In the past few weeks there has been a buzz spreading around Pakistan’s digital world talking about the recent fame surrounding the TV show personality Zaid Hamid who conducts a show on TV One called Brasstacks. It should be mentioned that brasstacks is reportedly a paid-for show which has started airing barely a few months back and has developed a very strong following amongst the masses. Admittedly Zaid Hamid is quite eloquent in his show and is well versed in his explaining his innumerable concepts of ranging from economic terrorism by the Zionists to other such issues which are poised at him even Islamic issues
I too have been guilty of occasionally catching a glimpse of his show and did even carry his five part series on Economic Terrorism. All seemed well until a close associate contacted me via facebook sharing his concerns about Zaid Zaman Hamid and revealed his suspicious association with Yousuf Ali, a self proclaimed prophet from Lahore in the 1990’s. Zaid Zaman was purportedly the right hand man of Yousuf Ali and was fondly referred to as his Hazrat Ali. Zaid Zaman was instrumental in spreading the message of prophecy far across Pakistan, to develop a large cult like following in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad mostly due to Zaid Zaman’s excellent communication skills.
Yousuf Ali had been preaching his divine revelation to his followers for quite many years when finally a handful defected and braved to testify against him in the Lahore High Court which ultimately gave Yousuf Ali, a death sentence on charges of Blasphemy. Yousuf Ali was then confined to Kot Lakhpath jail and in 2001 was shot dead by a fellow prisoner. Throughout the legal proceedings one witness after another testified to the fact that Zaid Zaman was a key figure in the promotion of Yousuf Ali’s Kazzab movement. I have been told that there even does exists an analog video of Zaid Zaman standing beside Yousuf Ali while he addressed his followers in Lahore. Somehow the fact that Zaid Zaman was a key figure in this movement is generally a foregone conclusion, as there are one too many eye witnesses and more importantly numerous had testified the fact which may even be present in the records of Lahore High Court, including Zaid Zaman’s testimony to the honorable judge, all records are securely preserved in the archives of Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat in Karachi.
The Zaid Zaman Hamid storm actually started with the email from Naufil Shahrukh, a close friend whom I have known since 1990, the email at first in the form of a private message on Facebook but soon propagated online and published on Dictatorship Watch, verbatim
If you guys remember the Pakistan false prophet, Yousuf Ali, who was arrested and sentenced to death by the Lahore High Court and then murdered in Kot Lakhpat jail by a fellow prisoner – this guy Zaid Hamid was known as Zaid Zaman at that time and was the Khalifah of that Kazzab. Zaid is still leading that cult which belongs to the Firqah Batinyah of Sufism and they have a different aqeedah altogether which they only profess within their inner core. Many of my personal friends fell prey to his charisma in the 1990s, some of them reverted back to Hidayah and were instrumental in filing a case against Yusuf Ali which ultimately lead to his death sentence and the cult members dispersed for a few years.
The time line of events that he narrates in his letter are erringly accurate and when Naufil mentioned to me later pointing out the common friends who fell prey to this cult one does weigh in a sigh of relief to have been spared of the poison. The most logical reason as to why our neighborhood was penetrated to such an extent can be attributed to the fact that Zaid Hamid hailed from our locality. Off the friends who willingly embraced Yousuf Ali’s prophecy was Ryzwan Tayyab who very soon featured himself as a militant leader of the movement and after the collapse of this movement has retreated into a cocoon of severe depression irreparably damaging his family around him. Ryzwan was also involved in actually issuing death threats to the few journalists who were critically investigating Yousuf Ali back in those days.
The resurfacing of Zaid Hamid after 15 years of hibernation is interesting, he catapults himself in 2006 as a security threat analyst frequently publishing PDF based Pakistan threat reports for a subscription fee of Rs. 25,000 but within a span of a two years mustered up enough finances to launch a self sponsored TV show which started transmission in the early months of 2008, suspiciously timed around the fall of the Pervaiz Musharraf’s regime. The sudden shot to fame on TV is being compared to the launch of Dr. Shahid Masood’s End of Time series, which too was based on an eloquent anchor with one too many theories to present.
Off the numerous people stepping forth to expose Zaid Hamid the must read narration is of a two year email correspondence between Zaid Hamid and Abidullah Jan. It gives an insight onto Zaid Zaman when he first started sharing his BrassTacks Security reports, slowly moving into becoming a much sought after personality. What was interesting to read was when in the early months of 2007 Zaid Zaman approached Abidullah Jan struggling to stay afloat and requested Abid to help promote his security reports to a wider audience “I am in need of some clients to stay afloat as I am being squeezed by the government’s men for being too open and ruthless”. Zaid Hamid a few months later, after the 3rd Nov Martial Law appeared on a couple of pro-Musharraf TV shows on PTV with Ahmed Qureshi. Then suddenly out of the blue he is able to muster up enough finances to launch a self sponsored show on TV One. Watching a person flutter from being financially strapped and haunted by ‘government’s men’ to appearing on a pro-Musharraf show, then having catapulting into his own show seems all too suspiciously the work of some ‘hidden hands‘
If coincidence was anything to go by, I also noted that around this time emerged Zaid Hamid’s articles on a very staunch pro-Musharraf proponent Ahmed Quraishi who continues to wage an online battle with the Anti-Musharraf sect. When today I inquisitively launched a witch hunt for Zaid Hamid on the website I was surprised to see that quite a few of Zaid Hamid’s editorials were missing for example the January 29th article which should have led to the page has been removed from the website sometime after September 5th 2008 [as indicated by the Google Cache] and this is not the only article missing of the series, I wonder why the sudden cover up after September 5th by Ahmed Quraishi.
The only acknowledgment of any link with Yousuf Ali came from an email shared with me privately where Zaid Hamid Alhamdolillah, i have nothing to do with Yousuf or his beliefs or any other people like him.
Lest I be charged of taking this message out of context I share with you the entire section of the email so people may understand his response fully
In the last 30 years of my life, In search of truth and to study this world and its ideologies, Allah took me to many places and I met many people. I have traveled with Iranian revolution, have faught in Afghan Jihad, have gone out with Tablighi Jmaat, spent time with Jamaat Islami, have met hundreds of people including Dr. Israr, Ahmad deedat, Yusuf Islam, Anne Marrie schimmel and so on and so forth. Have also been with sufi groups in Pakistan, Turkey, Madina and Cyprus. I have also seen the western society, its civilization from a close range. Whatever I speak and do today, is the result of these experiences in life but with the mercy of Allah, He protected his humble slaves and keeps them in His infinite mercy and guidance. He showed me the world and people, but kept me away from their harm and made me benefit from any khair they had.
I also met and studied many objectionable people who were controversial but in the end Allah kept me away from them. It was all learning experiences. Alhamdolillah, i have nothing to do with Yusuf or his beliefs or any other people like him
Though he puts forth a convincing argument but it seems yet again that he refuses to acknowledge his association with Yousuf Ali to categorically say that he has “nothing to do with Yousuf or his beliefs” is this admittance of his association or denial of the fact?
Proponents of Zaid Hamid continue to plead his innocence even today as Pakistan First blog, which has been previously labeled to have a strong pro-Musharraf tilt, shared an article by Asif Shiraz who writes Zaid Hamid: As I knew him
I first met Zaid hamid at the youthful age of 17, when the emotions were high, and the search for truth pristine and innocent. A friend had told me about Zaid Hamid, and I was anxious to meet him: I was not disappointed. Our first meeting was a blast. I enjoyed Zaid sahib’s charismatic talk on many different issues, especially his passion about Islam and his knowledge on a diverse set of subjects. Although it’s been many years now, I still remember highlights of that conversation: Quotations from Iqbal, recollection of glorious events from the lives of the Sahaba, and discussion of the relevance of having truth faith “Yaqin”. Not once on that day, nor ever afterwards in these fifteen years, have I ever heard anything from Zaid Hamid which is incongruent to ideas present in mainstream religious teachings of Ahl-e-Sunnah wal-jamaat. No mention of any “cult ideology”, and no reference to anyone claiming “prophethood” whatsoever. He is a firm believer in Khatme-e-Nabuwat and the finality of Prophet Muhammad(sm). In fact, Zaid Hamid is the only person whom I have met, who lives in a rented home, but still spends a handsome chunk of his earnings every year to pay a visit to the blessed cities of Hijaz-e-Muqaddas. It is nothing other than Zaid Hamid’s love and devotion to the Prophet(sm) that he has visited Masjid-e-Nabwi more than 10 times. After the first initial meeting, I have been in touch with Zaid Hamid off and on for many years, until I moved to Chaklala Scheme III becoming his neighbor and an even closer friend.
Asif Shiraz does admit in his article that he is now a neighbor of Zaid Hamid but surprisingly fails to disclose that he is an employee of BrassTacks as proclaimed by him in this Facebook message (Screen capture) whilst a little investigation also sheds some light that Mr. Asif Shiraz incidentally happens to be the Administrative domain contact for Zaid Hamid’s website Brasstacks.biz (screen capture)
It is sadly Asif Shiraz’s attempt to stand up for his boss only goes to discredit Zaid Zaman. To analyze Zaid Hamid’s Brasstacks TV show one should read the two articles published in The News by Fasi Zaka September 18th The Pakistan Report and on 25th September published a follow up titled Hate Speech – II
My concern here remains is that Zaid Zaman is appearing on public TV and continues to eloquently preach his philosophy to the public at large, had if this individual remained as private entity, then we would have had no right to question his beliefs, but once he dons the public forum, then I feel it is the right of the people to know the facts. Generally as a free society we cannot stop him from sharing his opinion with the public at large but it is our right to question his logic and any underlying issues that may tarnish his analysis as he chooses to present to the public, and in the same pretext its important to then question his association with the self proclaimed prophet a notion strictly prohibited in the religion of Islam.
The mystery surrounding this controversy seemingly gets worse with every passing day, could it be a mere propaganda, could it be his attempt to cover up his past, or does he simply choose ignore and hopefully forget, but more importantly does he still believe in the prophecy, so many questions, all shall remain a mystery until he alone chooses to address the propaganda and clarify his position once in for all

i really appericiate your efforts to touch that sensitive issues but don’t you think with out concrete evidence these issues may led towards unnecessary bitterness.
so far i couldn,t able to see the evidence that mr zaid hamid was a deputy of yousuf kazzab.any photograph, any thing wirtten by zzh, any speech, audio or video?

Very well said. I think this topic should be closed for comments now as this is leading no where and we brothers are fighting which each other on unnecessary speculations. Hope theeth mastro will take some positive action soon.
I can not agree less with you Jawwad Khan and Khawar Jawad. This, blog should end this discussion and bring in some new topic which offers positive, corrective and fruitful discussion. May Allah teach us to be more enlightened and become a Muslim with good deeds. Ameen.

yes you can have speach from court record.zaid’s name was mentioned in the witnesses and even in the foreword by ismail quraishi advocate.the speach at bait e raza in which zaid zaman hamid was announced “sahabi’ of yousuf ali in 1997 has been listend in court and was testified..see the court order of 5th aug 2000.

گزشتہ دنوں ایک شخص زید حامد کے بارے میں جسارت میں مضامین شائع ہوئے‘ جن پر ہمارے کچھ قارئین بالخصوص خواتین کے طبقے نے اعتراضات کیے۔ اعتراضات کرنے والوں میں ایسے بھی تھے جن کی دینی فہم اور اسلام سے محبت مستحکم ہے، لیکن لاعلمی کی بنیاد پر اعتراضات وارد کیے گئے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ زید حامد کا سحر سر چڑھ کر بول رہا ہے۔ ٹی وی چینلز پر بہت اچھی گفتگو کرتے ہیں‘ ایسی گفتگو کہ دین دار طبقہ کہہ اٹھے کہ یہ تو اس کے دل کی آواز ہے۔ زبان کا ایسا ہی کمال ”جاہل آن لائن“ میں بھی نظر آتا ہے۔ خطابت کے زور پر ذہنوں کو مسحور کرنا کوئی نئی بات نہیں۔ بھلا ہو ڈاکٹر فیاض عالم کا‘ جنہوں نے انکشاف کیا کہ زید حامد جھوٹے نبی یوسف کذاب کے خلیفہ تھے۔ لیکن شاید جسارت کے کئی قارئین نے اس پر توجہ نہیں دی۔ یوسف کذاب کا دعویٰ ¿ نبوت اور اس کا انجام زیادہ پرانی بات نہیں۔ اسے لاہور کی عدالت نے سزائے موت دی تھی اور زید حامد نے نہ صرف فیصلے کی مخالفت کی بلکہ اس کی ضمانت کی کوشش بھی کرتے رہے‘ مگر اسے کسی غیرت مند نے جیل میں ہی موت کے گھاٹ اتار دیا۔ زید حامد نے جھوٹے نبی کی اطاعت سے توبہ کا اعلان نہیں کیا۔ وہ توبہ کرلیں تو ہمارے سر آنکھوں پر، لیکن تب تک اُن سے متاثر ہونے والے ان کا پس منظر اپنے ذہن میں رکھیں۔ یوسف کذاب کون تھا، یادداشت تازہ کرنے کے لیے اس پر چلنے والے مقدمے کی تھوڑی سی روداد بیان کرنا مناسب ہوگا تاکہ زید حامد کا پس منظر بھی تھوڑا سا سامنے آجائے۔ سیشن جج لاہور کی عدالت میں چلنے والے اس اہم مقدمے کی پوری تفصیل ایک کتابی شکل میں شائع ہوچکی ہے جس کا عنوان ہے:”Judgment of yousuf kazzab blasphemy case” اسے جناب ارشد قریشی نے مرتب کیا ہے اور اس کاپیش لفظ سپریم کورٹ کے سینئر ایڈووکیٹ محمد اسماعیل قریشی نے لکھا ہے۔ قریشی صاحب ہی نے یوسف کذاب کے خلاف مقدمہ کی پیروی کی تھی جس کے نتیجے میں 5 اگست 2000ءکو جج میاں محمد جہانگیر نے مجرم کذاب کو موت کی سزا سنائی۔ اس فیصلے کو انہی زید حامد نے انصاف کا قتل قرار دیا۔ ان کے خیال میں توہینِ رسالت کا مرتکب اور خود نبوت کا دعویدار، اپنے دور کا کذاب ِعظیم ایک معزز صوفی اسکالر تھا۔ اب بھی وقت ہے کہ زید حامد یوسف کذاب سے برا¿ت کا اعلان کریں، جس نے بے شمار لوگوں کو اپنی خطابت کے سحر سے گمراہ کیا۔ اب آپ محمد اسماعیل قریشی کے قلم سے مقدمہ کی مختصر سی روداد اور تبصرہ ملاحظہ کریں۔ اللہ ہم سب کو دجالوں اور ابو جہل کے پیروکاروں سے محفوظ رکھے: …………٭٭………… میں فاضل سیشن جج لاہور میاں محمد جہانگیر کے تفصیلی فیصلے مجریہ 5 اگست 2000ءپر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے جھجک رہا تھا جس میں فاضل جج نے یوسف علی کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی توہین کے جرم میں موت کی سزا دی ہے جب اس نے مدینہ منورہ سے اپنی واپسی پر نبوت کی آخری اور حتمی منزل طے کرلینے کا دعویٰ کیا تھا۔ مجرم کو سزائے موت کے ساتھ ساتھ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے نام پر دھوکا اور جعلسازی کے گھناﺅنے جرم کے ارتکاب کی سزا بھی دی گئی ہے۔ اس کو بلند مرتبت اہلِ بیت (علیہ السلام) اور صحابہ کرامؓ کا تقدس مجروح کرنے کی سزا بھی دی گئی۔ دوسرے یہ کہ میں نے اس پر کوئی تبصرہ کرنے سے اس لیے بھی گریز کیا کہ میں اس فیصلے کا حصہ ہوں اور میری کتاب ”ناموسِ رسالت اور قانون توہین ِ رسالت“ کا حوالہ مجرم نے مقدمے کی سماعت کرنے والی عدالت کے سامنے بار بار دیا۔ دریں اثناءمجرم کے ایک نام نہاد صحابی زید حامد نے ڈان شمارہ 13 اگست 2000ءمیں فیصلے کے بارے میں اپنی رائے کا اظہار کیا اور شر انگیزی کی اس پست ترین سطح تک گرگئے کہ اس فیصلے کو انصاف کا قتل قرار دے دیا اور مجرم کو ایک مہربان اور اسلام کے معزز صوفی اسکالر کے طور پر پیش کیا ہے۔ فیصلے کے بارے میں تبصرے سے ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ قانون کے بارے میں تبصرہ نگار کا علم کس قدر سطحی ہے۔ ان کے بیان کردہ حقائق سچائی کا مذاق اڑانے کے مترادف ہیں۔ اسی طرح ڈیلی نیوز لاہور میں اسی دن شائع ہونے والے مجرم کے بیان میں بھی مقدمے کے اصل متن کو مسخ کیا گیا ہے۔ اس گمراہ کن مہم نے مجرم کے ایک سابق قریبی ساتھی اور اسکالر جناب ارشد قریشی کو جو قادریہ صوفی سلسلے سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں‘ فاضل سیشن جج کا مقدمہ کتابی شکل میں شائع کرنے پر مجبور کردیا تاکہ عوام مجرم کا اصلی روپ اس تاریخی مقدمے کی روشنی میں دیکھ سکیں۔ انہوں نے مجھ سے اپنی اس زیرِ طبع کتاب کے لیے پیش لفظ لکھنے کی درخواست کی۔ اس کتاب کے مو¿لف ایک اور کتاب ”فتنہ یوسف کذاب“ کے مصنف بھی ہیں جو تین جلدوں میں ہے۔ نہ صرف مقدمے کی سماعت کرنے والے فاضل جج بلکہ خود میرے اور ممتاز وکلا سردار احمد خان، ایم اقبال چیمہ، غلام مصطفی چوہدری، یعقوب علی قریشی اور میاںصابر نشتر ایڈووکیٹ پر مشتمل میرے پینل کے خلاف مجرم کی مسلسل ناجائز مہم جوئی کے پیش نظر میں نے یہ پیش لفظ لکھ کر عوام پر یہ بات واضح کرنا ضروری سمجھا کہ آدھا سچ صریح جھوٹ سے بھی زیادہ خطرناک ہے۔ جج صاحبان خود اپنے فیصلوں کا دفاع نہیںکرسکتے بلکہ وہ اپنے فیصلوں کے ذریعے کلام کرسکتے ہیں۔ اس لیے جو معاملہ عدالت سے تعلق رکھتا ہے تو عدالت خود ہی اس توہین آمیز مواد پر گرفت کرے گی لیکن میں صرف مدعی کے وکلا کی اس کردارکشی کو زیربحث لاﺅں گا جو بعض اخبارات کے ذریعے کی گئی ہے۔ جہاں تک مجرم کے طرزعمل اور کردار کا تعلق ہے تو اس نے عدالت میں پیش کردہ خود اپنی دستاویزات کے ذریعے ہی اپنی اصلیت ثابت کردی ہے کہ جدید مشینی طریقوں کے ذریعے انسانی ذہن اتنے بڑے فراڈ کو شاید ہی کبھی احاطہ¿ خیال میں لاسکا ہو۔ اس نے ایک دستاویز پیش کی جسے مقدمے کی سماعت کرنے والی عدالت نے سند ڈی 1 کے طور پر پیش کیا ہے اور جو اس کتاب کے شیڈول Iکا حصہ بھی ہے۔ اس دستاویز کے بارے میں اس لیے یہ دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ یہ وہ سرٹیفکیٹ ہے جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کو براہِ راست بھیجا ہے جس کی رو سے اس کو خلیفہ اعظم قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ میری جرح پر اس کے اعتراف کے مطابق تمام انبیاءکرام کو خلفائ‘ زمین پر اللہ کے نائب مقرر کیا گیا تھا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خلیفہ اعظم، نائبین کے سربراہ اعلیٰ ہیں‘ لہٰذا اس سرٹیفکیٹ کی رو سے اب وہ زمین پر خلیفہ اعظم ہے۔ جرح میں اس نے یہ بات بھی تسلیم کی کہ چاروں خلفاءمیں سے کوئی بھی خلیفہ اعظم کے مرتبے پر فائز نہیں تھا۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں اس نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرف سے خلیفہ اعظم کا یہ سرٹیفکیٹ اس کو کراچی کے ایک بزرگ عبداللہ شاہ غازی کی وساطت سے ان کے لیٹر پیڈ پر کمپیوٹر کے ذریعے بھیجا گیا تھا۔ دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ کراچی کے مذکورہ بزرگ 300 سال قبل وفات پاچکے ہیں۔ نبی کریم کی جانب سے انگریزی زبان میں مذکورہ سرٹیفکیٹ میں مجرم کو خلیفہ اعظم حضرت امام الشیخ ابو محمد یوسف کے طور پر مخاطب کیا گیا ہے۔ مذکورہ سرٹیفکیٹ میں مجرم کو علم کا محور اور عقل و دانش میں حرف ِآخر قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اس اعلان کی وضاحت کرتے ہوئے مجرم نے کہا کہ وہ قرآن پاک کا مفسر ہے۔ وہ حدیث اور فقہ کے بارے میں سب کچھ جانتا ہے۔ وہ تصوف کا ماہر ہے اور دنیاوی سائنسی علوم سے بھی واقف ہے۔ اس کے ہمہ جہت علم و دانش کا اندازہ لگانے کی غرض سے میں نے اس سے دینی علم کے بارے میں جرح کی اور جدید سائنسی تحقیق کے بارے میں بھی سوالات پوچھے۔ میں یہاں بتانا چاہوں گا کہ مجرم نے عدالت میں یہ بیان دیا تھا کہ اس کو تمام پیغامات براہِ راست رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عربی یا انگریزی میں موصول ہوتے ہیں۔ میں نے اس سے قرآنی لفظ ”تقویٰ“ کی دلیل کے بارے میں سوال کیا لیکن وہ اس کا جواب نہیں دے سکا۔ میں نے اس سے خلیفہ اعظم سرٹیفکیٹ کی پیشانی پر تحریر الفاظ ”وسعت“ اور ”حشر“ کے معنی پوچھے مگر وہ ان الفاظ کے آسان معنی بتانے میں بری طرح ناکام رہا۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ صحاح ستہ کے نام سے مشہور اور قرآن کے بعد پوری دنیا کے لیے انتہائی محترم حدیث کی چھ کتابوں کے نام بتانے سے بھی قاصر رہا۔ آل رسول کا دعویدار ہونے کے باوجود اس کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور حضرت علی ؓ کے بارے میں مدینتہ العلم کی انتہائی مشہور حدیث کا بھی کوئی علم نہیں۔ اسکول سرٹیفکیٹ اور اس کے سروس ریکارڈ کے مطابق اس کا نام یوسف علی ہے۔ (شیڈول II) ریٹائرمنٹ کے بعد اس نے لوگوں کو دھوکا دینے اور نبی کریم کے نام پر جعلسازی کے ذریعے بے تحاشہ پیسہ حاصل کرنے اور لاکھوں روپے مالیت کی جائداد بنانے کے مذموم مقاصد کے پیش نظر اپنے نام میں ”محمد“ کا اضافہ کرلیا۔ یہ حقائق اس کے اپنے اعترافات اور پیش کردہ دستاویزات سے ثابت ہیں ۔ اس کا دعویٰ ہے کہ اس نے اقبال کا گہرا مطالعہ کیا ہے‘ لیکن وہ ان کے 6 خطبات سے نابلد ہے اور ان کی شاعری میں استعمال ہونے والی اصطلاحات کا مطلب جانتا ہے نہ ہی وہ اقبال کے فلسفہ¿ خودی کی وضاحت کرسکا۔ اس کا مولانا مودودی کے ساتھ منسلک رہنے کا دعویٰ بھی صریح غلط بیانی پر مبنی ہے اور جماعت اسلامی کی طرف سے اس کی تردید کی جاچکی ہے۔ اسی طرح وہ جدید سائنس کی الف، ب بھی نہیں جانتا اور ڈی این اے کا مطلب نہیں بتا پایا۔ اس نے یہ لفظ عدالت کے سامنے خود اپنے بیان میں استعمال کیا تھا۔ اپنے اس مذموم منصوبے کو تقویت بخشنے کی غرض سے اس نے نوجوانوں کی عالمی تنظیم ورلڈ اسمبلی آف مسلم یوتھ (WAMY) کا ڈائریکٹر جنرل ہونے کا دعویٰ کیا تھا جس کا صدر دفتر جدہ میں ہے اور جس کے دفاتر پوری دنیا میں پھیلے ہوئے ہیں۔ میں اس تنظیم کا ایسوسی ایٹ ممبر رہا ہوں لہٰذا میں نے فوری طور پر سیکریٹری جنرل ڈاکٹر مانج الجہنی سے رابطہ قائم کیا تو انہوں نے فوراً ہی فیکس کے ذریعے مجھے آگاہ کیا کہ ”وامی“ یوسف علی نام کے کسی شخص سے واقف نہیں ہے اور نہ ہی اس نام کے کسی شخص کو کبھی ڈائریکٹر جنرل مقرر کیا گےا تھا۔ مذکورہ خط میں واضح طور پر کہا گیا کہ اگر مذکورہ یوسف علی نے اپنا دعویٰ ثابت کرنے کے لیے کوئی دستاویز یا کوئی دوسرا مواد پیش کیا ہو تو اسے غلط اور جھوٹ تصور کیا جائے۔ سیکریٹری جنرل وامی نے اس کے خلاف قانونی کارروائی کرنے اور سزا دلانے کا اختیار بھی دیا۔ مذکورہ خط عدالت میں پیش کیا گیا اور یہ بھی شیڈول III کے طور پر منسلک ہے۔ مجرم نے اس جعلسازی پر ہی اکتفا نہیں کیا بلکہ اس نے خود کو سعودی عرب سے قبرص کے سفیر کے مرتبے پر بھی فائز کردیا اور ہزایکسیلنسی بن کر سابق چیف جسٹس حمودالرحمن اور جسٹس (ر) محمد افضل چیمہ کے ساتھ اپنی تصویر بھی کھنچوائی۔ (شیڈول IV)۔ تاہم جسٹس چیمہ نے اسلام آباد سے ٹیلی فون پر میرے استفسار پر ایسے کسی ہز ایکسیلنسی سے واقفیت کی تردید کی۔ مجرم نے اپنے بیان میں اس بات سے انکار کیا کہ وہ مرزا غلام احمد قادیانی کو جانتا ہے۔ مگر حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اس نے بھی وہی طریقہ کار اختیار کیا جو قادیان کے اس مرزا نے اختیار کیا تھا۔ یہاں یہ بتانا ضروری ہے کہ برطانوی حکومت نے بھارت کے مسلم حکمرانوں سے اقتدار غصب کرنے کے بعد انیسویں صدی میں توہینِ رسالت کا قانون منسوخ کردیا‘ جبکہ انگلینڈ میں اُس وقت بھی یہ قانون آئین کا حصہ تھا۔ مرزا غلام احمد کو برطانوی حکومت کی طرف سے اسلام کے لبادے میں اپنے نئے مذہب کی مکمل حمایت حاصل تھی۔ لیکن اپنے آقاﺅں کی اس یقین دہانی کے بعد کہ برطانوی حکومت اس کے خلاف کسی بھی مذہبی تحریک کو پوری سختی سے کچل دے گی اس نے یہ اعلان کردیا کہ جو کوئی بھی اس پر ایمان نہیں لائے گا وہ دائرہ¿ اسلام سے خارج ہوجائے گا۔ اس کا یہ اعلان مکتوبات مطبوعہ مارچ 1906ء(شیڈولVI) میں موجود ہے۔ اس پس منظر کے ساتھ مجرم یوسف علی بھی مرزا غلام احمد کے نقش قدم پر چلا اور اس نے زبانی اور دستاویزی شہادت کے ذریعے یہ ثابت کردیا کہ وہ بھی اپنے مشن اور نبوت کے جھوٹے دعویدار کا حقیقی جانشین ہے۔ پہلے اس نے مذہبی حلقوں میں اسلام کے مبلغ کی حیثیت سے رسائی حاصل کی، پھر مرد ِ کامل، اس کے بعد امام الوقت یعنی مہدی ہونے کا دعویٰ کیا اور پھر خود کو خلیفہ اعظم قرار دے دیا۔ پھر اس نے ”غار حرا“ سے موسوم اپنے بیسمنٹ میں اپنے پیروکاروں کے سامنے اپنے نبی ہونے کا اعلان کردیا۔ وہ مرزا غلام احمد کی طرح اپنے اس جھوٹے دعوے پر بھی مطمئن نہیں ہوا اور اس نے خود کو نبی آخرالزماں سے (نعوذ باللہ) برتر ہستی ظاہر کرنے کے لیے یہ اعلان کردیا کہ 1400 سال قبل رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلمایک فریضہ سرانجام دے رہے تھے مگر دور حاضر میں اس نے نبوت اور اس کے حسن کو عروج کمال پر پہنچا دیا ہے۔ مجرم کے اس شرانگیز اور اشتعال انگیز دعوے کے ثبوت میں استغاثہ نے 14 گواہ پیش کیے جن میں کراچی سے بریگیڈیئر (ر) ڈاکٹر محمد اسلم (گواہ استغاثہ1)، محمد اکرم رانا (گواہ استغاثہ2 )‘ محمد علی ابوبکر (گواہ استغاثہ7) اور لاہور سے حافظ محمد ممتاز عدانی، (گواہ استغاثہ نمبر4)‘ میاں محمد اویس (گواہ استغاثہ5) شامل تھے جنہوں نے مجرم کی جانب سے نبوت اورختمی فضیلت کے جھوٹے دعوے کی براہِ راست عینی شہادتوں پر مبنی واقعات بیان کیے۔ سماجی اور مذہبی مرتبے کے حامل ان گواہوں کے ساتھ مجرم کی کوئی عداوت نہیں ہے۔ اس کے برعکس یہ لوگ اس کے اندھے عقیدت مند اور پیروکار تھے‘ بالخصوص محمد علی ابوبکر تو اس سے اتنا قریب تھا کہ اسے مجرم آقا سے مکمل وفاداری اور اس کے احکام کی تعمیل اور بھرپور اطاعت کی بناءپر ابوبکر صدیق کا خطاب دیا گیا تھا۔ کراچی کے اس مرید نے اس کو لاکھوں روپے مالیت کے چیک اور ڈرافٹ دیئے اور اس کے لیے آراستہ و پیراستہ محل تعمیر کیا جس میں غار حرا بھی بنایا گیا تھا۔ مجرم نے نقد یا چیک اور ڈرافٹ کی شکل میں رقم وصول کرنے کی حقیقت سے انکار نہیں کیا۔ اپنے اس نام نہاد نبی کے حق میں اپنی تمام جائداد سے دستبردار ہونے پر اس کے صحابی کو صدیق کا خطاب عطاکیاگیا تھا۔ اس طرح مجرم نے رسول پاک کے نام پر معصوم لوگوں کو اپنے جال میں پھنسایا اور انہیں مفلسی اور محتاجی سے دوچار کردیا۔ جب اس نے اپنے خلاف مسلمانوں کے غیظ وغضب اور شدید اشتعال کی کیفیت دیکھی تو اپنی گردن بچانے کے لئے مرزا غلام احمد قادیانی کی طرح وہ بھی اپنے دعوے سے مکر گیا۔ اس کی تردید صریح دجل وفریب اور ”محمد“ ”آل رسول“ اور ”صحابہ“ کے مقدس الفاظ کی غلط ترجمانی کی عکاس تھی جیسا کہ ریکارڈ سے ظاہر ہے۔ یوسف علی نے مسلمان ہوکر بھی اپنے مذموم مقاصد کے لئے لوگوں کو دھوکا دینے اور مال ودولت اور جائداد کی خاطر رسول پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے نام پر معصوم لوگوں کو اپنے جال میں پھنسانے کے لےے توہین رسالت کے سنگین جرم کا ارتکاب کیا۔

I really think that yousuf and zaid both could be saved in that way. It is the role of community to think over these issues in human ways, instead of dividing themselves on such things. as a dead nation we don’t have institutions. Many of those who claimed to be mahdi,Christ, kings and (i met a psychiatric patient who used to say that he has the right to sit on the seat of Aga khan)were actually needy of the sympathy in a sense and treatment. Their intelligence is not disturbed, their sexual phenomenon and needs are fine, and their all materialistic urges are working. The train of thoughts and twists are head swirling.
This is another aspect which I have been discussing with friends.

Do we have to reply to allegations from dubious sources, from unknown non-existent characters, with blasphemous slandering and accusations ? What is the credibility of that site and who is their patron? do you know their intention and backers? The website you mention works on the same lines as Indians and CIA to attack and destroy Pakistan army and ISI. Cant you see what is its game and whose interests this so called Abid ullah jan is serving. ? Where is he based, who is he, who is funding him to follow India and CIA line against ISI and army ? Here’s a comment I posted on another blog (Islamabad Observer) after meeting Zaid Hamid. Some of the things might seem out of context as they pertain to the discussion on the aforementioned blog.

I asked people to visit Zaid Hamid because it is the duty of a responsible Muslim to himself verify the allegations he is levelling against a person and not make up an opinion on hearsay. This is precisely why Zaid Hamid has not responded to these claims as he knows that this would lead to an idefinite i-war and would only serve to distract him from his more important duties.
Further by visiting Zaid Hamid personally, one can see the proof he has first hand. Everything he told me, he backed it up with solid evidence. And remember 165 million people don’t need proof, only the one’s who are propagating this non-sense after basing their arguments on hearsay and partial evidence without even asking for Zaid Hamid’s point of view need it. This is exactly why I mentioned IO as his blog has 4 articles on the issue and he himself has never met Zaid Hamid.
However, on popular demand, I will summarize my discussion with Zaid Hamid for you by answering the questions in my previous post. The following is the list of material that Zaid had with him to support his arguments:
1. The complete court judgement
2. The transcripts of court witnesses including the plaintiff’s
3. Letters from the notable scholars and schools including Maulana Abdul Sattar Niazi to the court in favour of Yousaf Ali.
4. Maulana Abdul Sattar’s statements in Nawa-e-Waqt, including his suggestions on the settlement of the issue.
5. Zaid Hamid’s paper on the blasphemy law by the name of “Clearing the Minefield” submitted to the Council of Islamic Ideology.
6. The council’s response to the paper
First I’ll come to audio and video evidence. The court declared them inadmissible as a basic requirement for consideration of such material is that the person who has made these should identify himself. Basically the “pious muslim” who wanted to expose Yousaf Ali could not even standby the evidence he was providing. So basically, THE AUDIO AND VIDEO EVIDENCE HOLD NO IMPORTANCE.
Secondly the court clearly stated that all other charges against Yousaf Ali were not established. Also the court agreed that Yousaf Ali never claimed prophethood. Even the person who had filed the case said that Yousaf Ali had never claimed prophethood. The plaintiff said that he had only heard Yousaf Ali say that he was a Khalifa of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and the accuser assumed that the two mean the same thing. So, EVEN THE PERSON WHO HAD FILED THE CASE ADMITTED THAT YOUSAF HAD NEVER CLAIMED PROPHETHOOD, THE JUDGE AGREED BUT FELT THAT EVEN CLAIMING TO BE KHALIFA IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH.
It is interesting to note that even today some influential scholars including Israr Ahmed and Tahir-ul-Qadri take bait from their students.
Now the most interesting part. The plaintiff had also accused Yousaf of Zinah. According to the Sharia, if a person accuses another of Zinah and cannot prove it, he is labelled Qazaf and he has to be whipped and his testimony cannot be accepted ever. Hence the person who filed the case was a Qazaf. THE COURT GAVE YOUSAF ALI THE DEATH PENALTY ON THE STATEMENT OF A PERSON WHO’s TESTIMONY, ACCORDING TO ISLAMIC LAW, CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.
Further, many scholars most notably Maulana Abdul Sattar Niazi was of the opinion that a SESSIONS COURT was not the appropriate forum to decide this matter and suggested that a council be set up. In one of his statement to Nawa-e-Waqt, Maulana also explained the meanings of some of the more controversial things Yousaf Ali had said. And like I mentioned that several other scholars also wrote to the court pleading Yousaf’s innocence. So, NOTABLE SCHOLARS UNANIMOUSLY AGREED THAT YOUSAF ALI WAS NOT GUILTY OF THE CHARGES LEVELLED AGAINST HIM.
Now a probable question would be that how did so many scholars know Yousaf well enough to be so sure. That is because YOUSAF ALI HAD BEEN A MEMBER OF MAJLS-E-SHURA FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
About his relations with Yousaf Ali, Zaid Hamid said that he knew him well enough to know that the person would never claim Prophethood. However, he was not with Yousaf when this whole episode began and came to help him on the request of Maulana Abdul Sattar Niazi.
Also Zaid Hamid passed on some interesting information. He said that before the Blasphemy Laws were instated in the 80s (he mentioned the exact year but I cant recall) only 40 such cases had been filed. In almost 15 years after their instatement, 2000 were filed. Any sect who had problem with a scholar of some other sect would file a case against him. It was keeping this and Yousaf Ali’s case in mind that Zaid Hamid submitted his paper (refer to the list above). In this Zaid Hamid advocated strict punishments for people who make false accusations. The council accepted these suggestions and it was at this point in time that villification of Zaid Hamid began. Zaid Hamid also mentioned that he was consering doing a programme on the abuse on sectarian hatred and the abuse of blasphemy laws, however dropped the idea when the Yousaf Ali contrversy resurfaced because this would only fuel further speculation and once again take his attention of more important subjects.
This is just half the discussion. Zaid Hamid also divulged details about the actual intention of the case (there was a mention of a large sum of money in one of the testimonies)and the people involved . However, as I do not know these people, I will not propagate any rumours about them.

یوسف کذاب اور اس کے خلیفہ کی حقیقت
گزشتہ دنوں ایک شخص زید حامد کے بارے میں جسارت میں مضامین شائع ہوئے’ جن پر ہمارے کچھ قارئین بالخصوص خواتین کے طبقے نے اعتراضات کیے۔ اعتراضات کرنے والوں میں ایسے بھی تھے جن کی دینی فہم اور اسلام سے محبت مستحکم ہے، لیکن لاعلمی کی بنیاد پر اعتراضات وارد کیے گئے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ زید حامد کا سحر سر چڑھ کر بول رہا ہے۔ ٹی وی چینلز پر بہت اچھی گفتگو کرتے ہیں’ ایسی گفتگو کہ دین دار طبقہ کہہ اٹھے کہ یہ تو اس کے دل کی آواز ہے۔ زبان کا ایسا ہی کمال “جاہل آن لائن” میں بھی نظر آتا ہے۔ خطابت کے زور پر ذہنوں کو مسحور کرنا کوئی نئی بات نہیں۔ بھلا ہو ڈاکٹر فیاض عالم کا’ جنہوں نے انکشاف کیا کہ زید حامد جھوٹے نبی یوسف کذاب کے خلیفہ تھے۔ لیکن شاید جسارت کے کئی قارئین نے اس پر توجہ نہیں دی۔ یوسف کذاب کا دعویٰ ¿ نبوت اور اس کا انجام زیادہ پرانی بات نہیں۔ اسے لاہور کی عدالت نے سزائے موت دی تھی اور زید حامد نے نہ صرف فیصلے کی مخالفت کی بلکہ اس کی ضمانت کی کوشش بھی کرتے رہے’ مگر اسے کسی غیرت مند نے جیل میں ہی موت کے گھاٹ اتار دیا۔ زید حامد نے جھوٹے نبی کی اطاعت سے توبہ کا اعلان نہیں کیا۔ وہ توبہ کرلیں تو ہمارے سر آنکھوں پر، لیکن تب تک اُن سے متاثر ہونے والے ان کا پس منظر اپنے ذہن میں رکھیں۔ یوسف کذاب کون تھا، یادداشت تازہ کرنے کے لیے اس پر چلنے والے مقدمے کی تھوڑی سی روداد بیان کرنا مناسب ہوگا تاکہ زید حامد کا پس منظر بھی تھوڑا سا سامنے آجائے۔ سیشن جج لاہور کی عدالت میں چلنے والے اس اہم مقدمے کی پوری تفصیل ایک کتابی شکل میں شائع ہوچکی ہے جس کا عنوان ہے:”Judgment of yousuf kazzab blasphemy case” اسے جناب ارشد قریشی نے مرتب کیا ہے اور اس کاپیش لفظ سپریم کورٹ کے سینئر ایڈووکیٹ محمد اسماعیل قریشی نے لکھا ہے۔ قریشی صاحب ہی نے یوسف کذاب کے خلاف مقدمہ کی پیروی کی تھی جس کے نتیجے میں 5 اگست 2000ءکو جج میاں محمد جہانگیر نے مجرم کذاب کو موت کی سزا سنائی۔ اس فیصلے کو انہی زید حامد نے انصاف کا قتل قرار دیا۔ ان کے خیال میں توہینِ رسالت کا مرتکب اور خود نبوت کا دعویدار، اپنے دور کا کذاب ِعظیم ایک معزز صوفی اسکالر تھا۔ اب بھی وقت ہے کہ زید حامد یوسف کذاب سے برا¿ت کا اعلان کریں، جس نے بے شمار لوگوں کو اپنی خطابت کے سحر سے گمراہ کیا۔ اب آپ محمد اسماعیل قریشی کے قلم سے مقدمہ کی مختصر سی روداد اور تبصرہ ملاحظہ کریں۔ اللہ ہم سب کو دجالوں اور ابو جہل کے پیروکاروں سے محفوظ رکھے:

میں فاضل سیشن جج لاہور میاں محمد جہانگیر کے تفصیلی فیصلے مجریہ 5 اگست 2000ءپر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے جھجک رہا تھا جس میں فاضل جج نے یوسف علی کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی توہین کے جرم میں موت کی سزا دی ہے جب اس نے مدینہ منورہ سے اپنی واپسی پر نبوت کی آخری اور حتمی منزل طے کرلینے کا دعویٰ کیا تھا۔ مجرم کو سزائے موت کے ساتھ ساتھ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے نام پر دھوکا اور جعلسازی کے گھناﺅنے جرم کے ارتکاب کی سزا بھی دی گئی ہے۔ اس کو بلند مرتبت اہلِ بیت (علیہ السلام) اور صحابہ کرامؓ کا تقدس مجروح کرنے کی سزا بھی دی گئی۔ دوسرے یہ کہ میں نے اس پر کوئی تبصرہ کرنے سے اس لیے بھی گریز کیا کہ میں اس فیصلے کا حصہ ہوں اور میری کتاب “ناموسِ رسالت اور قانون توہین ِ رسالت” کا حوالہ مجرم نے مقدمے کی سماعت کرنے والی عدالت کے سامنے بار بار دیا۔ دریں اثناءمجرم کے ایک نام نہاد صحابی زید حامد نے ڈان شمارہ 13 اگست 2000ءمیں فیصلے کے بارے میں اپنی رائے کا اظہار کیا اور شر انگیزی کی اس پست ترین سطح تک گرگئے کہ اس فیصلے کو انصاف کا قتل قرار دے دیا اور مجرم کو ایک مہربان اور اسلام کے معزز صوفی اسکالر کے طور پر پیش کیا ہے۔ فیصلے کے بارے میں تبصرے سے ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ قانون کے بارے میں تبصرہ نگار کا علم کس قدر سطحی ہے۔ ان کے بیان کردہ حقائق سچائی کا مذاق اڑانے کے مترادف ہیں۔ اسی طرح ڈیلی نیوز لاہور میں اسی دن شائع ہونے والے مجرم کے بیان میں بھی مقدمے کے اصل متن کو مسخ کیا گیا ہے۔ اس گمراہ کن مہم نے مجرم کے ایک سابق قریبی ساتھی اور اسکالر جناب ارشد قریشی کو جو قادریہ صوفی سلسلے سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں’ فاضل سیشن جج کا مقدمہ کتابی شکل میں شائع کرنے پر مجبور کردیا تاکہ عوام مجرم کا اصلی روپ اس تاریخی مقدمے کی روشنی میں دیکھ سکیں۔ انہوں نے مجھ سے اپنی اس زیرِ طبع کتاب کے لیے پیش لفظ لکھنے کی درخواست کی۔ اس کتاب کے مو¿لف ایک اور کتاب “فتنہ یوسف کذاب” کے مصنف بھی ہیں جو تین جلدوں میں ہے۔ نہ صرف مقدمے کی سماعت کرنے والے فاضل جج بلکہ خود میرے اور ممتاز وکلا سردار احمد خان، ایم اقبال چیمہ، غلام مصطفی چوہدری، یعقوب علی قریشی اور میاںصابر نشتر ایڈووکیٹ پر مشتمل میرے پینل کے خلاف مجرم کی مسلسل ناجائز مہم جوئی کے پیش نظر میں نے یہ پیش لفظ لکھ کر عوام پر یہ بات واضح کرنا ضروری سمجھا کہ آدھا سچ صریح جھوٹ سے بھی زیادہ خطرناک ہے۔ جج صاحبان خود اپنے فیصلوں کا دفاع نہیںکرسکتے بلکہ وہ اپنے فیصلوں کے ذریعے کلام کرسکتے ہیں۔ اس لیے جو معاملہ عدالت سے تعلق رکھتا ہے تو عدالت خود ہی اس توہین آمیز مواد پر گرفت کرے گی لیکن میں صرف مدعی کے وکلا کی اس کردارکشی کو زیربحث لاﺅں گا جو بعض اخبارات کے ذریعے کی گئی ہے۔ جہاں تک مجرم کے طرزعمل اور کردار کا تعلق ہے تو اس نے عدالت میں پیش کردہ خود اپنی دستاویزات کے ذریعے ہی اپنی اصلیت ثابت کردی ہے کہ جدید مشینی طریقوں کے ذریعے انسانی ذہن اتنے بڑے فراڈ کو شاید ہی کبھی احاطہ¿ خیال میں لاسکا ہو۔ اس نے ایک دستاویز پیش کی جسے مقدمے کی سماعت کرنے والی عدالت نے سند ڈی 1 کے طور پر پیش کیا ہے اور جو اس کتاب کے شیڈول Iکا حصہ بھی ہے۔ اس دستاویز کے بارے میں اس لیے یہ دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ یہ وہ سرٹیفکیٹ ہے جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کو براہِ راست بھیجا ہے جس کی رو سے اس کو خلیفہ اعظم قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ میری جرح پر اس کے اعتراف کے مطابق تمام انبیاءکرام کو خلفائ’ زمین پر اللہ کے نائب مقرر کیا گیا تھا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خلیفہ اعظم، نائبین کے سربراہ اعلیٰ ہیں’ لہٰذا اس سرٹیفکیٹ کی رو سے اب وہ زمین پر خلیفہ اعظم ہے۔ جرح میں اس نے یہ بات بھی تسلیم کی کہ چاروں خلفاءمیں سے کوئی بھی خلیفہ اعظم کے مرتبے پر فائز نہیں تھا۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں اس نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرف سے خلیفہ اعظم کا یہ سرٹیفکیٹ اس کو کراچی کے ایک بزرگ عبداللہ شاہ غازی کی وساطت سے ان کے لیٹر پیڈ پر کمپیوٹر کے ذریعے بھیجا گیا تھا۔ دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ کراچی کے مذکورہ بزرگ 300 سال قبل وفات پاچکے ہیں۔ نبی کریم کی جانب سے انگریزی زبان میں مذکورہ سرٹیفکیٹ میں مجرم کو خلیفہ اعظم حضرت امام الشیخ ابو محمد یوسف کے طور پر مخاطب کیا گیا ہے۔ مذکورہ سرٹیفکیٹ میں مجرم کو علم کا محور اور عقل و دانش میں حرف ِآخر قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اس اعلان کی وضاحت کرتے ہوئے مجرم نے کہا کہ وہ قرآن پاک کا مفسر ہے۔ وہ حدیث اور فقہ کے بارے میں سب کچھ جانتا ہے۔ وہ تصوف کا ماہر ہے اور دنیاوی سائنسی علوم سے بھی واقف ہے۔ اس کے ہمہ جہت علم و دانش کا اندازہ لگانے کی غرض سے میں نے اس سے دینی علم کے بارے میں جرح کی اور جدید سائنسی تحقیق کے بارے میں بھی سوالات پوچھے۔ میں یہاں بتانا چاہوں گا کہ مجرم نے عدالت میں یہ بیان دیا تھا کہ اس کو تمام پیغامات براہِ راست رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عربی یا انگریزی میں موصول ہوتے ہیں۔ میں نے اس سے قرآنی لفظ “تقویٰ” کی دلیل کے بارے میں سوال کیا لیکن وہ اس کا جواب نہیں دے سکا۔ میں نے اس سے خلیفہ اعظم سرٹیفکیٹ کی پیشانی پر تحریر الفاظ “وسعت” اور “حشر” کے معنی پوچھے مگر وہ ان الفاظ کے آسان معنی بتانے میں بری طرح ناکام رہا۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ صحاح ستہ کے نام سے مشہور اور قرآن کے بعد پوری دنیا کے لیے انتہائی محترم حدیث کی چھ کتابوں کے نام بتانے سے بھی قاصر رہا۔ آل رسول کا دعویدار ہونے کے باوجود اس کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور حضرت علی ؓ کے بارے میں مدینتہ العلم کی انتہائی مشہور حدیث کا بھی کوئی علم نہیں۔ اسکول سرٹیفکیٹ اور اس کے سروس ریکارڈ کے مطابق اس کا نام یوسف علی ہے۔ (شیڈول II) ریٹائرمنٹ کے بعد اس نے لوگوں کو دھوکا دینے اور نبی کریم کے نام پر جعلسازی کے ذریعے بے تحاشہ پیسہ حاصل کرنے اور لاکھوں روپے مالیت کی جائداد بنانے کے مذموم مقاصد کے پیش نظر اپنے نام میں “محمد” کا اضافہ کرلیا۔ یہ حقائق اس کے اپنے اعترافات اور پیش کردہ دستاویزات سے ثابت ہیں ۔ اس کا دعویٰ ہے کہ اس نے اقبال کا گہرا مطالعہ کیا ہے’ لیکن وہ ان کے 6 خطبات سے نابلد ہے اور ان کی شاعری میں استعمال ہونے والی اصطلاحات کا مطلب جانتا ہے نہ ہی وہ اقبال کے فلسفہ¿ خودی کی وضاحت کرسکا۔ اس کا مولانا مودودی کے ساتھ منسلک رہنے کا دعویٰ بھی صریح غلط بیانی پر مبنی ہے اور جماعت اسلامی کی طرف سے اس کی تردید کی جاچکی ہے۔ اسی طرح وہ جدید سائنس کی الف، ب بھی نہیں جانتا اور ڈی این اے کا مطلب نہیں بتا پایا۔ اس نے یہ لفظ عدالت کے سامنے خود اپنے بیان میں استعمال کیا تھا۔ اپنے اس مذموم منصوبے کو تقویت بخشنے کی غرض سے اس نے نوجوانوں کی عالمی تنظیم ورلڈ اسمبلی آف مسلم یوتھ (WAMY) کا ڈائریکٹر جنرل ہونے کا دعویٰ کیا تھا جس کا صدر دفتر جدہ میں ہے اور جس کے دفاتر پوری دنیا میں پھیلے ہوئے ہیں۔ میں اس تنظیم کا ایسوسی ایٹ ممبر رہا ہوں لہٰذا میں نے فوری طور پر سیکریٹری جنرل ڈاکٹر مانج الجہنی سے رابطہ قائم کیا تو انہوں نے فوراً ہی فیکس کے ذریعے مجھے آگاہ کیا کہ “وامی” یوسف علی نام کے کسی شخص سے واقف نہیں ہے اور نہ ہی اس نام کے کسی شخص کو کبھی ڈائریکٹر جنرل مقرر کیا گےا تھا۔ مذکورہ خط میں واضح طور پر کہا گیا کہ اگر مذکورہ یوسف علی نے اپنا دعویٰ ثابت کرنے کے لیے کوئی دستاویز یا کوئی دوسرا مواد پیش کیا ہو تو اسے غلط اور جھوٹ تصور کیا جائے۔ سیکریٹری جنرل وامی نے اس کے خلاف قانونی کارروائی کرنے اور سزا دلانے کا اختیار بھی دیا۔ مذکورہ خط عدالت میں پیش کیا گیا اور یہ بھی شیڈول III کے طور پر منسلک ہے۔ مجرم نے اس جعلسازی پر ہی اکتفا نہیں کیا بلکہ اس نے خود کو سعودی عرب سے قبرص کے سفیر کے مرتبے پر بھی فائز کردیا اور ہزایکسیلنسی بن کر سابق چیف جسٹس حمودالرحمن اور جسٹس (ر) محمد افضل چیمہ کے ساتھ اپنی تصویر بھی کھنچوائی۔ (شیڈول IV)۔ تاہم جسٹس چیمہ نے اسلام آباد سے ٹیلی فون پر میرے استفسار پر ایسے کسی ہز ایکسیلنسی سے واقفیت کی تردید کی۔ مجرم نے اپنے بیان میں اس بات سے انکار کیا کہ وہ مرزا غلام احمد قادیانی کو جانتا ہے۔ مگر حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اس نے بھی وہی طریقہ کار اختیار کیا جو قادیان کے اس مرزا نے اختیار کیا تھا۔ یہاں یہ بتانا ضروری ہے کہ برطانوی حکومت نے بھارت کے مسلم حکمرانوں سے اقتدار غصب کرنے کے بعد انیسویں صدی میں توہینِ رسالت کا قانون منسوخ کردیا’ جبکہ انگلینڈ میں اُس وقت بھی یہ قانون آئین کا حصہ تھا۔ مرزا غلام احمد کو برطانوی حکومت کی طرف سے اسلام کے لبادے میں اپنے نئے مذہب کی مکمل حمایت حاصل تھی۔ لیکن اپنے آقاﺅں کی اس یقین دہانی کے بعد کہ برطانوی حکومت اس کے خلاف کسی بھی مذہبی تحریک کو پوری سختی سے کچل دے گی اس نے یہ اعلان کردیا کہ جو کوئی بھی اس پر ایمان نہیں لائے گا وہ دائرہ¿ اسلام سے خارج ہوجائے گا۔ اس کا یہ اعلان مکتوبات مطبوعہ مارچ 1906ء(شیڈولVI) میں موجود ہے۔ اس پس منظر کے ساتھ مجرم یوسف علی بھی مرزا غلام احمد کے نقش قدم پر چلا اور اس نے زبانی اور دستاویزی شہادت کے ذریعے یہ ثابت کردیا کہ وہ بھی اپنے مشن اور نبوت کے جھوٹے دعویدار کا حقیقی جانشین ہے۔ پہلے اس نے مذہبی حلقوں میں اسلام کے مبلغ کی حیثیت سے رسائی حاصل کی، پھر مرد ِ کامل، اس کے بعد امام الوقت یعنی مہدی ہونے کا دعویٰ کیا اور پھر خود کو خلیفہ اعظم قرار دے دیا۔ پھر اس نے “غار حرا” سے موسوم اپنے بیسمنٹ میں اپنے پیروکاروں کے سامنے اپنے نبی ہونے کا اعلان کردیا۔ وہ مرزا غلام احمد کی طرح اپنے اس جھوٹے دعوے پر بھی مطمئن نہیں ہوا اور اس نے خود کو نبی آخرالزماں سے (نعوذ باللہ) برتر ہستی ظاہر کرنے کے لیے یہ اعلان کردیا کہ 1400 سال قبل رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلمایک فریضہ سرانجام دے رہے تھے مگر دور حاضر میں اس نے نبوت اور اس کے حسن کو عروج کمال پر پہنچا دیا ہے۔ مجرم کے اس شرانگیز اور اشتعال انگیز دعوے کے ثبوت میں استغاثہ نے 14 گواہ پیش کیے جن میں کراچی سے بریگیڈیئر (ر) ڈاکٹر محمد اسلم (گواہ استغاثہ1)، محمد اکرم رانا (گواہ استغاثہ2 )’ محمد علی ابوبکر (گواہ استغاثہ7) اور لاہور سے حافظ محمد ممتاز عدانی، (گواہ استغاثہ نمبر4)’ میاں محمد اویس (گواہ استغاثہ5) شامل تھے جنہوں نے مجرم کی جانب سے نبوت اورختمی فضیلت کے جھوٹے دعوے کی براہِ راست عینی شہادتوں پر مبنی واقعات بیان کیے۔ سماجی اور مذہبی مرتبے کے حامل ان گواہوں کے ساتھ مجرم کی کوئی عداوت نہیں ہے۔ اس کے برعکس یہ لوگ اس کے اندھے عقیدت مند اور پیروکار تھے’ بالخصوص محمد علی ابوبکر تو اس سے اتنا قریب تھا کہ اسے مجرم آقا سے مکمل وفاداری اور اس کے احکام کی تعمیل اور بھرپور اطاعت کی بناءپر ابوبکر صدیق کا خطاب دیا گیا تھا۔ کراچی کے اس مرید نے اس کو لاکھوں روپے مالیت کے چیک اور ڈرافٹ دیئے اور اس کے لیے آراستہ و پیراستہ محل تعمیر کیا جس میں غار حرا بھی بنایا گیا تھا۔ مجرم نے نقد یا چیک اور ڈرافٹ کی شکل میں رقم وصول کرنے کی حقیقت سے انکار نہیں کیا۔ اپنے اس نام نہاد نبی کے حق میں اپنی تمام جائداد سے دستبردار ہونے پر اس کے صحابی کو صدیق کا خطاب عطاکیاگیا تھا۔ اس طرح مجرم نے رسول پاک کے نام پر معصوم لوگوں کو اپنے جال میں پھنسایا اور انہیں مفلسی اور محتاجی سے دوچار کردیا۔ جب اس نے اپنے خلاف مسلمانوں کے غیظ وغضب اور شدید اشتعال کی کیفیت دیکھی تو اپنی گردن بچانے کے لئے مرزا غلام احمد قادیانی کی طرح وہ بھی اپنے دعوے سے مکر گیا۔ اس کی تردید صریح دجل وفریب اور “محمد” “آل رسول” اور “صحابہ” کے مقدس الفاظ کی غلط ترجمانی کی عکاس تھی جیسا کہ ریکارڈ سے ظاہر ہے۔ یوسف علی نے مسلمان ہوکر بھی اپنے مذموم مقاصد کے لئے لوگوں کو دھوکا دینے اور مال ودولت اور جائداد کی خاطر رسول پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے نام پر معصوم لوگوں کو اپنے جال میں پھنسانے کے لےے توہین رسالت کے سنگین جرم کا ارتکاب کیا۔
