As I write this blog post I have been at a loss of words, I was shocked to read at the PKKH website that today [Saturday 27th June] the Sindh Assembly kicked off its session with a minutes silence in honor of Michael Jackson, yes you read that one correct ‘the moonwalking maestro – Jacko’ was honored with a minutes worth of silence, the logic, the rationality behind sending this message from our official public offices truly befuddles the daylights out of me
PKKH: Just when you think our so called ‘elected representatives’ can’t embarrass us anymore, they tend to prove us wrong. The Sindh Assembly this morning held a minute’s silence for Michael Jackson’s sad demise.
This news comes in close proximity to the controversy where the Presidency has allegedly removed the picture of the founding father of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah and replaced it with the various Bhutto-Zardari portraits
I could not help stop myself from laughing at the passion with which Dan Qayyum expresses his frustrations at watching the Sindh Assembly bow down to Michael Jacksons tune for a minute of silence.
The point isn’t whether Jacko was a global superstar or that he had reportedly converted to Islam – Michael Jackson had absolutely f*ck-all to do with Pakistan, its history, its culture, its language, its people and its politics. This is the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Pakistan, not the California State Assembly. Or are we now officially the 51st state? What next? Will Muttahida’s gun toting ‘activists’ and PPP Jayalas forcefully shut all businesses in Karachi for a shutter-down strike next time Britney shaves her head? Or will we have a national day of mourning when Paris Hilton’s little pooch dies?

I am the biggest Pakistani Michael Jackson fan ever I can assure you, however Its pretty damn sad that we had a minute silence for Jackson, and not even for someone like NFAK when he passed away.

I think we need to take things in their own stride. I absolutely see nothing wrong with what sindh assembly did. I was never an MJ fan, but I think we need to appreciate art, music and pay our tribute to other forms of creativity and expression.
In fact, I am pleasantly surprised, this step should be appreciated, it has shown we are part of global community, and value art and music and artists no matter where they are.

in islam GOD posseses absolute supreme power.when he desire a thing to happen he says "be it" and things come into being.he created every thing just by saying "KUN" he is not like a boss of a multinational company who is dependant of so many employees…..please. He can do things beyond human imagination.(at least it is a faith of muslim shared by jews and christians,hindus and budhists)

2) prophets came here to deliver the message of ALLAH(SWT).tell me what a prophet should tell the people when they ask question about Allah,judgement day,earth and heaven, paradise and hell??? should a prophet say that "sorry i can't say because it sounds arrogant and delusional???….how funny and absurd.
