wasn't the first act of terror committed against this minority Muslim sect.

Since 1953, when the first anti-Ahmadi riots broke out in newly independent Pakistan, the Ahmadi community has lived under constant threat. In 1974, Pakistan amended its constitution to declare Ahmadis non-Muslims.

Ten years later, among a slew of anti-blasphemy laws—one of them famously known as "Ordinance XX"—the military dictator Zia ul-Haq made it a crime for Ahmadis to call themselves Muslims. They were forbidden from declaring their faith publicly, using the traditional Islamic greeting, and referring to their places of worship as mosques. In short, virtually any public act of worship or devotion by an Ahmadi can be treated as a criminal offense punishable by death.

Unsurprisingly, attacks on the Ahmadi community followed. In 2005 eight Ahmadis were gunned down in a mosque in a small town in Punjab, Pakistan's most populous province. A year later a mob burned down Ahmadi homes and shops in a small village in the province, forcing more than a 100 Ahmadis to flee.

Last winter, while I was home in Lahore, I drove to a beige building near my house to get my passport renewed. The officer, in a small effort to assist me, made Xs next to the lines that needed my signature. First I signed the badly photocopied sheet, again and again. Then I found myself being asked to confirm that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad—a 19th century Punjabi reformer and founder of the Ahmadi movement—was an "imposter."

This is standard. Every Pakistani Muslim applying for a passport must sign a statement deriding Ahmad, but I had forgotten about the procedure.

I asked the officer what would happen if I didn't sign above the line. He looked at me blankly: "You don't want passport?"

Later that day I went with my friends to a restaurant in Old Lahore—the city's historic quarter—where cramped alleys lead to centuries-old Mughal mosques, forts and gateways. We ate kebabs and shared a hookah. On our way home, passing Lahore's busiest road, I saw a banner on a building facing the Lahore High Court: "Jews, Christians and Ahmadis are enemies of Islam." We passed a patch of grass where a bronze statue of Queen Victoria had once stood. It has been replaced by a tall glass box containing a Quran.

That the Ahmadi movement agrees with every tenet of Islam, save the additional belief that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad came to the Muslim community as a promised messiah, is irrelevant. The legal system has left minorities such as Christians and Hindus, and within Islam, Ahmadis and Shiites, socially and politically isolated.

Routinely, the graffiti along Lahore's stylish boulevards will proclaim that Shiites are infidels. More than 100 Christian houses were burned in a town in central Pakistan last year over a claim that a Christian had defiled the Quran. That same year, 37 Ahmadis were charged under the blasphemy laws.

    Hate Speech

A strong case can be made against the JI leader for fomenting aggression and religious persecution under the country’s laws regarding hate speech and incitement to violence. – Photo on file

The street power and political clout wielded by Pakistan’s religious right have resulted in the state and society being held hostage by extremist elements. The latter stop at nothing to further their agenda of inciting hatred, divisiveness and violence. The latest example is that of the Jamaat-i-Islami chief, Syed Munawwar Hasan, who during a sermon in Lahore on Friday threatened a fresh movement against the Ahmadi community if it “did not accept their minority status” and the government kept silent about “their blasphemous and unconstitutional activities”.

Mr Hasan did not specify any particular instance substantiating his charges, leading one to read his comments as hate speech and also as an attempt to blackmail the government into further victimising an already persecuted community. Given the incendiary passions the issue arouses, any call by religious parties in this context is certain to be attended by violence. A strong case can be made against the JI leader for fomenting aggression and religious persecution under the country’s laws regarding hate speech and incitement to violence.

Even beyond this particular case, it has now become a matter of urgency that the government show an active and uncompromising stance on the issue of hate speech and incitement to violence or other sorts of criminal activity. Pakistan’s polity is already rent by religious, ethnic and sectarian divisions. Allowing irresponsible and divisive opinions to be aired publicly will deepen these fissures. Once it begins, the process of religious, ethnic and other communities being pitted against one another will prove difficult to bring under control. Spiralling violence, particularly in view of other issues being faced by the country such as militancy and terrorism, can then be expected. It is in the interests of both the state and citizenry to take a stand against inflammatory hate speech and lobby for the prosecution of those who break the law.
