Protocol That Kills

A few days back the President of Pakistan Pervaiz Musharraf graced our city to inaugurate the Expo Pakistan. Naturally a visit by him means all hell breaks loose, road blocks are placed around town resulting in massive traffic jams without even a second thought. The only and primary concern is to protect the life of the President and allow him to have a peaceful unhindered drive around town. The citizens can go to hell burning expenive fuel which continues to remain high despite fall in international prices, the economy can take a loss with so much wasted time, who cares as long as the President can sleep peacefully in bed.

On the day His Royal Highness graced our town an unfortunate 23 year old girl developed a case of appendicitis and was being rushed to JPMC in an ambulance, due to the inconsiderate blockage to protect Pervaiz Musharraf the entire Shahrae Fasial had a massive traffic jam and sadly the ambulance got stuck in the traffic jam, never to reach the hospital in time and the girl passed away due to a ruptured appendix.

Surprisignly this is not the first instance as reported by Dawn but similar instances were reported on Jan 6th and 7th where a few other unfortunate people were pronounced dead at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, the doctors claimed that their lives could have been saved had there not been a traffic jam and maybe they could have reached the hosptial in timer.

I personally feel something needs to be done to create an awareness for this problem, the city of Karachi can suffer for time and money when a VVIP is in town but if it means at the loss of on innocent life, it is pushing the limits.

Pakistan Googled by a Texan

Bush Googly

George W. Bush’s two-day trip to Pakistan can now sadly be looked back upon more as a state sponsored relaxation trip for the President after his hectic schedule in India. Little do the Pakistanis have anything to show for this visit by the most powerful dictator of the world. In 2000, we were literally on our knees begging for Clinton to stop by to say Hi, but in contrast, in 2006, when the US President willfully offers to come, we fail miserably to perform.

It was no secret that Pakistan was unlikely to get any crumbs from the nuclear grants when India worked hard to create a mutual understanding. Delhi has been after Washington for a long time and Pakistan can’t expect to get a deal just for the heck of being a critical neighbour with India. For Pakistan, the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) should have been the hot deal to be inked during the two-day trip. The BIT has been in the works for a good time, but sadly, Islamabad was caught napping till the nth hour and any last minute efforts only left objections making it unreasonable to be finalized in March.

When dealing with the most powerful country of the world it should not be difficult for us to come up with alternative memoranda of understanding (MOUs) to cover up and potentially replace the BIT. Other MOUs could then have served a face-saving for the embarrassed government and it would have been a benefit for Pakistan even at a microscopic level. Instead, the two days were spent playing cricket and munching dinners at state expense.

The Texan did make news (the only news to make headlines around the world), not on a political level but instead while playing cricket – he was hit by a bouncer and spun a googly in the process. It goes to say what a waste of time it is, trying to teach a baseball fan to hold the oddly shaped cricket bat let alone trying to teach him to bowl over-arm without the sling shot pitching style he’s more used to.

Making matters worse, Mushy and his cronies went all out to cordon Islamabad off from the world. The airport and all incoming roads were effectively closed for all making it more like a prison and, simultaneously, all sorts of political activity was addressed by issuing house arrests for the loudest of all critics namely Qazi and Imran Khan. I applaud Imran Khan to have taken the limelight from the visit with some very interesting TV interviews he gave leading to the trip. Qazi Saheb, what can I say?

Bottom line – Musharraf and his team have terribly mismanaged this trip, only to be remembered for the wrong’un delivery that Bush faced during his practice session at the nets.

Cheers

Cheers Mr President

To further promote the Pak-China friendship our very own dictator General Pervaiz Musharraf could not refuse to share a casual glass of wine with the Chinese counterpart.

Cheers

Welcome 2006

A good 365 days before we were celebrating the incoming year of 2005, sadly how quickly has it passed we stand to again wonder. A new year confronts us with renewed cross-my-heart-to-do promises. But I wonder if another 365 days later we would still be caught napping when 2007 comes knocking on our door. Lets do a little analysis of the world around us in 2005.

The US Reign of Supremacy

I can confidently say that the year of 2005 was predominantly ruled by the Dictator George Bush – who continues to use his peanut-sized IQ to try and dominate the world. Saddam Hussain was overthrown out of Iraq for the inhuman torture he did to his own folks but surprisingly the US Army conducts similar torture cells in all its occupied territories Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay. I wonder who gets to decides which party is the actual terrorist, as I presently see an anomaly in the naming system.

We saw that lowest point of Bush’s reign of power when he termed the US Constitution as ‘It’s just a god damned piece of paper’, if I were an American citizen I would be worried when my own President considers the very constitution by which he was sworn into office as toilet paper. Would I be worried, NO – Heck I would be pissing in my pants wondering what other shit has he done in his 5 years in office. Some amazing men have ruled the United States I am sure this President can be considered more of a disgrace to the office, a name to shovel under the carpet once he passes through, hopefully never to be discussed again.

Disasters of 2005

The world saw a two major disasters, in the form of a massive hurricane and devastating Earthquake, we lost thousands of innocent lives but at the same time it can be looked back as a high moment for 2005 when millions of well-wishers pitched in selflessly to help these victims.

Pakistan in 2005

This 2005 was nothing different for Pakistan politics. Gen Pervaiz (Pussy) Musharraf and his supreme army generals continue to get richer and reign supreme over the poor. Pussy Mushy has gotten himself a life-extension to remain in office till 2007, simply put another few years to get even more richer at the cost of our own country. Army is busy land grabbing to become the biggest real estate mafia of our country. His present mission is the Kalabagh Dam, Pussy Musharraf is dead set in hopefully solving this age old problem and time will only tell if he is actually sincere or could this be just a distractor or diversion tactic while he does some under hand deal in the background? Time will only reveal.

Karachi in 2005

Karachi saw an important local body elections in 2005 which was a complete MQM victory, Mustafa Kamal has gotten himself the Nazim seat and we can all keep our fingers crossed, if MQM have any good plans for our city? During the Earthquake crisis Karachi took the initiative lead by Fakhr-e-Alam to organize one of the biggest relief drives of the city, hats off to Karachi in stepping forward at such a crisis

Lets keep our fingers crossed as we enter 2006, and pray that we can indeed have a better year then this past 2005.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Pakistan – Israel Talks

Pakistan-Israel Talks

The latest hot issue that has gripped Pakistanis and also the Muslim world is a sudden show of softness by Pakistan towards the Israeli nation culminating into a round of high level talks this past week in Turkey. A step taken by our unconstitutional-military-coop-no-shit-ruler President Pervaiz Musharraf seems to be quite revolutionary and this move can be labelled more so as a paradigm shift from the historical no-acknowledge-no-talk mentality for Israel that has been adopted by the Muslim world.

I am worried as this tactical move smells of some serious arm wrestling and ball-busting pressure by the US agencies in an attempt to arrange such an unprecedented meeting of two major giants. For Pakistan, I feel it in a way projects this country to the top of all Muslim countries, a stature which it lost over the past 30 years to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The question still remains to be seen, if this move will actually soften other muslim nations towards Israel. Worldwide there is tremendous emotional attachment towards the Palestinians in this ongoing struggle of land, will it have any affect on peoples emotions, will it actually result in softened heart, time will only tell, this I may agree Musharraf has played his ‘own’ cards perfectly ‘to save his own ass’ but is it actually the right move for the overall muslim effort, maybe the only good thing to come out of it could be more positive projection for Pakistan, but what about the emotions and feelings of millions of Muslims?

I, being quite outspoken of various political issues do always try to keep an open frame of mind so for this reason I would like to open this blog for discussion on this sensitive Pakistan-Israel topic. Do tell me how you feel about this issue be honest and try to support your arguments for all to see. All I ask is for you to be very careful when addressing religious issues and choose your words carefully trying to avoid insulting comments or remarks

Army the biggest Real Estate Mafia

Apart from controlling the budget of our country the Army has a tremendous control over the freely available real estate of our country. Lets take a glancing look at the statistics, the Army has 22,500 acres of land sanctioned to its own profitable use while the Navy has 712 acres and the Air Force has a measly 536 acres. First of all ‘What has the Army done to deserve such a bulk share?’ Secondly we Pakistanis know how these army officers have slowly climbed up the social scale to start driving Mercs and Beamers in town, one often does have to wonder with a normal pay-scale how can serving in the Army be so profitable.

The scam is simple – they ‘earn’ a few pieces of land ‘for their faithful service for our country’ and have then earned the right to rip us dry, the well located plots are sanctioned to them at a dirt cheap controlled price and soon they make a handsome proffit mostly entering into the millions more often a 100 times proffit for a quick turnaround.

Jahil Online

I am sure you all must know of our famous MNA cum TV personality Dr. Aamir Liaqat Hussain. For the past few months rumors have been circulating that he is a fake doctor finally I have evidence. In a detailed investigation conducted by a local newspaper ‘Ummat‘ and recently published in South Asia Tribune, some really interesting fact have indeed come forth surely worth a NAB ‘chappa’.

Dr. Aamir appears to be one of the biggest local scams of Pakistan. For the past couple years he has been the host of ‘Aalim Online‘ on Geo TV where he brings together Islamic Scholars to shed light on the religion of Islam. I have always disliked watching the show as it always appeared as a scam, a snazzy looking Dr. Aamir preaching Islam some how irritated me, but that’s just me, I have for sometime labeled his show as Jahil Online. It now appears to be entirely true. Dr. Aamir had been preaching Islam with such authority that it had the nation fooled for years including our General who has appointed him as a Minister of Religious Affairs (probably in a deal with MQM)

He has graduated from ‘Trinity College and University‘ with a Bachelors of Arts in Islamic Studies (conferred on March 17, 1995). The next degree that he allegedly pursued was a Masters of Arts in Islamic Studies (conferred on March 15, 2002) and amazingly 20 days later was awarded a doctorate, Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Studies (conferred on April 5, 2002). All these degrees were awarded by Trinity College based out of Spain. The going rate for these ‘degrees by mail’ as published on the Trinity College website (link) is

Bachelors = $ 212
Masters = $ 332
Doctorate= $ 500
Or a one time deal all three degrees for a bumper price of $ 850

Trinity College on its webpage claims the following slogans “providing degrees based on your previous life” and the best slogan “No Residency or Attendance is required in Spain Everything by Mail

Dr. (Fake) Aamir Liaquat Hussain contested the National Assembly elections based on these degrees and successfully won, he stands to be disqualified for providing fake degrees to support his candidacy (which as you all recall was strictly limited to graduates). The Higher Education Commission Pakistan has also declare in a letter that Trinity College is not a authorized degree awarding university. How can it be since its just one of those online stores that awards these degrees. Check these pictures out as they sure are incriminating evidence.

Update 13th March: In a Google search of our fake Aalim I came across this interview from Daily Times

Daily Times: What are your predictions about the Pakistani politics?

Aamir Liaqat:I am really disappointed with the Pakistani politics. The biggest despondency is the involvement of Maulvis in the mainstream politics, who are raising local issues at national levels. I am not hopeful with the national politics. The politicians of my country fight only for their own interests. I request General Musharraf to give me a chartered plane, and I would take all the politicians to Iraq. Then I would ask all those who claim to be great Muslims to come out and fight against the anti-Islam forces. If I could not take the airplane to Iraq, then I will destroy it in the sea. I would sacrifice my own life for this noble cause.

I am foreseeing a bloody revolution. Sorry to say, the democracy would bring nothing better in this country. Pakistan needs a bloody revolution. A person is required here, who will eliminate all the politicians once for all, and then intelligent and young people of Pakistan will come forward to lead the nation. I fear that in revolution the geographical situation might also change.

Army Covering up Rape in Balochistan

Presently there is a massive Hush-Up operation underway by our most honourable Pakistan Army – black-out exists on all local media outlets to prohibit them to report the rape of a cerain Dr. Sadia.

The Army has also prohibited them from naming the primary accused rapist who is a serving Captain in the Pak Army known as Captain Ammad. The estalishment has also forced the lady doctor to deny all reports and she has failed to identify the culprits. Read more on the SA Tribune website which has done three extensive reports on this issue links are as follows

Dictator Musharraf in for the Long Haul

Well it ain’t news no more and the world knows it well by now Musharraf plans to rough it out longer then his promise and our expectations, he conveniently amends the constitution and justifies it that Pakistan “needs” him to stay longer. The Pharaoh also felt the “need” to stay longer but someone (The Almighty) just would not have it and the tables were overturned. The general perception is that he now has a hunger for the power and feels that without him the world/Pakistan will collapse the very next day, what a dilemma I am sure all past dictators and rulers, not only in Pakistan, but throughout the world have usually left behind a devastated country with a crippled infrastructure, these dictatorships have during their term showed a bed of roses but later it was more a bed of nails than being roses, I doubt Pakistan or Musharraf is the odd man out in this historical equation “ though I wish otherwise for the sake of my beloved “Land of the Pure”

Our ruler talks about better economy well it might be the case upfront but the economic indicators show a low GDP of 4% while inflation is at a horrendous 9% and only $400 million foreign investment in the last half year. How is the economy buoyant and how are the stocks at an all time high, is a question that remains unanswered, artificial buoyancy usually will result in catastrophic disasters.

SA Tribune Still blocked

If you all recall that a few months ago the South Asia Tribune website was blocked by the Pakistani Government for carrying anti-establishment articles criticizing Musharraf, well the site still remain blocked thought out Pakistan – though it can be accessed via anonymous proxy server

SA Tribune is run out of Washignton DC by the former The News Editor who was forced to quit due to army Pressure in 2002, he now runs this journal which has recorded 44 million hits in its career.

The recent artile I cam across was of the NAB chief harassing Farooq Jangda to exhort 53 Million for Shehzad Ali Khan – who has deep contacts within the army.

The mighty rule – but the mighty also fall very heavily in the end

Musharraf bribes PPP with Zardari’s release

It ain’t a mystery no more, Musharraf is trying to hold his presidential seat by the ends of the coat tails for his dear life. Long past are the days where he talked about justice and democracy, he now is preoccupied with the curse – which many leaders of Pakistan have been unfortunate to have encoutered “THE CURSE OF THE CURSI (SEAT)”

General/President Musharraf has now sold out all his beliefs by simply releasing Zardari in an attempt to draw the PPP onto the negotiating table, they surely will come but mind you people we have another deal in the making which will be the final nail in the coffin “The ultimate return of BB” She then will haunt us with her croaky shrill and classy lotta politics. Rumors have it that PPP would refuse to entertain the Army with one simple answer – release Zardari then talk to us. Now to help Musharraf PPP will now demand the return of BB. The Sharif’s must be boiling out there in the Saudi desert wishing they had a sweet deal too.

Cowasjee retaliates to Musharraf

Ardershir Cowasjee in his article in DAWN on Sunday the 19th says

“Some bright spark has calculated that 96 per cent of the 160- odd million citizens of this country feel so, and the general has duly accepted the figure. Question : after his four-day visit to Karachi last week to inaugurate Ideas 2004 (arms for peace indeed!) does he know that the figure of 96 has perhaps been somewhat reduced?”

Precisley what i wanted to say Musharraf has to find out which 96% of the Pakistani population believes he NEEDS to stay in power

Save the Whale Campaign (Save Musharraf)

Watch for todays headlines – Daily Times was loaded with news reports that Musharraf should remain in the driving seat – well welcome to the new turn of affairs – Economy takes a back seat and Save the Whale “Save Musharraf” campaign comes to the front.

Wake up people until december you are going to be bombarded with evidence upon evidence that Musharraf must say – according to the man himself “I have the pulse of the Nation” and according to that wierd pulse 96% want him in power – Yikes which artery does he have Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.

The pulse of Pakistan says –
1 – dont make a mess of the traffic by test drivign those Merc’s
2 – dont beleve that you are the saviour – we soundly believe in Allah
3 – dont assign retired generals to take over ministeries – Pakistan is not a post retirement job for army personnel
4 – GET OFF THAT BUTT (Seat)

— until next time

President Musharraf and Karachi

Mind you Karachiites – whenever President Musharraf is in Karachi you are
bound to be cursing out loud and not simply under your breath. The
establishment is so scared that they block traffic both ways, my advice to
management is that it shall always be Allah’s will, you can’t do anything to
prevent it. You might deter the small crooks but the big fish will find a
way, and my gut felling is that it will be from an insider.

Until then Karachi can wait for his Royal Highness to attend his meetings, its cheaper to fly everyone to Islamabad then have Musharraf drop into our
city

Mushy stuck forever

The latest –

Shaukat Aziz and Sh Rashid Ahmed – puppets of the present govt said today that our dear 5-year old “Dick”tator Prez Musharraf does not have to step down from power and they hoped that he would accept to retaining both the Military and Prez post, as no constitutional restrcitions exists.

YIKES – what is the world heading towards are we in the process of another 10-yr like ZIA rule that destroyed all sanity of Democracy – i think we are.

Mushy believes that once he goes all hell will break loose – MAYBE as then all those power hungry so called democrats the MNAs and MPAs will try to get the throne –

When musharraf came he wanted to EMPOWER the people – all he did was empower himself and his pockets –

GOD HELP US ALL
