A woman in Sweden has thrown a shoe at the Israeli ambassador Benny Degan and it him in the chest as he was giving a lecture on Israel’s forthcoming elections. While another person hurled two books but unfortunately missed the dignitary.
Ylva Kornheffer, a board member of the Stockholm Association of Foreign Affairs, the student association which organised the seminar, said she was “sitting in the front row and suddenly a shoe was flying over my head”. “The girl who threw the shoe asked the policemen to give it back to her. It was a red Nike shoe,” The motive was believed to be a protest against Israel’s policy toward the Palestinians.
The two protesters, who were shouting insults, were then escorted out of the room by police. They were taken to a local police station but were released after being questioned. – It seems the new lethal weapon of choice is the ‘SHOE’

Please cool down. I appreciate your love for your religion but I would request you to please respect other religions as well. This is the Order of Allah SWT in Holy Quran, "Invite them to the way of your Lord by preaching and and argument in an honorable way."
This is becasue we preach for the sake of humanity as we Muslims do not want them to meet the end that has been promissed to them by Allah SWT if they die as non-muslims.
Please ask them towards Quran. Ask them what they can support their religion with. And even if after all the logic, they do not find the TRUTH of Isalm, then as Allah SWT Says in Holy Quran addressing Muhammad PBUH and us as well, " Your job is just to convey". Guidance is from Allah SWT Only and He Gives it only to whom who seeks Guidance.

The point of detroying of Budha Statue by Taliban Govt that you have raised has been amicably answered by the Afghan Minister visiting USA before 9/11 for the consumption of the audience in one of the Universities there. He told the students that Afgans were short of food and medicines. we did not seek assistance from the west for food but requested them not to stop supply of medicines. West refused the request. Hundreds of Afgan children died because of non availability of essentially required medicines. During those periods. the whole of west had boycotted Afghans just because they had implemented Islam in Afghanistan. May be not exactly as the teaching quran and Sunnah yet it was so fruitful that Afghanistan became free of lawlessness and the ploughing of opium had stopped comletely.
The Fagn Minister said that we were flatly refuseed the supply of medicines by the west. Later the Swede Govt (may Norwegian Govt, I am forgeting the exact country name) offered them aid for upkeep of Budda Statue. This enraged the Afgans that the western people did not care about their children but were more interested in the upkeep / maintenance of Budda statues. So in anger and to show the west that Afgans did not casre about the Budda statues if they did not care about their children, destroyed the statues.
This is the true story. And I support Afghans in their stance. Afghans like any other country, have all the right to adopt to whatever form of govt in their state. If the chose to practice Islam, it was no concern of west or for that matter any one else. I hope you would understand that human lives are more precious than lifeless idols no matter how old or precious these may be. Idols are idols and humans are humans.
And remember Islam is not weak. Reason of destroying the statues has been mentioned above.
