The Great Game –The Count Down Begins !

In its December issues Global Research of Canada in a series of articles by Prof. Michel Chossudovsky outlined the American design for the break up of Pakistan. I give below the gist of his remarkably till now accurate analysis(with a few comments of my own),in the hopes that it serves as an eye opener for my country men- and my friends in India.

The report states that due to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto the process of US sponsored “regime change”, which normally consists in the re-formation of a fresh proxy government under new leaders, has been defeated. Their trusted ally General Pervez Musharraf – having been exposed – cannot long remain in the seat of political power. More over the fake elections supported by the “west” scheduled for January 2008 would now only create a political impasse.

“Regime change” with a view to ensuring continuity under military rule is therefore no longer the main thrust of US foreign policy. Continuity, characterized by the dominant role of the Pakistani military and intelligence has been scrapped. Washington’s foreign policy course now is to actively promote the political fragmentation and balkanization of Pakistan as a nation.

This course entails fermenting economic, social, ethnic and factional divisions and political fragmentation, including the territorial breakup of Pakistan. Already in 2005, a report by the US National Intelligence Council and the CIA forecast a “Yugoslav-like fate” for Pakistan; it emphasized that, “Pakistan is slated to become a “failed state” by 2015, ” pointing to the impacts of “economic mismanagement” as one of the causes of political break-up and balkanization.

There are obvious similarities in the nature of US covert intelligence operations applied in country after country in different parts of the so-called “developing World”. These covert operations, including the organization of military coups, are often synchronized with the imposition of IMF-World Bank macro-economic reforms. In this way, Yugoslavia’s federal fiscal structure was made to collapse in 1990 leading to mass poverty and heightened ethnic and social divisions. The US and NATO then sponsored a “civil war” in mid-1991.This consisted in supporting Islamic groups as well as channeling covert support to separatist paramilitary armies in Bosnia, Kosovo and Macedonia.

A similar “civil war” scenario has been envisaged for Pakistan by the National Intelligence Council and the CIA. This plan for dismemberment of Pakistan hinges around three basic objectives to be achieved:

  1. Economic Disruption.
  2. Political Disruption.
  3. Military Disruption.

Economic Disruption.“Economic mismanagement” is a term used by the Washington based international financial institutions to describe the chaos which results from not fully abiding by the IMF’s Structural Adjustment Program. In actual fact, the “economic mismanagement” and chaos is the outcome of IMF-World Bank prescriptions, which invariably trigger hyperinflation and precipitate indebted countries into extreme poverty.

Pakistan has been subjected to the same deadly IMF “economic medicine” as Yugoslavia: In 1999, in the immediate wake of the coup d’Etat which brought General Pervez Musharaf to the helm of the military government, an IMF economic package, which included currency devaluation and drastic austerity measures, was imposed on Pakistan. Musharaf’s Finance Minister was chosen by Wall Street. Shaukat Aziz, a vice-president of Citigroup, who at the time was head of CitiGroup’s Global Private Banking. (See WSWS.org, 30 October 1999).

Pakistan’s external debt is of the order of US$40 billion. The IMF’s “debt reduction” under the package was conditional upon the sell-off to foreign capital of the most profitable State owned enterprises (including the huge copper and gold reserves and the oil and gas facilities in Balochistan) at rock bottom prices . As a result of IMF induced reforms the economy is expected to remain in a nose dive.

Pakistan has a federal structure based on federal provincial transfers. Under a federal fiscal structure, the central government transfers financial resources to the provinces, with a view to supporting provincial based programs. When these transfers are frozen due to a near collapse of the economy as occurred in Yugoslavia in January 1990, the federal fiscal structure collapses………. ensuring the de facto secession of the provinces. (Michel Chossudovsky, the Globalization of Poverty and the New World Order, Second Edition, Global Research, Montreal, 2003, Chapter 17.)

Political Disruption. Pakistan is to be given a compliant political leadership, with no commitment to the national interest, a leadership which will serve US imperial interests, while concurrently contributing under the disguise of “decentralization”, to the weakening of the central government and the fracture of Pakistan’s fragile federal structure. Thus ‘provincial autonomy” is to be the focal point of politics. It is part of an evolving US foreign policy agenda, which favors disruption and disarray in the structures of the Pakistani State. Social, ethnic and factional divisions being contributory factors to political disruption, sectarian and ethnic riots and killings will be encouraged and aided to maximize and speed up the process of political disruption.

Military Disruption. The ISI and the armed forces of Pakistan should be seen as ‘the enemy’ particularly in NWFP, Sindh and Baluchistan. Indirect rule by the Pakistani military and intelligence apparatus is to be then replaced by more direct forms of US interference and control over politicians, with a view to an expanded US military presence inside Pakistan.

To this end British intelligence is allegedly providing covert support to Balochistan separatists (which from the outset have been repressed by Pakistan’s military). In June 2006, Pakistan’s Senate Committee on Defense accused British intelligence of “abetting the insurgency in the province bordering Iran” [Balochistan]..(Press Trust of India, 9 August 2006). Ten British MPs were involved in a closed door session of the Senate Committee on Defense regarding the alleged support of Britain’s Secret Service to Baloch separatists (Ibid). Also of relevance are reports of CIA and Mossad support to Baloch rebels in Iran and Southern Afghanistan.

Also in the NWFP and Afghanistan CIA is playing a double game. It allegedly continues working with RAW to support drug traders and regain support with Pakistani Taliban (pakhtoons) type ‘criminal’ armies lost due to their initial support of the Northern alliance. The aim being to encourage them to fight Pakistan’s armed forces and also use them for carrying out suicide blasts throughout Pakistan. On the other hand CIA is also alleged to be working with ISI to encourage terrorist activity in India. Only on the 19th of this month a hue and cry arose in India over the activities of Kenneth Haywood. There is growing anger there over the mysterious way in which this American visitor, whose laptop computer has been linked to the recent blasts in Ahmedabad, was allowed to leave the country before he could be questioned.

From the point of view of US intelligence, which has a longstanding experience in abetting separatist “liberation armies”, in Yugoslavia and else where ; the lessons need to be applied to the dismemberment of the two nuclear powers of the sub-continent. The count down to the great game has started; let’s see where the follies of our respective leaders lead to.

I am sure many ‘gentlemen’ will point their guns at me once again but lets us analyise how the so-called American plan started in Pakistan.

    1. Baluchistan was a peaceful place before Musharraff, the problem began when a Capt of Pakistan army raped Dr. Shazia Khalid, Bugti’s demanded a case and trial against Hammad who is rummored to be a relative of Pervez Musharraff and was given a safe passage.

    Was it an isolated incident?

Obviously it was a part of big game and a reaction was not expected from Bugti’s, rather then punishing the culprit Musharraff supported him on every forum and there was exchange of threats between Bugti Chief, Sardar Akbar and Musharraff, ultimately Musharraff killed Bugti and entire Baluchistan went in to hands of anti Pakistan elemsnts, who are financed and armed by Americans, Indians and Karzai.

This is the first point to prove that Musharraff played a CIA game and pushed a provance in to fire.

    2. Baitullah Mehsud was released from Guantana Mo Bay, he was given a free hand, agencies kept mum, when he was recruting his army, let me clarify here that in Tribal Area’s agencies have unbeileveably strong presence, anyone who belongs to tribal areas will second me, Baitullah is working for CIA and recently a Pakistani official made following comments,

‘Pakistani officials, according to the newspaper, “have long been intrigued by the presence of highly encrypted communications gear with Mehsud. This communication gear enables him to collect real-time information on Pakistani troop movements from an unidentified foreign source without being intercepted by Pakistani intelligence.

Now we are on a stage where Baitullah is providing un intrupted support for CIA, who is responsible here not to take action against these so called Mullah’s in beganing?

Obviously it was Musharraff who gave them a free hand and didnt took action when they were recruting a parallel malatia against Pakistan with US $.

This is second evidance to Prove that Musharraff was on CIA payrole and a part of ‘greater middle east agenda’.

    3. The Lal masjid issue, the mullah was backed by Ijaz ul Haq, he was given land meant for public purposes, in middle of Islamabad he was allowed arms, recruitments and establish his own state, where were agencies?

And the way Lal Masjid opretion was conducted killing hundreds of innocent girls which belonged to poor and under previlleged families of NWFP, this was the third part of ‘grand plan’ to push Pakistan in to war with militants in Afghanistan.

Where we agencies and why the Chief Exective and a dictator didnt act when this all recuritment and arming process was going on and when the MINISTERS of dictator were visiting the retard Mullah in Lal Masjid?

This is the third evidance that Musharaff played a role as asigned by CIA.

    What we can do?

I challange entire Civil Society of Pakistan and all Political parties to try their best and demand a trial of Capt Hammad, or an investigation of Lal masjid or Murder of Bugti, if you all togather succeed, I will give up my nationality!

What to talk about trying a former dictator and a general.

Why Army didnt come to rescue Musharraff is explained by above statement of Pakistani officials, now ISI and Pakistan Army have realised that our very existance is at stake but no body have a courage to challange American supramacy and try their agents.

    What we can do?

Simply, understand the conciparicy, be united against it, as we all know the US is not our friend and its puppets are not in our reach, give politicians a fair chance of damage control and bring people togather and give full support to Pakistan Army on their anti national struggle.

The process is lengthy and needs planning and unity, otherwise we are going to be slaves, nukes wont help us and militant political religious leaders traitor generals and sell out politicians will push us to a hell.

God Bless Pakistan and guide us to understand whats good for 170 million innocent people.

With appologies, let me add a bit on economic issue, other day in an other article, one retard came up with salognas and ‘will’ to conquer US.

Our ‘rserves’ stand around 9-10 Billion US$, we have to pay Sauidi Arabi US$ 6.9 Billion for the deffered payments of oil in past 9 years, which we bought but did not paid. It was a part of grand plan, kings of KSA act and survive on US and CIA instructions.

While we were getting oil on loans we were telling world about our prosparity, apart from what we got by selling Pakistani’s.

Our trade deficiat is nearing US$ 1 Billion a month and we are not able to stop our exports because of our trade agreements with rest of the world.

Now, if plug is pulled, we have to pay almost 7 Billion to KSA, meet with forign loans installments which were never paid but reschaduled and face trade deficit of 1 Billion US$ a month.

We will be a bankrupt nation before three months as our reserves are not able to meet with the liabilities, and still we have to oblige the investors who invested in our Bonds and Promisery notes.

Power shortage and polictial instability coupled with out-flow of foreign exchange are adding in the pain.

If the situation continues, political government will become unpopular in no time, another GENERAL of CIA’s payrole will takeover and courts wont be able to protect those in unifrom to stand against ‘grand plan, and we will follow the fate as planned by US.

All intellectuals here are requested to look in to these facts, do their own analysis and see whats better for our future, undoubtedly, we deserve perfection like any other civilised society but how can we survive to achive that perfection is equally important.

To Silence: Bless you mon ami, bless you…in short as I have said all along, they got us by the balls.
Zardari, Sharif, Mush and al. are all enablers, the whole bunch of them; there is no salvation in the present leadership. The only hope for us is that imperial powers might crumble under the weight of their own over reach, power intoxication or economic mismanagement, but they very well might take us down with them any way. Sorry, sounds pessimistic but under the circumstances this is what I see. There is a huge “wanted” sign hanging on the country. NEED AN HONEST AND PATRIOTIC LEADER, VERY VERY URGENTLY.

Silence,The problem with giving politicians a chance is that they have been hoisted on to us precisely to ensure that we dont stand a chance.they are their to play to the tune of their US masters. That is why such a long delay in the restoration of the judiciary;Safe passage for Musharaaf
abd no attention at all for the past over five months to the other real problems facing the nation and the common man. And as for the law and order we have now killing or attempt to kill a leader or a bomb blast every day since musharaaf left….Relate this to…Political Disruption. Pakistan is to be given a compliant political leadership, with no commitment to the national interest, a leadership which will serve US imperial interests, while concurrently contributing under the disguise of “decentralization”, to the weakening of the central government and the fracture of Pakistan’s fragile federal structure….Social, ethnic and factional divisions being contributory factors to political disruption, sectarian and ethnic riots and killings will be encouraged and aided to maximize and speed up the process of political disruption.
WE Have such a government and conditions now!
