Guest Post by Silence from Islamabad Observer
United States-led NATO forces killed 15 tribesmen, including women and children, in it’s first-ever ground attack inside Pakistani territory on Wednesday. The US forces landed by 3 choppers inside Pakistani village of Musa Neeke in South Waziristan Agency (SWA). The soldiers started indiscriminate firing with their automatic assault rifles at the sleeping inmates and shot dead nine family members of Faujan Wazir, including four women, two children and three men. The troops also killed another villager, Faiz Mohammad Wazir, his wife and two of his other family members.
Prime Minister of Pakistan and President has strongly condemned the unprovoked and cowardly act while the Senate, National Assembly and NWFP provincial assembly passed unanimous resolutions condemning the killing of innocent civilians and demanded the suspension of logistic support to US forces in Afghanistan. “We reserve the right of self-defence and retaliation to protect our citizens and soldiers against any aggression,” remarked Maj Murad, an ISPR officer based in Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani condemned the attack. “I have already raised the issue of repeated predator attacks by the coalition forces with the federal government,” the governor said, adding, “This is a direct assault on the sovereignty of Pakistan and the people expect that the armed forces of Pakistan would rise to defend the sovereignty of the country and give a befitting reply to all such attacks.” Such attacks, he added, hurt the pro-government and peaceful sentiments among the people of targeted areas.
Unfortunately, this is not the first attack on sovereignty of Pakistan, a key ally in war on terror, who has lost more troops since war began then the collective causalities suffered by US lead collation. Predator attacks by US lead forces were a common practice in Pervez Musharraff’s regime, which were mostly directed at innocent civilians. These unprovoked attacks on civilian population which have nothing to do with Taliban have badly hurt the pro-government sentiments in locals.
Continuous killing of innocent women and children by US lead forces serve no other purpose except breeding the sentiment of revenge in Tribal population. The family members of victim are later recruited as suicide bombers by US backed militants for attacks inside Pakistan. These suicide attackers have badly hurt the economy and investment climate in country. The foreign reserves are declining sharply and stock markets are heading nose down while foreign investment has come to a halt.
Not a single attack was directed at Baitullah Mehsud and his militants who are responsible for every suicide bombing inside Pakistan, despite the fact that Pakistani agenies provided details of his exect location to US lead collation, rather they are being facilitated by Kabul based US-India nexus. Ther previous dictatorial regime never raised a voice on this issue in fear of loosing US support. Not a surprise, the timing of this attack is when the presidential election is just two days away which will complete the democratic process. This is first ever land attack on Pakistani soil after newly elected government launched a full scale operation against US backed militant groups.
After presidential election, Pakistan seriously needs to re-consider her foreign policy and role in war against terror. US is encircling Pakistan from several fronts, through facilitating the militants by providing them local support against government and at the same time pushing her in to economic collapse with suicide attacks from Kabul based militants. If the present situation continues, there is going to be no alternate then a direct conflict, but by that time, Pakistan will loose too much in terms of economy and support of local population.
There is no reason for avoiding inevitable, if it’s going to be a direct conflict then let it be on your timing rather then playing on enemy ground and becoming a victim of delay. The newly elected government will have to choose from dying in installments and facing inevitable. In present situation war with Pakistan will be a costly bid for US, as she is not yet out of Iraq mess and her presidential elections are scheduled later this year.
At this point of time an immediate suspension of logistic support from Pakistan to US forces in Afghanistan might serve the purpose, leaving two enemies of Pakistan, Al-Qaida and US, to decide each others fate. Obviously, Pakistan will have to pay the price of such decision in economic terms; US will use every measure to hurt Pakistan’s trade and investment. This nation has survived the US sanctions and tough times before and is still capable of facing any challenge posed to our sovereignty. The only thing we need is a will of leadership to take tough decisions and protect our borders and innocent women and children.
After today’s cowardly attacks on Pakistani soil, government and armed forces have taken a serious note and all political parties have shown maturity by unanimously announcing support for government against any foreign aggression or internal conspiracies. If the newly elected President comes clear and asks the support of nation, there must be no doubt that people will stand with government facing any tough time ahead with courage. This seems to be only way for an honorable existence and is much better then humiliating attacks on our land and collecting dead bodies of our women and children.

I don’t see how such a blatant ground offensive is ‘cowardly’, by the way.
Do you really think the United States relies on our logistic support in Afghanistan? We don’t even have accurate maps. They give us logistic support in our own Tribal Areas – and we’re still so ineffective, the world believes we’re doing it on purpose.
What makes you think we can withdraw from this war? How will we deal with the Al Qaeda on this side of the border? If we let them re-enter Afghanistan, the US will take action. That’s precisely the case right now.
We reserve the right of self-defence and retaliation to protect our citizens and soldiers against any aggression….
Bull Shit!!!
Pani Pani kar gaee mujhko
Qalandar kee yai baat,
Too Jhukaa jab gher kai agey,
Naa tunn teraa naa mann
Pagal,
Pakistan route supplies 90% of logastic support to NATO in Afghanistan.
“Honorable Existence” requires honorable leaders, Pakistan has always been blessed by the most despicable, disloyal and dishonorable leaders, the latest batch is just the new gang of the very same lot.
Pakistan Government and Parliament: We condemn the US military actions on our territory and we will not tolerate such actions. HUM IS KI BHARPOOR MAZAMAT KARTAIN HAIN.
US Ambassador and US Government: So what are you gonna do about it? Kiss our ass, shut the F%&K up or we will pull the plug!
Pakistan Government and Parliament: Okay
There, there is our “HONOR”.
Silence,
You really got me on this one…
“Pakistan cuts ‘logastic supplies’ to NATO forces first time in past decade.
A breaking news on JEO TV.”
I went and checked all the news sites but alas!!
Your writings tell me that you are still very young and hence still dream a lot. There is no harm in dreaming and if that keeps you going, Keep dreaming. At least someone among us is happy.
Pakistan cuts 'logastic supplies' to NATO forces first time in past decade.
A breaking news on JEO TV.
Please hail the decision of newly elected government and show your support, for domestic matters we will be fighting for ever, at least for national intrests we have to be united.
US has released 365 million $ of overdue payments for last year.
Silence I wrote on this issue a few weeks back;and clearly laid out the US plan as dismemberment of Pakistan through a weakening of it’s economic as well as the federal structure; and getting the people and some Islamist fighters(mostly American funded Taliban)to consider the Army and ISI as the enemy.
I also agreed with what you say here that since we had to fight one day anyway, better sooner rather then later; But now it is too late -Zardari and Co are dollar crazed people and even more in the American lap then Musharaaf;plus the Islamists Jehadists(and again I suspect it is the American funded ones)have done their job too well by souring our relations with China-not that Musharaafs government didn’t help!I had always believed China was our best friend as our economic and political interests coincided the most.
But now it is too late, American lovers are in the chair!!Even the chief justice will not be restored as the US so commands- expecting these stooges show the type of spine you expect is an impossibility. So just watch helplessly now,as the few genuine resistors to US imperialism are butchered in the name of war against terrorism -and what remains of Pakistan Americanised like the Philippines.
Chohan,
It is true 30 trucks of American supplies have been stopped. The frontier government has done this,as the area is unsafe due to Talibans specific threat in the region.
Of course this is only a bit of indirect posturing. And the vehicles will resume the supply in time!!
Can’t win in Afghanistan? Attack Pakistan

good insightful article by eric must read
2day is Pak presidential election most likely Zardari is most fav among all. lets go and pray Allah may give him enough strength to wash out his past sins and he also get pak out from this US hell. aar ya paar. Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain.
There are always two groups of people in every nation;
1. Who believes in better future, spread hope and courage,
2. Those who posses loosers mindset, spread negativity and hopelessness in society.
The later mind set is growing fast in oursociety, a bunch of loosers, sit in front of screens and spread hopelessness in others, blaming others for their personla failure and in national matters. Some times, its not actually Pakistani guys, but some enemies of Pakistan will employ such people to spread negativity and hopelessness and some of our youth will get in to that trap.
Let us see, why no general ever dare to impose martial law in USA? Although they are better equipped and well trained as compared to third world armies.
The simple answer is that American people will hand them with nearest lamp post.
Similarly, why Sauidi’s whith all oil wealth can not get out of clutches of Kings? The reason is that they deserve it, the hope for change and making their own decision is dead for centuries.
Lets see it from another view:
Why Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not nominated a successor?
He knew that as long as his nation is rightous, they will choose rightous leaders, when they become loosers, they will choose the worst looser amongst them.
Similarly: Khalid Bin Walid, the best general, was called to step down in middle of war, but there was always a victory for Muslim.
Botomline: It is not the leader who wins or takes nations forward, its people themselves who decide their fate.
Its not the American leaders who made them the super power and its not Afghan leaders who pushed them in to destruction, its people of two states.
Once again, I believe that if we are good, we deserve good and will get good, if we are loosers, hopeless and spread negativity, we will get negative and people like us.
I hope we start thinking seriously over it, the least we can do is gift our people with a little bit hope and courage, rather then disappointment and negativity.
IN any army, the defeated people who surrender are told to leave……the reason is: if they stay they will spread their loosers mindset in others as well…..I think its time we start discouraging the hopeless loosers……start working for a better future and give others hope.
Here is something which makes me believe that we are still a nation who is alive and have a bright furture…
Pakistan cuts supply lines to Nato forces

BARA: In a major development, the federal government on Friday announced disconnection of supply lines to the allied forces stationed in Afghanistan through Pakistan in an apparent reaction to a ground attack on a border village in South Waziristan agency by the Nato forces.
Political authorities of the Khyber Agency claimed to have received verbal directives to immediately halt transportation of all kinds of goods meant for the US-led Nato forces in Afghanistan for an indefinite period.
Authorities claimed the decision was taken in the wake of the growing unrest in the Khyber Agency that provides for the only ground link of the country to the war-torn Afghanistan. “Until now, drivers of the vehicles carrying goods meant for the foreign forces in Afghanistan were directed to reach the tribal agency between 7am to 10am, which were then escorted to the border town of Torkhum by the Khassadar force,” the authorities told The News.
The authorities claimed that due to repeated attacks on the personnel of the Khassadar forces during the last one week and abduction of a few personnel, it had become difficult for the security forces to provide foolproof security to the supply lines.
Independent sources, however, claimed that the government feared retaliation by the tribesmen against a recent ground attack conducted by the Nato forces in Angoor Adda of the South Waziristan Agency that triggered condemnation from various quarters, including the government of Pakistan itself.
NWFP Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani had likened the attack to an aggression against a sovereign state, saying the people of the country expected the Pakistan Army to give a befitting reply to the attack. He said that some twenty innocent people lost their lives — most of them were women and children.
The US government had accepted responsibility for the attack but did not offer any apology for the same and instead announced to launch more such attacks against the militants across the border, if so required in future.
Silence,
Come on dude, be honest. You belonged to the looser mindset when Musharraf ruled and didn’t like the Governor because he had an FIR against him(Hakeem Saeed). Now you have become saint of hope because your party (PPP) is in power and since Zardari has hijacked PPP, you will support him.
We don’t mind, may be he has changed or may be based on his past character he is still a looser? who knows the future?
2nd thing about people making a country great. FYI, when Khalid bin Waleed was asked to step down, he didn’t step down until the victory was achieved. And whoever replaced Khalid Bin Waleed was still a good leader(AbuObeida). BTW Khalid Bin Waleed didn’t become Khalid Bin Waleed until there was a leader like Muhammad (S.A.W.W). It does start from the leader.
For American people, they had great leaders who laid the foundations of the country. Abraham Lincon and other great dealers did not resember Zardari. They didn’t murder people (Nabi Sher Junejo), they didn’t put bomb on peoples ankles to get ransom.
Again, for Zardari we don’t have any choice all we can do is hope Allah do some kind of miracle and change his heart or replace him with a better DICTATOR. Who knows?
But to close eyes and become a blind follower of Zardari because he is the widower of BB is not worth suppressing the conscience.
Take it easy dude, drink some cold water or go breath some fresh air. Don’t let Zardari phobia ruin your intellect.
Silence belongs to PPP= Pak Persuasive Perversity. I made an acronym from my siyasi mind whether you call it looser or gooser mind but what to do now middelclass sit on Zardari sb d*ck which i didn’t like actually when Altaf Raja see his d*ck free after BB death he chose 1st to tune it Anyway.
Well I personally wouldn’t like to see him as a Pak President despite I’ve got one friend of mine whose younger bro name Atif Baloch got PPP ticket for MPA seat.
Atif Baloch elder bro Kashif Baloch was my bossom friend and I spent my life most memorable times with him and we did MBA together from Hamdard uni.we live in khi.
His father belongs to Larkana side rather Mirpur Mathelo and a staunch supporter of PPP due to his father influence in sindh assembly and his father holds saudi nationality and doing good business there.
They’re sindhi-balochi.He has got many identities/nationalities like Sindhi Balochi,Saudi as well as Pakistani. He got married on 18/8/007.
I met him last time dated 22/12/007 and I found him pretty happy and willing to do something for his country but unfortunately that brilliant guy turned Late due to sordid-siyasat
When he was returning from BB funeral around 7:30 PM, firing started between Jatoi and PPP group and one fire hit his right rib and crossover from his heart and get out from his left rib and demise occur on the spot.
That was another shock after BB and I hardly bear dis due to my closeness with him so because of BB and Kashif Baloch Shaheed I wanna see Zardari a President of Pakistan.
If you ask me my choice I’d nominate to myself for dis president position I can do it…hahaha am i foolish? am i looser? to do that Job..
Guys cool down. why fight amongst each other? clearly u all feel for Pakistan and want to do something about it. So any ideas, suggestions about it? why blame the present ( or past ) lot of politicians? question is what are we doing about it? are we ready to stand up and be counted ? any one ?
i dont know wy i feel much comfortable after this last election..wat i feel that smehow democracy is actually restored in pakistan..it is same democracy which have proved mr zardari as a fully justified president of pakistan.i smetimes feel ashamed n smetime amazed at we do.i elect the person through such n ovewhelming majority n we say things discouriging abt them.we throw many huge burdens of corruption on mr zardari bt are never been able to prove any of such.im not actually a supporter of zardari bt talki on the facts.
ppl now we r actually bound to accecpt him our president no matter wat he does or not ..our fate is really in the hands of sme countable personalities who can for thier own political n house hold interest play with us..i wana say that just make ur selves up ..wy not to throw our own youth party which doest not stand at these families politics , a true kind of civilian people ..plz think of this
anwaar u r right. yes. why not have a party of middle class professionals? anyone interested?
