Last night GEO.tv was scheduled to re-broadcast the Jawab Deh where Iktikhar (also known as ‘Fitna’) the show host was interviewing Imran Khan and his tell-all attack on MQM. Reports of the blocked channel came first from Gulshan and it was soon verified by GEO where a number of areas across the country were blocked. My own World Call connection at home had swapped the GEO News channel and had started showing TCM (Classic Movies) instead.
The show had a disclaimer in the beginning that Geo does not subscribe to Imran’s views. In the end Fitna offered Farooq Sattar a show to reply to Imran’s accusations.

I am a so called mohajir who spent most of his life in Karachi. I saw MQM take over my beloved city. I saw them intimidating the youth and forcing them to join MQM patronage-based mafia. I saw their leader morphing from Altaf bhai to qaid-e-tehreek (maybe qaid-e-tafreeq) to peer sahib.
I used to live on a street in a middle class area of Karachi where there were people form all ethnicities (though most of them Urdu speaking). The people who used to annoy the MQM-types the most were mohajirs who would not endorse their brand of fanaticism. They would hate us more than they would hate any ethnicity or political party. We spoke out on occasion but could not be too vocal about it because there was a serious possibility of bodily harm to those who questioned them (more so to their families). I think having a sibling in the military kept us out trouble.
Few outside people realize that the media in Karachi (and most national media outlets have roots in Karachi) are extremely intimidated by MQM. For example, Jang group learnt their lesson in the early nineties and now avoid confrontation. Now it is almost funny to see MQM’s press releases prominently and verbatim printed in Karachi papers. Other political parties can only dream of such deference.
So when I saw Imran challenging the fascists of nine-zero, I could only think of two words.

Our Nation is thankless. Today just see the progress made by Pakistan in Economy and Social uplift. Quality of life has improved. FDI increased. Landscape of Pakistan has changed. Excellent Sign postings along road side, latest cars, telecom biz opportunities, Constuction biz, Dams construction ++ all this is indicator of progress made and has a marked difference from pakistan of 1999. Any body who will work hard will become prosperous day by day. Opportunities are provided and not supplied in your laps. for making money one has to move arround for its search n livelihood. nobody to give u in ur accounts. Today no good pakistani should have concern of president’s uniform. It is concern to stupid politicians. Look at overall Pakistan and not foriegn funded militancy. Imran Khan is cruel and autocratic from his cricket days. He was a rich playboy for several years due to ill gotten money with his family perhaps due to concessions obtained during Ayub Khan the ex-president and Pashtun. Imran Khan met Jamima Gold Smith in a very expensive night club the very first time. He is un-trust worthy and incapable of running state affairs.
General Musharraf is a sincere leader who elevated all sectors of our society and our economy in last 8 years.We are thankful for his untiring efforts for the country. We as nation must ensure that only sober people are elected who wants to continue the same policies and local city governments system.
MQM though started in reaction to attrocities and cruelties metted out to Karachi and Hyderabad citizens from Ayub Khan first election days then to Zulifiqar Bhutto who started ethenic divide and closed all doors of employment for Mohajirs, then to 2 term governments each from Benazeer and Nawaz Shareef who literaly looted this country to the extent to make it bankrupt, however MQM now seems mature and understand how to contribute to economy and prosperity of this country.
How can Pakistanees be fool enough to trust Nawaz and Benazeer despite their rampant corruption in the past. ZAB/Banazeer was/is top enemey of this country, she would happily sell nation in daylight for the benefit of western powers if they help her to stay in power, she is spineless and a curse for our nation.
