It seems that in a ban has been imposed on the airing of Geo News’ program ‘Meray Mutabiq’ by Dr. Shahid Masood from Dubai. According to Geo.tv sources, high government officials from Pakistan have exerted pressure on the Dubai government to block the show from being telecast from Dubai
This show along with Geo.tv has previously suffered the same fate of outright censorship in Pakistan during the 2007 martial law by Pervaiz Musharraf it was then that Pervaiz Musharraf actually approached the Dubai government too and had the entire channel taken off-air for a period of over 77 days. In those days strict local government restrictions prevented broadcast signal from Pakistan and all TV channels resorted to rebroadcasting to the satellite feed from Dubai, since the 2007 tussle with Geo and its subsequent negotiations with electronic media outlets, Geo then moved most of its operations back into Pakistan leaving aside two show Meray Mutabiq and Nadia Khan show still to be aired from Dubai alone.
It seems the President of Pakistan now in the form of Mr Asif Ali Zardari has yet again successfully requested the Dubai government to force this current affairs program off-air. There can be little doubt as to the reason why Dr. Shahid Masood may have suffered this fate this time around, as I’m sure he may have been touching on some sensitive topics which more-or-less will most likely have to do with the NRO and Mr. Asif Ali Zardari being the top celebrity featured on that dis-honest list.
Many a times I have criticized many of our current affairs news casters of sensationalization but regardless of which line they may actually support, I think this censorship is yet again a definite target on freedom of expression and I vehemently oppose it

As far as life threats to Dr Shahid Masood are concerned I think he should return to Pakistan and resume his programme from here. There are journalists in Pakistan who have bravely faced life threats. My only question, however, is that why recently Dr Masood and Shaheen Sehbai went to meet Asif Zardari as reported by Hamid Mir. Don't compare BB and Zardari. BB was educated and free from financial corruptions, on the other hand zardari is a historical pimp, raised and bred as a thug.
So please do not compare BB and Zardari.
BB's only mistake was that she thought she was being modest in respecting the *well*(rather bad) wishes of her mom, who eventually lost her brain by the trauma of seeing her beautiful daughter abused by a thug.
Mumtaz Bhutto lost her mind eventually when see she observed the injustice that she had done to her daughter by marrying her to a thug just because the thug was a SHIA.

He intentionally has aimed his comment towards the Peaceful Pashtun Community living in Sindh that "QUOTE" "Pashtuns are heavily Armed to the teeth" "UNQUOTE". He is playing with the fire.

This is in reference to the news analysis "How to clean up the bloody mess-2" by Shaheen Sehbai (November 23). All of a sudden we have made the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) an honourable institution and many of us would like to see it as a powerful body once again, forgetting the news stories which we ran a few years ago about it involving illegal detention, political victimisation and controversial cases. Now some of us are once again expressing the desire that the army should clean up the mess.
In the last one year due to the efforts of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), around Rs20 billion were recovered. Audit reports of some institutions revealed irregularities worth billions of rupees, and we should keep in mind that politicians were not involved directly, although some of them might have received their 'commissions'. I expected that a respected journalist like Shaheen Sehbai would ask parliament, not the army chief, to clean up the mess. Let the army chief tackle security issues and address the threat of terrorism. Also, one should remember that Gen Kayani was part of General Musharraf's team and headed the ISI which must have played an important role in finalising the NRO deal.
