This is the SURGICAL STRIKE by India.The incompetence of security agencies and current Punjab and Federal governments compounded it.The likes of Rehman Malik Salman Taseer and their boss Zardari can only add to the country's miseries.A well trained Police force does not suffer casualties and allow the terrorists to escape where video footage suggests they should not have.CCPO Lahore should be arrested for gross negligence pending further probe.
CCPO Lahore after taking over his job removed the best Police personnel assigned for SriLankan team security and placed them on Governor's Security team.Apparently the personnel assigned to SriLankan Team did not know their job and were not briefed to confront such situations.They were mowed down and the rest including an SP simply fled the scene.They did not return any fire hence no terrorist was killed.Terrorists could be seen jogging unhindered all over the Liberty Chowk a very open area, and then they drove away.It was possible to trap them only if there was a plan.
No person in pakistan can attack cricket even the politicians and taliban are not smart enuf to do this kinda thing and i can not beleieve who voted for the other chocie except that for RAW

Though I am bitterly against religious extremist elements in Pakistan, I don't find any reason to see their involvement in this carnage. There is every reason to believe that Indian government is behind this. After they lost their case to attack Pakistan after staging the Mumbai drama, out of anguish now, they have carried out this desperate attempt to (further) sabotage Pakistan's image.
Of course Indians may have full support from elements in Pakistan and this attack might have been carried out by them as well, the ultimate mastermind is clearly Indian government and agencies.

jokes apart.. i think blames goes to the government for complete security failure..about the involvement anything can't be ruled out. Its not about going for or against anyone and i may be wrong but i don't think Talibans are involved here, they fight against our own government whereas this attack was targeted for a foreign team Sri Lankans. Any outside factor cannot be ruled out like RAW or even Tamil Tigers fighting the Sri Lankan army, and who are backed by India.

Why should there be no doubt about it, Tabish? Why can't you get over your own sentiments? It is shocking to see so many Pakistanis (who are educated and have access to internet) subscribing the view that India and RAW are behind such attacks!!! I shudder to think of the rest of countymen who are uneducated or are not well informed over what is happening the world over.
This too after the recent report that Taliban can possibly take over a major city like Karachi. And religious extremists having already taken over Swat establishing their own archaic laws in which case both the civil society and the army could not do much to prevent it.
The various conspiracy theories doing rounds on this discussion board and others, particularly the one stating that RAW was behind the attacks, are just ludicrous. If India had to get involved in the Sri Lankan crisis, it would have done so many months ago. LTTE lost the handful of sympathizers it had the day on which it killed Rajiv Gandhi. Besides, we cannot justify our nationhood comprising of people of so many ethnicities and at the same time sympathizing with the LTTE which seeks to establish a separate nation based on ethnicity. Let us not forget that the Sri Lankan army was trained and helped by Indian Army and India had sent Peace Keeping Forces to neutralize the LTTE not so long ago.
As for the Mumbai attacks being "staged" so that we get a premise to attack Pakistan, it is beyond my comprehension. "Staging" an attack on our financial capital and that too targeting the business elites will only result in a major international embarrassment and loss of investor confidence. Besides we are not a suicidal country. If the sole motive of “staging” the Mumbai attacks was to destroy Pakistan, why have we not attacked you yet?? Why have the surgical strikes not been carried out yet?
And how can a couple of terrorists attacking cricket players of an Indian-friendly nation be a surgical strike by India??!! In spite of having one of the largest forces in the world, India decided to send only 12 people to carry out a "surgical strike"? Leaving all the terrorists camps in Pakistan intact, it decided to attack a liberal city like Lahore which is at least in not under extremist control??!!
The arguments people come up with to absolve themselves of all blame is really amusing. I understand that being an Indian or a Pakistani, it is very easy to get carried over emotionally in such issues and blame the "other". It is a very convenient and easy way out and absolves all of our own responsibility in the matter. Regretfully many Indians also did that right after the Mumbai attacks even before any investigation had started!! But we need to get out of this kind of jacketed thinking asap and ask the questions that really matter rather than trying to show the other country down by manufacturing all kinds of silly arguments.
That was a complete intelligence failure.I dont know what the mighty ISI is doing these days.Normally in any field or department, when someone is unable to do the job he is assigned, that person is fired.If the problem is too widespread, then govt normally closes that department. If ISI and Army can't do the jobs of eliminating taliban, then the same logic should be applied to them. They should either be fired or the whole department closed.Why spend billions on a group of people everywhere who are useless and doing nothing? any comments..
I would agree with you Gaurav. It is sad to know that so many people are playing the "blame game" rather then addressing the core issue. Thats why we have not been able to exterminate these extremist groups. As a young Indian, who has close Pakistani friends, I cannot fathom a world of hatred and my friends dont either. I encourage these people who are blindly following the conspiricy theories to use logical thinking.
I feel bad for Pakistan for getting stuck in this rutt where there is fanatisizm, populus preasure, currupt and inept government and growing anger. With this, it will be hard to create real progress in the country, even though quite a few educated Pakistanis want to move on.
i think it's not ok to blame anyone for our own faults, in this way we cannot move forward. as a pakistani i would want to make my home safe first from any danger, lets suppose when a theif or a robber enters your house when the door is not locked, i can't blame the theif or the robber for that but would blame myself for the lack of responsibility shown by me and i would make sure, using all possible means, this doesn't happen again. I would install a burglar alarm or something like that to catch the theif next time:)

I myself witnessed the kind of lame security provided to SL players in Karachi. Only traffic police was on the roads to ensure the safe route from Hotel to Stadium. Only one Police Mobile was escorting the team's bus and hardly two private vehicles were escorting the bus. I am ashamed of my present Government. The Governor is so "Dheet" that he did not resign on this serious issue. Our biggest joker Mr. Rehman Malik is dead silent on his failures…
Thanks to Lord no SL players lost the life. But the loss is immense to Pakistan. Our rulers are in "Nasha" and they damn care about how grieved people of Pakistan are…Shame on PPP Government..I salute the martyred policemen and demand heavy compensation to them.
Finally, we must raise voice, because when a single dirty Minister passes by we can see scores of Policemen guarding every kilometer of his travel route..But for peace loving players, mere 10 policemen with ill weaponry were helplessly defending the Cricket team. I totally agree with Fatima here. I too am a Pakistani and a Lahori and what happened yesterday SHOULD make us face reality now. I cannot say with certainty it was RAW or Taliban but i can say 100% certainty that its the result of a dysfuctional, corrupt and incompitent government that we have whsoe sole purpose is to acquire power and more power perhaps. It is indeed sad that our president doesnt feel the need to say a word about this incident.

Also the way taliban brain wash young boys and men that by killing foreigners we embrace "shahadat" is not true. Islam has never taught us this nore is killing etc part of our teachings. If you had a chance to read history you would know islam wasnt spread like that either. did it clarify anything?

They quote from the quran true but not in its true context and its a vv ignorant version, sth like ebating of women, permissio for four marriages BUT they are unaware of the context and the logic.which if they do understand will make sense.
