Today at CBC office MPA Samar Ali Khan and his team went to strongly argue for the water supply in this area, There is already a water crisis in the area, to make matters worse CBC has decided to charge an additional Rs 500 from all water tankers coming into the area, taxpayers, who already are paying water tax for “no-water” have the right to protest this
The Additional CEO was very abusive to all attendees including to the MPA, and asked them to immediately leave his offices, all stood their ground, the CFO then scampered off to the CEO’s office claiming that 100’s of people have ransacked his offices, the video will show a normal number of people peacefully arguing the issue of water.
After a few hours of stand-off PTI has decided to launch a stronger protest on Thursday morning 8:30am at CBC offices
Water supply is a menace, a constant battle with the crooks from PPP and KW&SB (fully infused with PPP & MQM bhartis) they run this tanker mafia to make millions each day depriving genuine Pakistanis from the basic fundamental rights of water.
Dr Arif Alvi along with Samar Khan and Khurrum Sher Zaman with their entire team who visited Dhabeji and Pipri last week to see the situation there – water supply is “a bit better” from their previous visits but ironically not much of a difference is seen in our areas – because these hydrants siphon off the water well before it reaches the city
To simply shut down these hydrants is not the entire solution as the problem will persist, as previously with efforts of Dr Arif and his team of MP’s they had shut down (via SHC) a few hydrants – but quite immediately more propped up further up the line (like this one) & immediately drove the prices upwards – this vicious cycle shall continue, since the PPP Looters and the Miskeen MQM (despite all their crying wolf & screams) contribute to making themselves millions, help protect this mafia, while depriving Karachiites of their basic human necessity of water. My mother Samina Alvi distributing clothes to Footpath School children — a school established during the day under the Abdullah shah Ghazi / Bahria Town flyover for local street children
She’s been amazing force along with the amazing volunteers of the NA250 education team on rebuilding many govt schools – her next series of projects is to adopt dilapidated govt hospital / medical centres and allow donors to adopt and run them — connect with her if you would like to pitch In for fixing the education or health infrastructure of the area
All this being done ZERO govt / public money and totally on good faith philanthropy to fix Public Schools and Hospitals Continue Reading
Another example of fixing the education system by the NA250 team – Thank you to the numerous volunteers in the PTI NA250 education team – we need to keep highlighting your brilliant and tireless efforts –
Living in Karachi, for all Karachiites is a life under constant threat from the Bori-Bhatta mafia & also others, that probably for us all is a normal routine, but more recently the threat levels have escalated and he has been keeping the recent issues under the carpet for quite a few weeks, but im glad after some long drawn discussion & debate Dr Arif Alvi finally decided to open the pandora’s box today in the National Assembly.
As I narrated yesterday the problem of MQM lies elsewhere (read London) – a narration of what happened that lead to the resignation – knowing Bhai this scenario is quiet possible – I only miss the fact that it was not nationally televised to hear the anger / and the bang in-your-face hang up
“DAWN: On late Tuesday night the national and provincial level parliamentarians (in Karachi and in Islamabad) gathered for a meeting along with members of the coordination committee and some participants from the US. In their various locations, they were addressed by the party chief from London.
Some senior MQM leaders joined the meeting from the US while the MQM members of the National Assembly and the Senate were listening from the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad. Members of the coordination committee were present in Karachi and London.
And a severe dressing down followed.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain lashed out at them for their cowardice and betrayal. Unclear on how to placate their party leader, the elected members offered to resign and to the shock and surprise of some of them, he agreed before banging the phone on them.
Mr Hussain who had worked himself up into a state of rage by then said that the parliamentarians could do whatever they wanted and hung up.”
In other news MQM to resign from National Assemblies – To be honest, thats a stupid move, all my differences with them, I think its an idiotic decision, my honest opinion is the problem lies elsewhere (read London)
Many in Karachi feel, Karachi is getting better (sans a few horrific incidents) but general direction of establishing peace in Karachi is on the right track and many militants are being rooted out – that said the entire Pakistan knows that MQM has harboured militants who established a Bhatta-Bori culture for the past 26+ years – this Bhatta-Bori menace sadly hijacked the “Muhajir” rally cry to turn it into a militant party (at least in the eyes of all Pakistanis)
Solution simply lies in the parhay likhay leadership (if any left) to allow the Karachi cleanup progress to its full culmination, the party itself will stand to gain as the ruthless, lawless elements who had destroyed MQM will get cleansed out, its about time many fall into this trap and Karachi returns to a life back into the romantic city called the city of lights.
I request all Karachiites to stand aside and let the Karachi cleanup operation continue, for the future of this city, it has to be done, some (read, very few) may be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but sadly, TOO many – thousands of innocent Karachiites – have succumbed / Killed to these Bori-Bhatta mafias sadly being killed for being in the wrong place, at the wrong time
MQM – Aman Committee – ANP – Talibans – and anyone else harbouring militants need to be expunged from Karachi entirely – no if’s and but’s please, no humaray karkun – anyone and everyone should be swiped
Only a few hours before his hanging (MQM leader / Activist) Saulat Mirza, a confessional video is aired which exposes the MQM fully as a Terrorist party that has besieged Karachi – he confesses to having killed KESC MD on the direct instructions from Senator Babar Ghauri and Altaf Hussain – amongst other many confessions.
This is a damming peace of evidence fully exposing the MQM and Altaf Hussain to having assassinated many of its workers and opponent
Insaf Community Welfare Society partners with The Citizens Foundation to adopt this Railway school near Kalapul – work is fully underway for the initial handover to TCF in some respectable state in the coming month, but we need generous support to rebuild and rehabilitate this school to its old glory – taking it from the ~200 students enrolled to the potential of 2000 children being educated in both shifts
During the fundraiser this Sunday we raised pledges of 5 million to bring the total up to 9.5 million already pledged by the NA250 team and supporters – our aim is to achieve 25 million to revamp the school
Ironically if you watch in between the video the assembly of children when asked “Kaisa School Chahiyae” they respond “Foundation jaisa school” – right across the playground a lavish Foundation Public School stands with a manicured structure teaching “the affording elite” … while these 200 or so kids live in pre-historic times. The strike call for 12th December in Karachi was a tough & a strategic call made by Chairman Imran Khan on 30th Nov, it was a bold move to tactically increase pressure on the PML govt to rethink its negotiation strategy viz-a-viz to proceeding with an independent investigation of alleged election rigging in 2013. If peaceful protests for 120 days is not enough of a pressure tactic, it seems the govt needs to be physically shown that this is injustice in acceptable and proof of this contagious movement has taken a bigger momentum resonating all across Pakistan — Faisalabad on the 8th, Karachi on the 12th and soon Lahore on the 15th – Shutdowns are Pressure tactics to push for justice in Pakistan. What does one have to do, to get an investigation started in Pakistan? — When Push comes to shove, it seems shoving is then the order of the day.
Many supporters have a strong disagreement as to why PTI choose to adopt this strike strategy in Karachi, which to them resembles so much like the MQM-thug style politics and to make matters worse, images of burning tires were not helping as it portrayed violence, seemingly on the same track with MQM’s 30-min barrle of the gun-based shutter down calls seen too often in Karachi. Each Karachiite knows very well that the was a fundamental difference between MQM calling a strike and PTI appealing to people to join in a ShutDownToRebuild movement – Everyone knows that MQM uses militants on bikes roaming the streets and that this display interspersed with aerial firing, simply serves as the threat to establish the “voluntarily closure” along with other unfortunate tactics, they need not have to “work hard” to convince people, the guns do the convincing part quite well. PTI on the other hand DOES NOT SUBSCRIBE TO MILITANCY.
To organize the lockdown one must know the grass root dynamics of planning and ensuring a strike and I give credit to the PTI Karachi leadership to have understood the dynamics, planned well and executed to near perfection.
Before the shutdown there was a long debate on choosing to adopt the need to use tire burning strategy, but after a long discussion & a majority vote PTI teams allowed limited use of this method only for the sake of visual optics, but strictly NO threatening militant / armed strategy — only peacefully block roads, lobby aggressively, campaign and convince the public to join Imran Khan’s call to rebuild Pakistan. On the tire burning issue, I’m aware of many valid objections, I personally was a silent 50-50 spectator, personally felt we need to create the “environment” to be successful. So in part I would say I agreed, and hence I stand by the judgment call and the reason to write this blog post to explain why it was needed
A strike call in Karachi should be understood on a number of critical stages Continue Reading
Recently Alif Ailaan published a report titled 25 Million Broken Promises: The Crisis of Pakistan’s Out-of-School Children exposing the pathetic situation of education in Pakistan – but if there are millions of children out of school in Pakistan – then Im embarassed to share that the children “in-school” are equally uneducated and can be eqaully categorized as “out-of-school” – This is a video of a school in the metropolitan school based in Karachi – if such is the standard of education in an urban center – pray what might be the state of education in a rural school reportedly educating the future of our children
May Allah have mercy on our rulers, Sindh has received billions in funds for the past year but the situation in education and all other sectors are still at the mercy of corruption by the same leaders who rule over them
What must be of serious concern for Pakistan is to note that its not a general US development fund sponsoring this activity but takes place under the US Army, which is actively involved in various military activities in Pakistan to now sponsor the development of an outpost near the airport allowing it strategic positioning for possible movement of US Forces in and out of Karachi.
The US Embassy issued a press release stating “The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers only role is to oversee the award of the contract for the project to a private construction firm and supervise its implementation. No U.S. military or other USG personnel will be involved in the actual construction, operation, or staffing of this center, which will be exclusively owned and operated by the Government of Pakistan.“
Somehow turbulent & deceptive relationships with the United States of America makes Pakistanis second guess their actual intentions moving away from public deceptive posturing ranging from consistent Drone attacks, to the much controversial Raymond Davis issue and quite many other strategic invasion into the Sovereignty of Pakistan, make Pakistanis seriously doubt most of their activities. A US Army funded project, being built adjacent to a sensitive location, is a controversy that the US Govt should have done without, but it continues to do so.
Despite the apparent PR effort by the US Embassy to try and diffuse the controversy, Pakistani will continue to eye this project with serious concern, if its actually Drugs they are after, common sense would urged them to focus on the actual drug trade route that mostly originates along the 2,430 km long Pakistan-Afghanistan which by UNODC estimates accounts for 40% of drug smuggling route into Pakistan. The Karachi Airport then is the least of our concern … there is definitely a something more to what they merely dont want us to sniff into.
