Ultimate Computer Station or High-tech Dental Chair

pce-workstation_12.jpgBeing a dentist by profession it is generally a habit to be on the look out for dental issues being blogged around the world. This recent image of the Ultimate Computer Station caught my eye while browsing through Gizmodo which most definitely remains the center of all upcoming geek toys.

PCE the creators of this computer station seem to have incorporated a dental chair look-alike functionality of a dental chair for the workstation. Customization seems to be off-the-charts to an extent it even has wheels to even spare you the heartache of going to the refrigerator for food on foot leaving your keyboard. The better deign a chair that will pull the weight as the computer couch potato is going to get bloated real quickly sitting and eating on this chair all day, to an extent one might even be able to take a nap on the job.

Cricket Crazy Nation

I posted this yesterday on Cricket Bloggers of Pakistan but simply love this commercial which was produced by Nike (India) probably a tribute to the people of the cricket crazy sub-continent area. Both India and Pakistan have been knocked out of the world cup but the passion must definitely live of wounds will heal and new teams will form to outlive the shattered dreams of the world cup 2007. The only thing that will not heal is the millions spent on TV advertisement through out the subcontinent. This is a MUST WATCH ! video for all cricket lovers [PS – I love the comment ‘oye Balcony’ – simply ingenious]

Stop the Political Clash of Civilizations

If you are like one of the millions of people who feel that the leaders of the world should stop running around in circles and start working to finally solving the Middle East Crisis, if you are one of those pro-peace activist, then you should definitely join hands with Avaaz.org. Avaaz is the voice of hundreds and thousands of people like yourself who want the leaders to listen for once, ask them to stop their bickering and start the healing process. There have been many discussions as to what may be happening for the past six years where we sadly continue to see a degrading global peace, kicking off with 9/11 heading towards Guantanamo and then stepping into Iraq and presently full geared towards a campaign in Iran. It may simply be a clash of civilizations, but the question that must be asked, is why has this political crisis been camouflaged into a religious battle it has literally been transformed into a battle between the East and the West or in other words Muslims vs Everyone else. I assure you the problem is far from religion, society or culture but simply politics. It is simply the political infrastructure exploiting a local religious sentiment for its own interests.

The world may deny all they want but there is no doubt this political battle took the drab of religion since the start of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which can be seen as the root cause of all issues between Islam & the West. It’s time to step up and take the initiative and tell them to stop, rethink and come to a peaceful solution. If we want to save the world from self immolation, this conflict and all the other conflicts must end.

Watch this video which quite simply shows that people are not bad, but it is how the powers of the world project us that make us evil in the events

Then head on over to Avaaz.org to sign the petition, and join the thousands who believe in a peaceful settlement for the Middle East Crisis, then later also join the effort to promote the cause, as more the people joining hands the more likely will the the chance that the global leaders might hear of this effort

Online freedom of Speech – Global Voices

Sami Ben Gharbia the recently appointed Advocacy Director of Global Voices has done a very extensive review of the censorship situation in Pakistan which also includes a very interesting interview with Omer Alvie discussing the issue in quite extensive detail. Link: Pakistan: Online freedom of speech as collateral damage?

Do also have a look at the presentation I gave on the topic ‘Silencing the Pakistani Blogs‘ practically one year back in Manila on the occasion of the three day meeting of Free Expression in Asian Cyberspace, Sami was kind enough to create a flash video out of my entire PowerPoint presentation (slides, audio).

Web 2.0 Phenomenon Explained

Quite a number of people ask what exactly is Web 2.0, many definitions exist but no definition can adequately describe this phenomenon as this video tries to do in a brief 4:31 minutes.

I assure you, you will come out having understood the entire concept and still yet not be able to write a proper definition for the Web 2.0 phenomenon. Do tell me how you liked it.

Time: Person of the Year – YOU

Time: Person of the Year - You

TIME Magazine has just named their Person of the Year and the winner is You. It seems that you, me & us control the information age which has resulted in a paradigm shift in the world as we know it. By You they give the award to anyone involved in user generated content – everything ranging from web 2.0, social media, blogging, video sharing etc etc etc. In actual sense with respect to blogging – the silent readers, the vocal commenters and all the bloggers equally share this award, as no one would have made it without the active participation from each individual person of this precious link.

It is undoubtedly surprising change to have moved away from the tradition of nominating an individual person and have taken the step of nominating the entire industry associated with the social networking hype. I think its a great award for us all as we have involved in the formation of a paradigm shift in the flow of information showing that common people like you and I can create change.

At the same time Problogger points out that this could very well be a Linkbaiting strategy (planned or unplanned) as it will create massive inbound links for TIME as the as the news spreads ensuring a rise in search engine ranking. With the announcement of the Person of the Year Time Magazine has already attracted over 17,000 incoming links jumping the average of 40 links per day to a whopping 160 in just one day (Technorati Chart) and it will continue to rise as the blogging community takes a bow for a job well done. Criticisms aside TIME defends its decision to honor the entire community of Citizen Media Journalists by stating

Bomb Pakistan into the Stone Age, or else….

Bush n Mush press Conf

A threat made by Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage immediately after 9/11 threatening Pakistan to Be prepared to be bombed. Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age. It was revealed after five years during an interview for CBS 60 minutes (video) with Pervaiz Musharraf expected to be aired on Sunday.

Be prepared to be bombed.
Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age

Pakistanis are not surprised to hear that we were unwillingly pushed into this partnership on the War on Terror, we knew the mighty United States would have easily trampled all over us and the, then emotionally charged American nation would have cared less to our existence as they did for Afghanistan and Iraq. But when the same government issues statements like “we will order troops to enter Pakistan to catch Osama Bin Laden without the authorization of Pakistani Government” are made again five years later in 2006, one has then to wonder when will this crazed maniac take a stop think ad maybe take a time-out? Osama and the word Al-Qaeda are simply used more as a rubber stamp to force an innocent American nation to authorize invasions, or god forbid they then can be labelled as Un-American.

Bush when questioned today by the White House Press Corp on Armitage’s comment in 2001, the President of the United States choose to play dumb yet again offering a lame excuse “I just read it in the newspapers”. To avoid an embarrassing rebuttal and a confrontation, Musharraf ducked the question, but quite simply lacked the finesse as shown by his US counterpart, he responded by hiding behind a the excuse of a non-disclosure statement with his book publisher, his autobiography expected to hit the shelf in a few days.

The President of Pakistan barely missed a beat in inserting a plug for his book even during his official duties, I sincerely hope that the People of Pakistan see some of the royalty being submitted into our national exchequer as he is undoubtedly using his official capacity to publicize his personal book. Its common to see many past-Presidents and past-Prime Ministers writing their autobiography but for a serving President, this must be a first [?].

During the press conference Musharraf may have earned a few loyalty points by ducking the all important question which could indeed contribute to an extension of his Military regime beyond 2007, which has been under threat from all quarters.

Whatever the sentiments brewing up back home in Pakistan it appears as if the overall US media has portrayed this official Pakistan visit in favourable terms, lets hope they remain as such.

Post 9/11 Blues

Post 9/11 Blues

Riz MC has conjured up this hilarious music video. Due to its controversial content the artist claims that its not being allowed to be aired on the US channels? Is that so? Then lets make sure everyone hears about it through the power of the Internet. Watch the video and sing along its funny and very catchy. Thumbs up!

“Everybody do the post 9/11 dance
Look scared and shake ya ass while the bombs go blast
Everybody shake your post 9/11 thong
So the dossier was wrong Jack some oil drop a bomb
Sing a song sing a-long
Bush and Blair in a tree K-I-L-L-I-N-G
Shave your beard if youre brown and you best salute the crown
Or theyll do you like Brazillians and shoot your ass down”

Galloway Belts the Bias Media on Israel

Mel Gibson & The Anti-Semitic truth

To Jew or Not to Jew

This is a little old news but Mel Gibson was arrested a week back on 27th July for DUI going 87 mph in a 45 mph zone, and during his confrontation with the arresting officers started acting nuts and saying ridiculously offensive things:

Once inside the car, a source directly connected with the case says Gibson began banging himself against the seat. The report says Gibson told the deputy, “You mother f****r. I’m going to f*** you.” The report also says “Gibson almost continually threatened me saying he ‘owns Malibu’ and will spend all of his money to ‘get even’ with me.” The report says Gibson then launched into a barrage of anti-Semitic statements: “F*****g Jews… The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” Gibson then asked the deputy, “Are you a Jew?” The deputy became alarmed as Gibson’s tirade escalated, and called ahead for a sergeant to meet them when they arrived at the station. When they arrived, a sergeant began videotaping Gibson, who noticed the camera and then said, “What the f*** do you think you’re doing?” A law enforcement source says Gibson then noticed another female sergeant and yelled, “What do you think you’re looking at, sugar tits?”

And the very next day he issued a statement apologizing for his behavior, saying:

“After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior. They have always been there for me in my community and indeed probably saved me from myself. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse. I apologize for any behavior unbecoming of me in my inebriated state and have already taken necessary steps to ensure my return to health.”

It is often said that alcohol brings the person to confess the truth, the specific statement is very interesting and I wish to highlight it yet again The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Whoa! finally someone did have the nerve to confess, we have been screaming our balls of trying to tell the world of this fact, but now its a delight to see Hollywood also jump into the fray.

Sadly Mr. Gibson chickened out the very next day, fearing an Anti Semitic assault which could threaten his career in Hollywood. But nevertheless its literally an RBI for everyone here (RBI is a baseball term Runs Batted In) – WTG Gibson – You Ma Man !!!!

America You Decide: Justice or Genocide?

Its amazing how the United States continues to stand by quietly to watch the genocide in Lebanon, they have continued to claim to be unable to intervene and stop this war, which were seen a number of statements made by the White House only “requesting” the Israeli army to take care in attacking Lebanon (truly BS) but they never issued a call to stop this mass genocide.

For every innocent life lost in this war I US and Israel equally responsible, Israel for this blatant act of war which have been sponsored by American tax dollars to purchase the advanced weaponry for the Israeli Army to humans with absolute no compassion. I call for an end to this one sided war and also urge the US to stop playing games and strictly force the Israelis to stop this genocide of Lebanese.

I would like to share an interesting 26 second video which is worth watching or check out the website JusticeOrGenocide.com
