New Iran – New Intentions

Guest blog by Ishaal Zehra

The attack which killed the National Deputy Commander of the ground forces of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (RG), General Noor Ali Shooshtari and the provincial commander for Sistan-Baluchistan, Rajab Ali Mohammadzadeh along with some senior officers and 42 others in a homicide bombing inflicted Iran’s worst military casualties in years.

Quick after the mishap, an Iranian military official went as far as to raise the prospect of a possible military offensive into Pakistan against the group blamed for the attack. “There is even unanimity that these operations (could) take place in Pakistan territory,” the ISNA news agency quoted MP Payman Forouzesh as saying. While the headquarters of Iran’s armed forces blamed the bombing on “terrorists” backed by “the Great Satan America and its ally Britain,” Fars News Agency said Sunday.

Islamabad strongly denied the allegations and said the attack was an attempt to “spoil ties” with Iran. “There are forces which are out to spoil our relations with Iran. But our ties are strong enough to counter these machinations,” said the Pakistan’s foreign ministry spokesman Abdul Basit while dismissing the allegations.

The point to ponder is that, how come Pakistan would be wishing to create unrest in some neighbour while its own house is burning. Pakistan has been the victim of worst type of terror since many years. The war which initially started in Afghanistan was purposely shifted to Balochistan province of ours as a part of the Great Game. Amid the GWOT the active involvement of many countries intelligence agencies in Balochistan was observed. These agencies, while playing with the internal conflicts of the center and the Baloch people, are subversively involved in provision of funds and arms to different armed groups. This has been proved many a times that the outlawed armed groups of Balochistan, BLA and BRA are funded and trained by Indian RAW. Even the websites of BLA and greater Balochistan are updated from India. The role of Indian consulate offices in Afghanistan is suspected since their origin.

Keeping in view the sensitivity of the problem, it is difficult for India to openly support the Baluch insurgency because it may harm her relations with Iran (never bother about Pakistan). If the Indians will come out openly in support of the BLA, anti-Indian elements in Pakistan will quickly bracket New Delhi with the alleged Great Game of the US against Iran.

Indian relation with Iran have generally been viewed by observers as a tightrope walking to balance out her interests in Iran as well with the US. India, knowingly, that sidestepping the international community’s efforts to thwart Iran’s so-called drive for nuclear weapons would only devalue her credibility in the eyes of global power, New Delhi is fast trying to convey an unambiguous message that a nuclear armed Iran is as unacceptable to India as it is to the US, the U.K. or France. Hence, India (a good time’s friend) seems to be all set to dump Tehran to seek new alliances and please her new friends.

Iran is a regional power and an aspiring nuclear state which poses a threat to Israeli expansionism in Middle East. There is no denying the fact that Iran’s nuclear programme has been a persistent worry for both, US and Israel. And the choice between new allies and old friend is getting tough on India. To understand India’s dilemma, it requires a critical view of her relation with both Israel and Iran. There has been a steady strengthening of the India’s relationship with Israel ever since India established full diplomatic relations with Israel in 1992. Ever since then, the flourishing Indo- Israel relationship has gained much potential to make a significant impact on the global politics, by altering the balance of power not only in South Asia but the Middle East as well. Today, India has become the biggest market for Israeli arms with their strategic, defence and intelligence cooperation growing at a rapid pace. Where as, on the other hand, the vast oil and gas reserves of Iran serve magnetic affiliation to the quenching India’s long term thirst for energy. And yet another attraction in Iran’s case is that she offers India access to Afghanistan and Central Asia, side-lining Pakistan.

Given the scenario, India is more likely to tilt towards Israel in future. As regardless of her important ties with Arab countries and Iran, her lure for intelligence consultations with Israel seems a durable one. Until now, India has veered between cooperation and altercation in case of Iran yet in the time to come we may expect India to go along with Israel and US in destroying Iran, one of the country in Bush’s war against his self-selected axis of evil. A nuclear Iran suspected of supporting Palestinians and organizations sympathetic to them, faces a great threat of attack on its nuclear installations. And India would support such an operation clandestinely, while opposing in front of the world, not to annoy Iran because of economic reasons. Amusingly, India’s interest in the proposed IPI gas line project diminished sharply from the time the US-India nuclear deal began to take shape. Probably, the US wants to undermine India-Iran economic relations to such an extent that New Delhi becomes a stakeholder in its plan against Iran.

The geopolitical implications of the collaborations between India, US and Israel are grave and manifold. Despite the denials, India is playing a secret role in US strategy against Iran for past many years. India regardless of having close ties with Iran stabbed her in the back by joining EU-3 on Iran’s nuclear issue. It is no more a secret that EU-3 is no longer acting independently, but as a surrogate of the US. How piteous that a democracy ended up as a deputy of a surrogate. History has witnessed how India once used the friendly ties with Tehran as a ladder to achieve US and European community’s support to secure permanent seat in Security Council. Thanks to her mean and wanton nature which made her vote twice against the same Iran in the IAEA governing board, thus endorsing the US agenda for confrontation with Iran. Nevertheless, the Indian vote against Iran has extensively lowered her global structure and credibility. Despite her close economic and political relations, if India could stab a friendly country like Iran in the back, then she could not be considered trustworthy by other developing countries.

The thriving indo-Israeli relations are posing a direct threat to Iran. Their trade has grown exceptionally over the years, especially after the launch of Israeli spy satellite from the Indian Space center, the tie got even stronger. The launch of TecSAR has considerably enhanced Israel’s intelligence-gathering capability. The satellite is clearly affecting the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, as its ability to produce image in adverse weather and even at night allowed Israel to obtain more information about the Iranian nuclear programme. Though India officially argues that she has commercially utilized her advanced technological capacity but the act brought to light India’s full cooperation to dissuade, isolate and if necessary sanction and contain Iran. Nevertheless, Iran should realize that a friend of your enemy can never be your friend and India has already established herself as Israel’s friend and Iran’s foe at many instances.

It is time that India’s credibility as a friendly democracy should be weighed by other developing countries of the world. The Indo-Israel nexus, under the US patronage, is posing a threat to the Muslim world. All their ambitions revolve around targeting particularly Muslim states that are energy rich and either nuclear or threshold nuclear states. It is high time that the Islamic countries take a unified and concrete step to cater this ghastly menace, or else it might become too late.

Iran opposition protesters return to streets

TEHRAN, Iran – The contrasts were vivid: Pro-government supporters chanted "Death to America" and stomped on U.S. flags Wednesday while not far away, hundreds of opposition protesters denounced Iran's leaders and appealed to America's president to choose sides.

"Obama, Obama, you are either with them, or with us," the anti-government protesters chanted in Farsi, in an amateur video clip widely circulated on the Internet.

The new and startling appeal to President Barack Obama came as Iran's opposition protesters returned to the streets in large numbers for the first time in nearly two months. Authorities were ready with the same sweeping measures they used to quell fierce election-fraud protests this summer and early fall: Sending paramilitary units to key locations to fire tear gas and beat people with batons.

Witnesses said they heard a man, apparently working for a paramilitary group, shout "Beat him up, beat him up," as he chased a protester in the crowd. "How is it possible to see such cruelty," another protester cried as he stood on the street, according to the same witnesses, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of fear of reprisals.

it is sad but it is true that contrary to popular perception iran is not a friendly nation for pakistan.

UNITED STATES, IRAN AND INDIA all three are united on one point agenda that is the separation of balochistan.

i would suggest to read ex diplomate dr nazeer zakir on this issue.

Wrong again. Iran was the first country who recognized Pakistan after Pakistan came into being in 1947. If Iran is not friendly with Pakistan then explain this:

If that is so then what is this:

In 2005 "Dr. Abdul Qadeer gave some centrifuges to Iran," the minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "He helped Iran in his personal capacity, and the Pakistan government had nothing to do with it." In a seminar arranged by Mir Khalil ur Rehman, the federal Information Minister Sh. Rasheed said:

Pakistan: Khan Gave Nuke Material to Iran Thursday, March 10, 2005 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,149995,00.htm

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — After years of denials, Pakistan admitted Thursday that its top nuclear scientist sold crucial equipment to Iran (search), but said it knew nothing of his activities when they occurred and insisted he will not be turned over to another country for prosecution.

The admission by the Pakistani information minister was the first public acknowledgment that Abdul Qadeer Khan (search) provided Iran's secret nuclear program with centrifuges, a crucial component needed to enrich uranium and produce nuclear material for warheads.

"Dr. Abdul Qadeer gave some centrifuges to Iran," the minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "He helped Iran in his personal capacity, and the Pakistan government had nothing to do with it."

Ahmed initially made the admission at a seminar in Islamabad (search) organized by a local newspaper group, in which he stuck by Pakistan's insistence that Khan would never be handed over to a third country for prosecution. The scientist is considered a hero by his countrymen for nearly single-handedly producing atomic bombs for Pakistan to counter rival India's nuclear arsenal.

Wrong Again. Dear Jawwad Sahab, do read current affairs in Foreign Policy in Focus for latest update on rapidly changing world. Pakistani Newspapers [minus one or two] are not suggested for reading and learning any kind of factual reporting about World Affair.

India’s vote in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against Iran in September came as no surprise to anyone who has followed closely the recent course of India’s foreign policy. It is a safe guess that support for U.S. actions on Iran was one of the conditions of India’s nuclear deal with the United States, which was given the final seal of approval by President Bush during the July 2005 visit of the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Washington. i presented the view point of a experienced diplomate. and a diplomate has a better understanding of these kinds of issues.

i think the answer of typical iranian behaviour is hidden in their struggle for revival of persian empire.

iran wants to become a regional power to dominate the neighboring arab countries and want to take control of the 2 holly mosques along with makkah mukarrama and madina munawwara.

israel is the biggest hurdle in this quest because israel is already working as regional super power.

the renaissance of persian civilization and shia dominance are the main reasons of typical irani behaviour.

the biggest goal of iranian leadership is to bring america on the table of dialogue and acceptance of iran as a regional power.once they achive these two goals i am 100% sure they will forget all about palestine and israel.

kindly read george friedman. he has a great quality of indepth analysis.

on the other hand iran's interest in balochistan is a historical background.

many believe that iran sees balochistan as a separated part of iran.

Ex COAS mirza aslam baig by himself testified that(he was shocked to see a map of greater iran in the office of iranian army general.balochistan was included as a part of iran in that map.(unfortunately i am unable to recall the refrence ):

Veracity of Mirza Aslam Beg is as under:

Please note that nobody sued the Reporter/Columnist for the allegations raised against "Thief" Aslam Beg and there is a Human Right petition [filed by Air Marshal Asgher Khan] still pending in Supreme Court against him:

    "QUOTE"

In September of 1994 Kamran Khan of The News and The Washington Post came calling. He told me how earlier that year he had asked for an appointment with the then leader of the opposition, Nawaz Sharif, to interview him on his relationship with the army and the security services whilst he was prime minister. He was asked to go to Lahore and meet the Mian. When on May 16 Kamran arrived at Nawaz's Model Town house, there was an army of men equipped with bulldozers demolishing the security fences and structures Nawaz had built on adjoining land, not his to build upon (akin to those built around Karachi's Bilawal House). The breakers had been on the job since dawn. Kamran found Nawaz angry but composed. He was amply plied and refreshed with 'badaam-doodh' and Nawaz, his information wizard Mushahid Hussain and he settled down to talk and continued to do so until late afternoon when Kamran left to fly back to Karachi. We never learn from history By Ardeshir Cowasjee dated 21 July 2002 Sunday 10 Jamadi-ul-Awwal 1423 http://www.dawn.com/weekly/cowas/20020721.htm

Nawaz opened up by congratulating Kamran on his Mehrangate exposures which had recently appeared in the press, asking how the inquiry was progressing, and giving his own views. They exchanged information, each believing the other was being informed. They talked about how COAS Aslam Beg (sporter of shades in the shade) managed to get Rs 14 crore (140 million) from Yunis Habib, then of Habib Bank. This was deposited in the 'Survey Section 202' account of Military Intelligence (then headed by Major-General Javed Ashraf Kazi). From there Rs 6 crore was paid to President Ghulam Ishaq Khan's election cellmates (General Rafaqat, Roedad Khan, Ijlal Hyder Zaidi, etc.), and Rs 8 crore transferred to the ISI account. After lunch, Nawaz brought up the subject of how Aslam Beg early in 1991 had sought a meeting with him (then prime minister) to which he brought Major-General Asad Durrani, chief of the ISI. They told him that funds for vital on-going covert operations (not identified by Nawaz) were drying up, how they had a foolproof plan to generate money by dealing in drugs. They asked for his permission to associate themselves with the drug trade, assuring him of full secrecy and no chance of any trail leading back to them. Dear Jawwad Sahab,

Dont worry they read Mawdudi Sahab's book in Qum!

    Reference:

Mawdudi’s works began to appear in Iran in the 1960s. They were translated into Persian from Arabic by Ayatollah Hadi Khusrawshahi and members of a translating team working with him. Articles on Mawdudi and excerpts from his works also appeared in various issues of Khusrawshahi’s journal Maktab-i Islam. Following the revolution of 1978–1979, a number of Mawdudi’s works were translated into Persian from Arabic by Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Khamana’i. Interestingly, the first Persian translation of a work of Mawdudi was done in Hyderabad, Deccan, by Mahmud Faruqi in 1946; RJI, vol. 4, 90.

Read A book mentioned below to know as to what kind of Filthy Language Mawlana Mawdudi and his brother Khomeini used against Prophets [PBUT] and against the Companions [May Allah be pleased with everyone of them] of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH]. I am deply pleased to see this article, written with openness ,depth and focusing on future of Pakistan and geo politics.

Iran is a good example of surviving the sanctions from USA and surviving as a country who do not shy away from showing anti USA and Israel sentiment.

They fought Iraq a long war and they have grave yards full of bodies from revolution and from the war.

Iran never volunteers to take sides against any Muslim country including Iraq when USA wanted to invade Iraq.

Afghan war is at their border but they are keeping themselves out.

The progress this country has made in terms of road building, rail network ,the progress in Stem cells research to plastic surgery is all fantastic…..

I think Iran is a role model, better than many other countries.

    ——-

The writer has missed to mention China ,it is a very important friend in terms of geo politics .

Recently I read somehwere that China has suggested that oil price should not be fixed in US dollars ,instead a currency agreed upon by ,China,Korea, and Arab countries.very positive.

Pakistan must try to improve its relations with Iran and the whole belt of Islamic world can work together with Europe as a unity not a Caliphate but a loose federation .

I do not think Saudi Arabia is in danger from any Islamic country.Saudi's are getting into controvercies like 9/11 is related to them somehow because of close ties with USA and Bush.

Personal conflict with Osama cannot be missed in the whole scenario of Afghan war.

We must not under-estimate Israel ,India and USA .

It is about time we should form new friends and coalations.

    ——

the future of Islamic Countries is in their own hands .Like Europe they can work together .

Or they can be sucked in to the differences and clashes of Sectarian differences.

    ——

they should have treaties and pacts signed among themselves and let us keep the terms business instead of friends.

    ——-

In one recent interview a layman Afghani said they do not wish their country to be built after USA instead they look for inspiration towards Iran……

i felt sorry that inspiration is not Pakistan.

I am very optimistic about the future of Pakistan if we are saved from the human influx from India in the name of friendship and open trade policey……

    To Farrah Shah,

I've some queries that annoy me to the zenith of annoyance, should they once be deemed and answered by you, that will satisfy my curiousity.

Just like the enemy of my enemy is my friend, similarly, the friend of my enemy is my enemy. I am bedazzled to add that both utmost brotherly countries bordering with Pakistan namely, Afghanistan and Iran are friends of India, and have reportedly levelled same kind of allegations against Pakistan, maintaining that Pakistan is helping terrorists infiltrate into their countries and must stop in order for herself to avoid a possible military offensive into Pakistan, in a tongue that is severely unfamiliar to the norms that must exist amongst true brotherly nations; are these allegations not exactly within the sound of the dear state's inimical voice with which Pakistan is bordered in the east?

Having the aforementioned impartially formed inside your mind; without regard to the Islamic heritage, the religious sights, Muslim brethren and sisters, and with exclusive regard to the people in power and their policies, would you still want 'Pakistan' to make efforts shamelessly like a lifeless donkey for bettering relations with Afghanistan, the country which ceases not to mother opposition against Pakistan before Secuirty Council, United Nations; and Iran, the country which, a few weeks back, sent 11 Iranian soldiers across Pakistani border; unjustifiably increased the assessed value of Pakistani Kinnow; and subsequently, arrested Pakistani fishermen, and is seriously bent upon showing the same gesture of brotherhood?

Your response will be thoroughly considered and appreciated.

    Hi Derrek

The thesis I am trying to present is Muslim countries should unite.

You have a set idea in your mind,"Just like the enemy of my enemy is my friend, similarly, the friend of my enemy is my enemy. "

When I am thinking on the basis of let us try to find out similarities and assosiate ourself with this group, who has acceptability for us.Where we do not have to explain our religion and a way of life.

In Afghanistan or Iran people are killed for political reasons not because they are MUSLIMS.

Whereas people are killed and attacked by India ,Israel and USA because of their religion.

If Afghanistan and Iran are friends with India and not with us…we have to think why not?

The point to be noted is Iran ,Afghanistan and China governments are not intimidating.Watching Ahmede Nijad offering prayer on a motorway is very similar to what my husband does.

Whereas we have to satisfy Israel,USA and India that he was only offering prayers and not reciting formulae for Nuclear Bomb.

Perhaps your direct question should be why I think we should be friends with Afghanistan,Iran and China and not with India?

We are friends with India as well.We watch Indian films, listen to indian Music but I am highly uncomfertable at the idea of ,GREATER PUNJAB,Greater Balouchistan.

Uncircumscribed dead bodies found inside the Taliban compounds with beards and tasbeehs…….

Friendship with India I am not against it ,honestly speaking I feel threatened, one small pan market in Annar Kali where the stuff comes from India overtook the trade of whole of LAHORE ,when last time trade was easied…..during Nawaz time…..

to me open trade and business with India means we will choke ourselves, economically (if there is any)

whereas between Iran and Pakistan Trade is still on,during Shah time many Pakistanis used to work there and we are hosting Afghan people for past half century ,they do not want to dominate us.

Whereas I feel India wants to dominate the world and it will indeed.

So instead of being sorry ,it is better to be prepared.

I live in a real world.India is huge.

    Dear Ms Farrah,

No doubt your intentions are praise worthy and May Allah accept your fervent prayers, Aa'men. But Unite on which interpretation of Islam?

Prophet Mohammad صلي اللّه عليه وسلم said :

Verily my Ummah, will not agree on error and the hand of Allah is upon the community; he who sets himself apart from it will be set apart in Hell Fire.

[Tirmidhi, Mishkatul Masabeh, Mustadrak Al Hakim and it is also in Tafsir Ibn-e-Kathir]

    Another version:

“Verily Allah will not make Muhammad’s Community agree on error.” [Al-Hakim narrated it in the Mustadrak Al Hakim]

    Another version:

“Verily Allah will not make my Community agree on error” [Tirmidhi].

Your question is very valid. These differences do exist.Even within countries this difference exist for Example in Turkey ,Ankara is anchored in the tradional Islam and in Istanbol people are extremely Westernised .

This conflict is in Dubai ,in Iran,in Afghanistan and in Pakistan.

The state must not interfere into the personal lives and believes of people.

Surprisingly writing this sentence ,when British government does not dictate me religion I am free to be a Muslim or a free thinker .This is how the states should be.

    ——-

Than at the same time, how Saudi Arabia or Iran handles thier own internal state of affairs should not affect us.

If people are going to shrines in Iran and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia does not allow it we must respect it.

    ———

Regarding the scholars agreeing on one point ,that is not possible. We agree on The Book,Quran, the Prophet Muhammad …..

because their are as many interpretations as many human beings.

Quaran is constant and we must try to preserve the works of our earliest scholars.

O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers. [AL-HUJRAAT (THE PRIVATE APARTMENTS, THE INNER APARTMENTS) Chapter 49 Verse 11]

O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that (so abhor the other)! And keep your duty (to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful. [AL-HUJRAAT (THE PRIVATE APARTMENTS, THE INNER APARTMENTS) Chapter 49 Verse 12]

O ye who believe! Enter not houses other than your own without first announcing your presence and invoking peace upon the folk thereof. That is better for you, that ye may be heedful. [AL-NOOR (THE LIGHT) Chapter 24 Verse 27]

    HADITH:

Abu Huraira [May Allah be pleased with him]narrates that the Holy Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] said, “The killing of a Muslim by another unjustly, usurping others’ wealth or defaming other Muslims is totally forbidden (or Haram).” (Muslim)

The Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] has spoken in very clear terms about misplaced suspicion, giving clear orders to refrain from it. One clearly authentic hadith that groups together some of the actions that cause discord within the community and make people dislike one another is reported by Abu Hurairah. He quotes the Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] as saying: “Beware of suspicion, for it is the most untrue of what people say. Do not spy against one another, or compete with one another. Do not boycott, envy or hate one another, but remain — you servants of God — brothers and sisters.” [Bukhari, Muslim, Sunnan Abu Dawood and Sunnan Tirmidhi]

One of the Prophet’s wives, Safiyyah [May Allah be pleased with her], mentions that one day, as the Prophet was spending the last ten days of Ramadan in the mosque, devoting his time to worship, she came to visit him. She sat with him for sometime before she left. The Prophet walked with her towards her home. As they were close to the door of the mosque, passing close to Umm Salamah’s (his other wife) door, two men from the Ansar passed by and greeted the Prophet. The Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] said to them: “Wait a moment. This is Safiyyah.” They said: “Limitless is God in His glory.” They felt very bad, but the Prophet said to them: “Satan goes as close to man as his own blood, and I feared that he might put something into your minds.’” [Bukhari, Muslim and Sunnan Abu Dawood]

Sometime suspicion arises because of an event or a misfortune. Abdullah ibn Masoud says: “A person who has been victim of theft continues to suspect until his offence becomes greater than that of the thief.” [Imam Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad]

The Prophet’s companions, particularly the scholars among them, understood this well and acted on it. Abu Al-Dardaa was one such scholar among the Prophet’s companions. One day he received a letter from Mu’awiyah, the caliph, asking him to write down for him the names of all transgressors in Damascus. Abu Al-Dardaa said: “What business would I have with the transgressors in Damascus? How would I know who is a transgressor?” His son, Bilal, said: “I will write their names.” He did so. His father said to him: “How do you know them? You cannot know that they are transgressors unless you are one of them. Begin with mending your own conduct.” He refused to send their names to Mu’awiyah. (Imam Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad].

    Then what's this?

In 2005 “Dr. Abdul Qadeer gave some centrifuges to Iran,” the minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. “He helped Iran in his personal capacity, and the Pakistan government had nothing to do with it.” In a seminar arranged by Mir Khalil ur Rehman, the federal Information Minister Sh.

The admission by the Pakistani information minister was the first public acknowledgment that Abdul Qadeer Khan (search) provided Iran’s secret nuclear program with centrifuges, a crucial component needed to enrich uranium and produce nuclear material for warheads.

“Dr. Abdul Qadeer gave some centrifuges to Iran,” the minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. “He helped Iran in his personal capacity, and the Pakistan government had nothing to do with it.”

Ahmed initially made the admission at a seminar in Islamabad (search) organized by a local newspaper group, in which he stuck by Pakistan’s insistence that Khan would never be handed over to a third country for prosecution. The scientist is considered a hero by his countrymen for nearly single-handedly producing atomic bombs for Pakistan to counter rival India’s nuclear arsenal.

to understand the foreign policy of Iran and its grim reality, you have to read the “treacherous alliance” by Trita parsi. with out that you can not understand the anti israel rhetorics of iran.
As i said iran has one goal. which is supremacy in the region. currently this aim is facing a dilemma of its national interest and its image as an islamic republic.
contrary to india pakistan has no place in iranian ambition of becoming regional power.

Sovereign Countries formulate Foreign Policy though Institutionalized Decisions [Parliament] and such matters are discussed at public forums by those who are experts and then it becomes Foreign Policy. One must feel sorry that it is not the case in Pakistan where Mediocre Khurpas dictate Foreign Policy to those Career Foreign Affairs who spend their life studying strategies, law, foreign policies around the world to reach at best decision but tragedy is that any Staff College Mediocre Khurpa bulldoze in Foreign Affairs Ministry and start dictating the career officers and these Khurpas after retirement often become Megalomaniacs e.g. Beg, Gul, and Musharraf would be very soon and some of them end up in Raiwind after enjoying everything in their Career e.g. Mahmud [Fromer ISI Chief], Sirohi [Former Navy Chief], and Javed Nasir [Ex ISI Chief]

Lt. General (r) Javed Nasir (Former DG ISI) while talking about the potential financial difficulties if nuclear tests were done stated, “what Pakistan will miss in terms of foreign loans? Brigadier Gulzar Ahmad explaining the role of celestial powers to lessen his troop casualties in 1965 war stated, “There was a hidden hand deflecting the rounds which would otherwise have taken a heavy toll of the advancing troops”.

[My Comment: Where was that hand during the fall of Dhaka]

According to Gen Mitha, it was Gul Hasan who saved Brig Zia-ul-Haq, as he then was, from being sacked. Zia was in Jordan. The year was 1971. Gen Yahya received a signal from Maj Gen Nawazish, the head of the Pakistan military mission in Amman, asking that Zia be court-martialled for disobeying GHQ orders by commanding a Jordanian armour division against the Palestinians in which thousands were slaughtered. That ignominious event is known as Operation Black September. It was Gul Hasan who interceded for Zia and had Yahya let him off. Mitha was treated very badly. His Hilal-i-Jurat was withdrawn in February 1972, something that also appears to have been Gul Hasan’s handiwork.

    Sir,

Foreign Policies are not made after reading Romeo Juliet but policies are made as per Selfish National Interest. Read a Glimpse of Israel's Ruthless Policy [no Muslim Country is involved]:

A quote from BY WAY OF DECEPTION An Insider’s Devastating Expose of The Mossad by Claire Hoy & Victor Ostrovsky {Arrow Books 1988}:

“Sympathy for the Tamils runs high in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where 40 Million Tamils live. Many Sri Lankan Tamils, escaping the bloodshed, have sought refuge there, and the Sri Lankan government has accused Indian officials of arming and training the Tamils. They should be cursing the Mossad.” The Tamil were training at the commando naval base, learning penetration techniques, mining landings, communications, and how to sabotage ships similar to the Devora. There were about 28 men in each group, so it was decided that Yosy should take the Tamils to Haifa that night while I took the Sinhalese to Tel Aviv, thus avoiding any chance encounters. The real problem started about two weeks into the courses, when both the Tamils and Sinhalese – unknown to each, of course – were training at Kafr Sirkin.

“ Look, we have a problem,” said Amy. “We have a group of 27 SWAT team guys from India coming in.” “ My God,” I said, “What is this? We’ve got Sinhalese, Tamils, and Now Indians. Who’s next?” Page 130.

what should a muslim father do when he see his 20 year old son drinking wine? or when he see his 19 year old daughter going out for a "full fledge date" should he say that "i should not interfere in his/her personal life" and that "he/she can decide the matters of right and wrong by himself" for non muslim and pseudo muslim moderate the answer is easy. but for an ordinary muslim this situation is unacceptable.

    why?

because muslim do not share the same consepts of freedom and social liberties as western world do.that is why we become outraged on blasphemy issue.
