Who is Zaid Zaman Hamid? Brasstacks or Yousuf Kazzab Prophecy?

In the past few weeks there has been a buzz spreading around Pakistan’s digital world talking about the recent fame surrounding the TV show personality Zaid Hamid who conducts a show on TV One called Brasstacks.  It should be mentioned that brasstacks is reportedly a paid-for show which has started airing barely a few months back and has developed a very strong following amongst the masses.  Admittedly Zaid Hamid is quite eloquent in his show and is well versed in his explaining his innumerable concepts of ranging from economic terrorism by the Zionists to other such issues which are poised at him even Islamic issues

I too have been guilty of occasionally catching a glimpse of his show and did even carry his five part series on Economic Terrorism.  All seemed well until a close associate contacted me via facebook sharing his concerns about Zaid Zaman Hamid and revealed his suspicious association with Yousuf Ali, a self proclaimed prophet from Lahore in the 1990’s.  Zaid Zaman was purportedly the right hand man of Yousuf Ali and was fondly referred to as his Hazrat Ali.  Zaid Zaman was instrumental in spreading the message of prophecy far across Pakistan, to develop a large cult like following in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad mostly due to Zaid Zaman’s excellent communication skills.

Yousuf Ali had been preaching his divine revelation to his followers for quite many years when finally a handful defected and braved to testify against him in the Lahore High Court which ultimately gave Yousuf Ali, a death sentence on charges of Blasphemy.  Yousuf Ali was then confined to Kot Lakhpath jail and in 2001 was shot dead by a fellow prisoner.  Throughout the legal proceedings one witness after another testified to the fact that Zaid Zaman was a key figure in the promotion of Yousuf Ali’s Kazzab movement.  I have been told that there even does exists an analog video of Zaid Zaman standing beside Yousuf Ali while he addressed his followers in Lahore.  Somehow the fact that Zaid Zaman was a key figure in this movement is generally a foregone conclusion, as there are one too many eye witnesses and more importantly numerous had testified the fact which may even be present in the records of Lahore High Court, including Zaid Zaman’s testimony to the honorable judge, all records are securely preserved in the archives of Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat in Karachi.

The Zaid Zaman Hamid storm actually started with the email from Naufil Shahrukh, a close friend whom I have known since 1990, the email at first in the form of a private message on Facebook but soon propagated online and published on Dictatorship Watch, verbatim

If you guys remember the Pakistan false prophet, Yousuf Ali, who was arrested and sentenced to death by the Lahore High Court and then murdered in Kot Lakhpat jail by a fellow prisoner – this guy Zaid Hamid was known as Zaid Zaman at that time and was the Khalifah of that Kazzab. Zaid is still leading that cult which belongs to the Firqah Batinyah of Sufism and they have a different aqeedah altogether which they only profess within their inner core. Many of my personal friends fell prey to his charisma in the 1990s, some of them reverted back to Hidayah and were instrumental in filing a case against Yusuf Ali which ultimately lead to his death sentence and the cult members dispersed for a few years.

The time line of events that he narrates in his letter are erringly accurate and when Naufil mentioned to me later pointing out the common friends who fell prey to this cult one does weigh in a sigh of relief to have been spared of the poison.  The most logical reason as to why our neighborhood was penetrated to such an extent can be attributed to the fact that Zaid Hamid hailed from our locality.  Off the friends who willingly embraced Yousuf Ali’s prophecy was Ryzwan Tayyab who very soon featured himself as a militant leader of the movement and after the collapse of this movement has retreated into a cocoon of severe depression irreparably damaging his family around him.  Ryzwan was also involved in actually issuing death threats to the few journalists who were critically investigating Yousuf Ali back in those days.

The resurfacing of Zaid Hamid after 15 years of hibernation is interesting, he catapults himself in 2006 as a security threat analyst frequently publishing PDF based Pakistan threat reports for a subscription fee of Rs. 25,000 but within a span of a two years mustered up enough finances to launch a self sponsored TV show which started transmission in the early months of 2008, suspiciously timed around the fall of the Pervaiz Musharraf’s regime.  The sudden shot to fame on TV is being compared to the launch of Dr. Shahid Masood’s End of Time series, which too was based on an eloquent anchor with one too many theories to present.

Off the numerous people stepping forth to expose Zaid Hamid the must read narration is of a two year email correspondence between Zaid Hamid and Abidullah Jan.  It gives an insight onto Zaid Zaman when he first started sharing his BrassTacks Security reports, slowly moving into becoming a much sought after personality.  What was interesting to read was when in the early months of 2007 Zaid Zaman approached Abidullah Jan struggling to stay afloat and requested Abid to help promote his security reports to a wider audience “I am in need of some clients to stay afloat as I am being squeezed by the government’s men for being too open and ruthless”.  Zaid Hamid a few months later, after the 3rd Nov Martial Law appeared on a couple of pro-Musharraf TV shows on PTV with Ahmed Qureshi.  Then suddenly out of the blue he is able to muster up enough finances to launch a self sponsored show on TV One.  Watching a person flutter from being financially strapped and haunted by ‘government’s men’ to appearing on a pro-Musharraf show, then having catapulting into his own show seems all too suspiciously the work of some ‘hidden hands

If coincidence was anything to go by, I also noted that around this time emerged Zaid Hamid’s articles on a very staunch pro-Musharraf proponent Ahmed Quraishi who continues to wage an online battle with the Anti-Musharraf sect.  When today I inquisitively launched a witch hunt for Zaid Hamid on the website I was surprised to see that quite a few of Zaid Hamid’s editorials were missing for example the January 29th article  which should have led to the page has been removed from the website sometime after September 5th 2008 [as indicated by the Google Cache] and this is not the only article missing of the series, I wonder why the sudden cover up after September 5th by Ahmed Quraishi.

The only acknowledgment of any link with Yousuf Ali came from an email shared with me privately where Zaid Hamid Alhamdolillah, i have nothing to do with Yousuf or his beliefs or any other people like him.

Lest I be charged of taking this message out of context I share with you the entire section of the email so people may understand his response fully

In the last 30 years of my life, In search of truth and to study this world and its ideologies, Allah took me to many places and I met many people. I have traveled with Iranian revolution, have faught in Afghan Jihad, have gone out with Tablighi Jmaat, spent time with Jamaat Islami, have met hundreds of people including Dr. Israr, Ahmad deedat, Yusuf Islam, Anne Marrie schimmel  and so on and so forth. Have also been with sufi groups in Pakistan, Turkey, Madina and Cyprus. I have also seen the western society, its civilization from a close range. Whatever I speak and do today, is the result of these experiences in life but with the mercy of Allah, He protected his humble slaves and keeps them in His infinite mercy and guidance. He showed me the world and people, but kept me away from their harm and made me benefit from any khair they had.

I also met and studied many objectionable people who were controversial but in the end Allah kept me away from them. It was all learning experiences. Alhamdolillah, i have nothing to do with Yusuf or his beliefs or any other people like him

Though he puts forth a convincing argument but it seems yet again that he refuses to acknowledge his association with Yousuf Ali to categorically say that he has “nothing to do with Yousuf or his beliefs” is this admittance of his association or denial of the fact?

Proponents of Zaid Hamid continue to plead his innocence even today as Pakistan First blog, which has been previously labeled to have a strong pro-Musharraf tilt, shared an article by Asif Shiraz who writes Zaid Hamid: As I knew him

I first met Zaid hamid at the youthful age of 17, when the emotions were high, and the search for truth pristine and innocent. A friend had told me about Zaid Hamid, and I was anxious to meet him: I was not disappointed. Our first meeting was a blast. I enjoyed Zaid sahib’s charismatic talk on many different issues, especially his passion about Islam and his knowledge on a diverse set of subjects. Although it’s been many years now, I still remember highlights of that conversation: Quotations from Iqbal, recollection of glorious events from the lives of the Sahaba, and discussion of the relevance of having truth faith “Yaqin”. Not once on that day, nor ever afterwards in these fifteen years, have I ever heard anything from Zaid Hamid which is incongruent to ideas present in mainstream religious teachings of Ahl-e-Sunnah wal-jamaat. No mention of any “cult ideology”, and no reference to anyone claiming “prophethood” whatsoever. He is a firm believer in Khatme-e-Nabuwat and the finality of Prophet Muhammad(sm). In fact, Zaid Hamid is the only person whom I have met, who lives in a rented home, but still spends a handsome chunk of his earnings every year to pay a visit to the blessed cities of Hijaz-e-Muqaddas. It is nothing other than Zaid Hamid’s love and devotion to the Prophet(sm) that he has visited Masjid-e-Nabwi more than 10 times. After the first initial meeting, I have been in touch with Zaid Hamid off and on for many years, until I moved to Chaklala Scheme III becoming his neighbor and an even closer friend.

Asif Shiraz does admit in his article that he is now a neighbor of Zaid Hamid but surprisingly fails to disclose that he is an employee of BrassTacks as proclaimed by him in this Facebook message   (Screen capture) whilst a little investigation also sheds some light that Mr. Asif Shiraz incidentally happens to be the Administrative domain contact for Zaid Hamid’s website Brasstacks.biz  (screen capture)

It is sadly Asif Shiraz’s attempt to stand up for his boss only goes to discredit Zaid Zaman. To analyze Zaid Hamid’s Brasstacks TV show one should read the two articles published in The News by Fasi Zaka September 18th The Pakistan Report and on 25th September published a follow up titled Hate Speech – II

My concern here remains is that Zaid Zaman is appearing on public TV and continues to eloquently preach his  philosophy to the public at large, had if this individual remained as private entity, then we would have had no right to question his beliefs, but once he dons the public forum, then I feel it is the right of the people to know the facts.  Generally as a free society we cannot stop him from sharing his opinion with the public at large but it is our right to question his logic and any underlying issues that may tarnish his analysis as he chooses to present to the public, and in the same pretext its important to then question his association with the self proclaimed prophet  a notion strictly prohibited in the religion of Islam.

The mystery surrounding this controversy seemingly gets worse with every passing day, could it be a mere propaganda, could it be his attempt to cover up his past, or does he simply choose ignore and hopefully forget, but more importantly does he still believe in the prophecy, so many questions, all shall remain a mystery until he alone chooses to address the propaganda and clarify his position once in for all

From what i’ve seen/ heard on 1-2 of his shows on tv one so far is that he’s been talking about the flawed internationally monetary system that has led to the current financial crisis & which threatens the world’s banking/ financial system. Most of what he has said/ and what ive heard is correct and factual/ verifiable.

It seems like ISI, wants the Islamic crowd back to support it. They failed miserably to divide the Pakistani Talibans.

Now they are simply trying to wash-away the dirt and dishonor which Mush brought to the Pak Army and ISI.

This is a very difficult subject to comment on. On one hand I know that any body as much as comes close to “certain issues” will immediately become a victim of smear campaign, on the other hand many have known to be ‘agent provocateur’ in the garb of advocating exactly the opposite. In the west many tatooed to the max racist are known to be on the ‘payroll’. I suggest put all info out there and allow all possible refutes always keeping in mind that nothing might be what they appear to be!

    Dear guYasir,

-> ‘600 Ahmedis join Israeli army’ – is the headline of the report you linked to. This implies the activity was recent, but the book it cites as proof (Israel T Naamani’s book ‘Israel: A Profile’) was published 34 years ago!!!

-> Ahmedis collected funds for India during the Kargil War, it quotes the jewish researcher as saying. Sir, how could Naamani mention the 1999 Kargil War in a book published in 1974???

-> Re: the original Article in the ‘London Post’ – Sir, why are ALL the articles in the comments section by Dr Shahid Qureshi? Is it even a newspaper or a self-promotional website in beta by this ‘award winning’ journalist?

I learned of Mr. Yusuf Ali (aka Yousuf Kazzab) from these articles about Zaid Zaman Hamid. So I have no person/ideological basis to defend him.

I think the discussions on this case assume that he claimed to be a prophet/messenger (Nauzubillah).

Here’s a defense of him from Sufis, an Islamist, and an Orientalist:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20010823225303/www.wahe.net/legal/scholars.htm

My hunch is that he was a charismatic leader of a Sufi group who uttered certain statements that are common among many Sufi leaders — uttered mainly among followers in private only — and that this was unpalatable for potential rivals and Wahhabis.

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe he did make some extremely heretical claims.

But u also have to admit that it was shady how he was shot by another prisoner. How did the prisoner get the gun? The government did not want to kill him, but did not want to not punish him so they had someone else do it.

Maybe Zaid Hamid was affiliated with the group. If he was, he is either denying it because of shame or dissimulation.

In the end, I think this was the case of an esoteric Sufi punished for his ecstatic utterances punished by controversy hungry rival mullahs.

    1. The guys is working for CIA, and was recruited by CIA duringAfghan jihad, the security company is merely a cover up, although he speaks against America, as its a favourite of public, but actually he is working on a dangerous agenda.

    2. His job is to create a cult, which is being supported by some multinationals on CIA instructions, then to work for ‘Khilaphate’, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, this is a long exposed agenda of CIA to push Pakistan in to civil war.

    3. The most dangerous thing he is doing is convincing people to ‘dump’ paper money and convert their savings in to ‘Brasstacks Gold Coins’, this will not only crash our banking system but also push our currency to be worthless. The part of plan for economic squeez for Pakistan.

Please be certain that whatever he is telling you are half-truths/twisted-facts. Yes, “most” of what he says is correct but not “all” (I am sure you will agree what most of a christian priest says is correct. It’s the bit that he is wrong about is what matters).

Don’t you find it hypocritical that a guy vilifies banking proudly displays names of bankers in his list of clients (see his Security Education Services page and scroll down to “Workship Participants’ Opinion”)? Isn’t it hypocritical that a guy who presents the corporations / oil companies as instruments of Satan proudly counts them among his clients and offers them protection (see Customer Opinion page and his home page at brasstacks.biz?

Well I am not a defender of Zaid Hamid as i dont know him, but as per point number 3. It shows you dont know about how economy works… converting the paper money into gold coins is never a threat to economic system but yes for the banking system IT REALLY IS. I think you have not read in Quran about Allah’s hatred among those who are involved in this blood sucking banking system (interest).

Pakistan has got world’s largest reserves of gold and coal.. These are the reserves which will boom your economy not the paper money, a worthless piece of paper. Why our foreign master dont want us to drill all these resources if they cannot change our fortunes?/?

    Just think.

Thanks for letting us know about these kind of people who seem to be very nice and helpful and informative but in fact they have very dangerous intentions. Mostly people like us tend to believe in what these people say becuase we don´t have a clue of the background they (Zahid Hamid) come from and because they usually tend to present what is wrong in a very skillful way so that general public can accept their views and agree with their opinions right away. Finally the bottom line is that never ever draw good or bad conclusions about somebody until and unless you have complete information about him/her in this era we live in because some times good people turn into bad people and vice versa. @ Shadab:
I think you have no understanding of how economies work & what constitutes wealth.
Just as paper money is a worthless piece of paper, Gold is a worthless piece of metal. Gold derives its value as it used to provide a means to store & transact among people & because it has a demand for use in ornaments & jewelery. Otherwise gold is a worthless piece of metal – you cannot eat it, it cannot provide you with shelter, water, anything at all – just like paper money which is not wealth itself but is a way to transact & buy & sell real assets.
So if we start transacting in gold how the hell will that make us better off?
Tell me which country is better off:
Country A that has ample agricultural production to feed its people / Has a large manufacturing base which produces everything from pins to cars & airplanes / has a well developed service industry but it deals in paper currency.

Country B that has little agriculture, needs to import food, no factories, mills etc., little service industry but has one ton of gold for each of its citizens?

By your logic & Zaid Hamid’s logic Country B is the better off one.

Secondly, someone said that Zaid Hamid is a CIA agent because he is propagating that we convert our paper money to gold & that will destroy our banking system & economy. If really it was that easy & people that stupid.

    1)Where this paper currency comes??

2)What is the standard behind this paper money?

3)Do we print whatever amount of money we want?

4)Why we are not allowed to dug our Gold reserves? If they are worth nothing?

Please follow your own advice of “Think & Answer”.

Paper currency is issued by the Govt. Money itself is worthless – It is just a medium of exchange.

The Govt. controls the amount of money that is in circulation in the economy. By controlling the money supply the Govt. tries giving direction to the economy. Increasing the money supply increases the overall demand in the economy – this can lead to demand induced growth in the economy – however, If the govt. increases the money supply uncontrollably then it will lead to inflation – as has happened in Pakistan.

Paper currency does not represent the entire amount of money in the economy. Notes & Coins in circulation constitute just a small % of the entire money supply.

Nobody can stop you from digging gold if you own the land yourself. If you find gold in your backyard, you can dig all you want. But when public land is concerned, of course the govt. has the right to restrict & control who digs for gold & that the govt. is compensated accordingly. Just like it is the case for oil, diamonds, coal or any other commodity you can think of.

And your answer of Country B just shows your understanding of what constitutes real wealth in an economy. The real wealth of an economy is not the amount of gold & silver or the amount of notes & coins in circulation. It is the productive resources within the economy – the agricultural land, the factories, roads, bridges, dams etc. etc. Notes, Coins or Gold just serve as a medium of exchange (gold also has some value due to its use in ornaments & jewelery. Otherwise it is just as worthless as paper currency if not backed by a guarantee).

By your definition the Inca’s in 15th century South America had a higher standard of living than say the Japanese have today, which is just stupid.

I personally have never agreed much with the way Zaid Hamid joins together a series of facts & sometimes fiction to create unbelievable conspiracy theories.

His analysis in his talk on Economic Terrorism for example is just stupid if someone has just a little bit of understanding of how economies operate.

However, i think that launching personal attacks is the easiest way to discredit a person without actually countering his arguments. I only heard of Zaid Hamid a month ago from a friend & then watched a few of his programs on TV One. I don’t know his background – maybe all that has been written here is true & maybe it isn’t. I also don’t know any of the people referred here who claim they knew Zaid Hamid & his background. So there is really no way a person can determine what the truth is.

However, we can very easily challenge Zaid Hamid’s theories & his version of history in which every muslim invader has been a symbol of piety & selfless devotion. Easily because most of his theories which he presents as facts in his programs are pretty stupid & do not stand to reason at all.

We do not have to wait for time – The logic is pretty straightforward for anyone who wants to understand:

The value of gold is in it being a store of value & a medium of exchange. Both of these functions are also provided by paper currency & that is what gives it value. In itself of course the currency is just a piece of paper. Guarantee of the govt. of it being legal tender is what gives it value.

If you are naive enough to believe in what you yourself are saying than please give all the paper currency you own & have kept in the bank to me. I badly need this worthless piece of paper.

There is not much difference between paper currency & gold when it comes to this purpose. You cannot eat gold, use it to build houses, cars, roads, bridges just as you cannot use paper currency to build these things. Both of them are just acting as a store of value & a medium of exchange.

You cannot increase the wealth of a society by printing new currency notes just as you cannot increase the wealth by digging for & adding more gold coins. The amount of goods & services that the economy produces is what determines the wealth & the level of well being in the society. More gold coins just like more paper currency will not mean that the country will start producing more watches, cars, airplanes, computers etc.etc.

This is all pretty elementary economics. You can find this all in economic textbooks of Matric/O-Levels.

    @Shadab,

I am a Fund Manager by profession and running a holding company.

    To kill economy of any country, you need 2 things;

    1. Shake foreign investors confidence by telling them that their investment is not safe;

    2. Make local investor put their money in to commodities like gold.

When foreign investors will pull out their investment, rupee will loose value, this is being done by terrorists by bomb blasts and by Zahid Hahimds agency to tell outside investors in his so called reports.

Second part is if you understand that its banking system (good or bad) which is backbone of economy, industry, agriculture and even small business run on loans…..if people pull out their money and convert in to gold, the banks will collapse and result in collapse of entire industry and even agriculture….if you know, each year our agriculture borrows around 150 Billion….how we are even going to grow wheat?

This is a huge concipairacy, enemies of Pakistan are carrying bomb blasts which is resulting in more and more money going out, at this point of time Zahid Hamid has started talking against banking system, the result will be a desastor….complete economic collapse.

Banking system needs to be refined and already been refined to certain extent, there are several Islamic financings being offered.

But what this Zahid Hamid is doing is to built a public opinion against banking system itself, if banking system collapses, no one on earth can save Pakistan from going bankrupt….I hope you can see the volume of conspiracy against Pakistan.

I have asked him and his followers to tell me how gold, which is most unreliable commodity in terms of price can be an alternate, but didnt got an answer as yet. The gold has lost almost 30% in recent few months, what cushions he proposes to those who buy gold. But thats another debate, same experience has failed in Malaysia.

But this is not about that, its about the timing, already we are facing financial difficulties as investor is taking money away and rupees is falling like a rock, in such time, if people start pulling money out of banks and buying ‘Brasstacks gold coins’, we would be dead economy in no time. I hope it clarifies you whats actually happening.

    ========================================================
    Rightly said.

Entire production is based on how much funds are available to production base of a country and how much money circulates in hands. More money circulates, more wealth it creats.

People put their money in banks, industry and agriculture borrows from bank and is able to produce more goods..this brings work and employments, right from workers to transporters, distributors and shopkeepers, giving people liquid funds to spend….when people buy more industry produces more…….this is an economic cycle.

To kill this economic cycle, what you need to do is tell people to put their savings in commodities,it will raise the commodity prices as more demands and kill the production.

This is exectly agenda of enemies of Pakistan.

They have realised that they can not attack Pakistan militarily, an outright war with Pakistan will mean a 3rd WW. They are pushing us to wall by economic collapse and civil war like situation. The first step is to break economic cycle.

  39. Altaf Avatar

Silence: There is one other aspect: If there is no further capacity in the economy to expand production, then increasing the money supply will only lead to inflation.

Inflation can be defined as too much money chasing after too few goods. Increasing the production capacity in an economy takes time – In the meantime if the money supply increases & people have more money to buy goods, prices will go up because production will take time to catch up to demand.

So this needs to be properly managed by the government through its fiscal & monetary policy. Unfortunately our govt. through its irresponsible fiscal policy has led to an increase in the money supply which is the cause of so much inflation.

I think our enemies don’t have to work very hard at destroying us. We are very good at doing it ourselves.

Plus i don’t think Zaid Hamid is part of some grand conspiracy to destabilize the economy. If this is a conspiracy it seems to have come straight out of an Austin Powers movie. I don’t think people are that stupid when it comes to their finances – they will espouse the most unbelievable conspiracy theories but will act practically when it comes to their own finances.

Even people here who are enthusiastically supporting Zaid Hamid’s theories without any understanding of economics will know better than to convert all of their savings into gold. I can bet that not even Zaid Hamid himself would do it.

aa. Jazak Allah for your message

Alhamdolillah, all my life has been spent keeping my self under tests and trials of fire, sword and blood for the sake of this deen and in love of Rasul Allah. My prayers, sacrifices, my life and death remains for Allah and His Prophet (saw). My izzat, life, parents, property, family and even good deeds are sacrificed on Rasul Allah. I am not mad to follow false prophets after Sayyadna Rasul Allah (saw).

Those with noor can see the rehma, baraka and khair from Allah and love of Rasul Allah in the life and mission of this humble faqeer. Hasbu nallah Naimul Wakeel, Naimul Maula wa naimun Naseer.

Curse of Allah, angels and momineen be on those liars who claim to be “prophets” after Sayyadna Khatim un Nabiyyeen Muhemmed Rasul Allah (saw). Also cursed and Rajeem are those who follow such liar “prophets” and also cursed are those who accuse innocent Muslims of following such false prophets. There will be no prophet after our beloved Sayyadna, Maulana, Muhemmed Rasul Allah, Rehmat ul lil Aalimeen (saw). May Allah keep us in His serene and blessed noor and Rehma in dunya and Akhira.

May Allah be my witness in both the worlds and forgive our errors, mistakes and sins and have mercy on Ummat e Sayyadna Rasul Allah (saw). Indeed Allah is the best of Protector and most merciful on His slaves.

They have accused me of gravest of sins, called me a Kafir and Murtid, follower of false prophets, running cults, doing khiyanat in wealth of orphans and widows, working for secret services against the State, and sponsoring my own program on News1 through secret funding of dubious agencies. Do I need to respond to these shameless slandering initiated by this site ??

There are four names we see: None of them know me despite their claims.

    * Abid Ullah Jan — He has never met me in life.
    * Tahir (reporter) He too has never met me in life.
    * N. Shahrukh, (who does not expose his name or address) whom I sure I have never met in life or at least never in last 17 years since I left Karachi.
    * Faiyyaz Alam, whom I am also sure have never met in life or at least never in the last 17 years.

How on earth can they claim to know me ????? What are their motives, intentions and backers to try to stop our mission for Pakistan’s national security ???

What evidence they have provided? What they present as evidence is only fabricated allegation of Kufr and Khiyanat not proof !!! Each and every allegation must be backed by proof. Quran, Sunnat, Sharia, law and truth demands it. They respond allegation with more allegation. Have they asked me and seeked clarification before making their Bohtan ?? Are they willing to come and confront me face to face with proof on all bohtans ???

I wanted to avoid a global e-mailing match as this is what they want to draw us into to distract us from our real mission for Pakistan and Ummah. Everyone is most welcome to visit us in our office in Pindi and seek any further clarification if required. I will not defend myself any further. Even if you clarify our position, please maintain dignity and honor at all times and don’t make a public shouting match.

We don’t need to scoop to lower levels to defend ourselves and this Deen.

We will inshallah, not be distracted and continue our mission of protecting Pakistan against all threats, internal and external.

    @Bullah Shah or …..

    I have asked a simple question, which any economist would ask from Zaid Hamid;

What will be effect of issuing ‘Brasstacks Gold Coins’ on banking system and economy?

In ordinary circumstances no body will be worried about such move, this time rupee is already falling like a rock, people are pulling out their investment from the country, rupee has almost 30% of its value and our foreign exchange reserves are unable to support next three months imports….In such state of fear, depression and out flow of cash….

If people start buying his coins, what will happen to economy and Banking system?

What will happen to gold prices if there is surge in demand?

Will gold prices will be the same as these days? Cause every investor is buying gold due to international equities depression?

What will be the hedge for gold coins against price drop in international market?

He claims to be close associate of Osama’s mentor, was OSAMA and his mentor CIA agents?

Questions about his faith, I wont ask, as long as he can explain above things.

Zaid Hamid: As I knew himPosted by Asif Shiraz on October 6th, 2008 Posted in: Article

On September 21, 2008, US helicopters violated Pakistani airspace to carry out operations on our soil, amid increasingly belligerent statements against Pakistan by both US presidential candidates. Only a day earlier, a massive suicide bomb at Marriott hotel had left the people of Pakistan in a state of total shock and despair.
In the backdrop of these distressful events, these same two days saw almost 4000 Pakistanis logged in to Zaid Hamid’s BrassTacks website, which has to date seen more than 50,000 unique visitors. Tens of thousands of people tune in to News1 “Yeh Ghazi” and “BrassTacks” TV programs every Sunday, and the videos of BrassTacks on YouTube have been viewed more than a 100,000 times as I write.
As the domestic and international circumstances of our nation have progressively been deteriorating, for the first time in a long while, have the Pakistani people and youth found a person who they can truly relate to, in terms of their aspirations and hopes, ideology and religious beliefs.
Here is a man, who hails “from us” with a middle class background, as opposed to the politicians from stratosphere of wealth. Here is a man who has proven his sincerity to Islam by six years of active participation in the Afghan jihad. Here is a man who convinced us of his intellectual prowess by the sheer depth and breadth of topics that he has discussed. And once again, it is him who has proven that he is a true red-blooded Pakistani to the core by his repeated and principled expositions of all that we stand for as a nation: Our national ideology, and our religion: Pakistan ka matlab kya, La illaha ill Allah.
And lastly, here is a man who has restored our faith in being Pakistani, and given us back a sense of pride in our roots and our history, which are inevitable in any nations march to progress.
And how are we treating him? I almost feel ashamed to say, with severe ingratitude, and injustice. Already, a number of articles aimed at his character assassination have sprung up over the internet, spreading false propaganda against him. Whether the people spreading these ideas are part of an organized foreign sponsored conspiracy, or self-deceived simpletons – one this is clear: What they are spreading against Zaid Hamid is principally flawed to the core. And who am I to say this, you will ask?
Let me introduce myself. My name is Asif Shiraz. I am a graduate of NUST, originally hail from Rawalpindi, and am currently in United States pursuing my Masters Degree, and working at a computer company. The purpose of giving you all these details is not self-propagation, but to put a face to the facts that I am going to mention below. Facts that I normally would not have disclosed, but feel it my patriotic duty to step up and let all my fellow citizens about them. I love Pakistan as dearly as all of you do, and as I see Mr. Zaid Hamid serving as a grass-roots catalyst for positive change, it hurts me to see foolish people “loose” this tremendous opportunity for our country by discrediting him on false charges. So I believe it extremely important to come out and tell everyone all the true facts that I know about him, by my association with him for over fifteen years.
I am a Muslim, and I promise all of you, in witness of Allah (sw), that each and everything that I am going to write down here, is the truth, and is my personal experience. If I lie in anything that I am going to write down here, than may it be held against me on the day of judgment. I also invite anyone disputing with what I write here, to make a similar claim if they are true, and then come forward, if what they say is true!
I always found him very passionate about Pakistan, and the Muslim Ummah. His participation in the Afghan Jihad many times brought him close to death. Once he related such an incident that while laying mines in a field, the Soviet Army suddenly invaded and to save themselves, they drove their jeeps at full speed past through the same mines they had been laying.
One of the hallmarks of a true Muslim, is a constant inward struggle to strengthen ones relationship with God, and traverse the path of upward spiritual growth to attain the status of “ehsaan”. One can only expect Zaid Hamid, who was himself at the prime of his youth at the time, to be an ardent student of Islamic teachings, and always trying to grow his own knowledge and understanding of the deen. This pursuit took him along many paths, exploring many different ideas and crossing the paths of many scholars and thinkers. This is nothing but commendable. Zaid sahib has met many eminent people in his life, so much so that the famous German scholar on Allama Iqbal, Dr. Annemarie Schimmel also knew Zaid sahib. It is possible that at some point in his University Zaid sahib may have interacted with people from the Jamaat-e-Islami also. He has also comprehensively studied the Iranian Revolution as well and had his stints with the Tableeghi-Jamaat. He has travelled to Hijaz, Turkey and Cyprus in search of knowledge, scholars and learned men.
Zaid Hamid is one of the best things that has happened to this nation in a long time, and we must not loose this gem of a person. This is my sincere advise to all those who love the Muslim Ummah, and its strongest Bastion, Pakistan. As for those who are still in doubt, let us make it very clear: Our mission to serve Pakistan will always continue with or with you, and we will insha Allah be successful.
