Nawaz Sharif Convicted for 5 years

Congratulations Pakistan

It’s been a long hard struggle which truly started with MQM / Altaf Hussain in 2013 and we were handed the Panama papers in 2015 and this movement finally culminated today with the conviction of Nawaz Sharif

Many critics will find it hard to accept that it has been Imran Khan’s commitment and perseverance which has finally led us to this moment of conviction for Nawaz Sharif – IK had promised us a Naya Pakistan and the struggle to unseat these behemoths has not come easy, could you have imagined all this to happen back in 2013 – mashallah Imran Khan delivered on many fronts – true genuine opposition actually strengthens democracy — PTI fought the battle on the streets, but at same time stood back at some extremely critical junctions to allow judiciary to take over and cast the final decision – Justice in our society must remains Supreme

PM House releases a Fake Image to Coverup the Solar Deal

So the Solar Panel deal (which I mentioned yesterday) makes it to Dawn. Imagine the desperation to cover-up the deal that the PM office released another picture, instead of the signing ceremony of the Solar deal and captioned it as such, in a way trying to showcase it as a project sanctioned by the Norwegian Govt – they showed Nawaz Sharif sitting with the Prime Minster of Norway

Funny part is that this picture has NOTHING to do with the 150MW Solar panel deal – this is a picture from a side discussion from the Education summit – How so? the lady sitting next to PM of Norway is Laila Bokhari who is State Secretary on Women and Education to the Norwegian Government

The 150MW build-own-operate solar deal is a perfect project laden with abundant cuts and commissions – a higher solar energy tariff means we’re all gonna pay through our nose for many many years to come. Scatec Solar, with its local counterpart Nizam Energy (and possibly many others in the pipeline) will make millions times over – its easy for Sharif to sign expensive business deals and transfer the burden back to the Pakistani taxpayer’s – utterly unintelligent economic solutions for Pakistan

Solar energy for all what it may be worth to the environment is still a First World High-risk energy generation investment, not geared up for an economically struggling third world.

Credit to the source from Norway, helping expose this Sharif fiasco

PM Sharif actually in Norway for a Mega Solar Deal

Prime Minister is headed to Norway for an education conference – so important is the education conference that dignitaries from Rawanda, Haiti and Nigeria are attending and the conference is being inaugurated by UN SG Ban Ki Moon and also by Malala – I guess PM is there to applaud the efforts of Malala from the audience, if he’s not there for anything else

The 40+ member delegation which has accompanied the PM shall loiter around and not even bother interacting with any Pakistanis living in Norway

But what the author rightly ask – what’s the “REAL REASON” of the visit – sources say a mega $$$$ solar project deal is on the table – a local sweet talking front company in Islamabad which barely has license to install 10MW project is to bang this lucky draw with a Norwegian company to be one of the Norwegian companies biggest project of their life – funding will be allegedly claimed to be from some ADB source, but reality at the moment is that it’s gonna come squarely out of our (Pakistanis) pockets

Copy Cat League FLIPS OVER to agree to have Peace Talks with TTP

Imran Khan has been a strong proponent of having peace talks with the Talibans for over 8 years, to an extent that these politicans accused him of being a Taliban Sympathizer and branded him as Taliban Khan. Now it seems everyone PPP, ANP & more recently Nawaz Sharif has accepted the fact that there must be some Peace Talks with the Talibans to help solve this terrorism issue out. Might it be Khan’s turn and say, I told you so, its sad that these spineless politicians (PML, PPP, JUI, ANP & MQM) appeased the Americans for five years allowing them to destroy and ravage Pakistan but now as the local elections are looming around the corner the same politicians have flipped over to strategically position themselves as peace brokers only so that they can fool people to vote for them. Shame on these two timing politicians

SHARIF SWINGS: From “Go Zardari Go” to “Stay Zardari Stay”

Not too long ago PML-N and Sharif’s were chest thumping a “Go Zardari Go” slogan asking Zardari to quit the Presidency – But suddenly Nawaz Sharif now wants Zardari to STAY. The Muk Mukka between the two is slowly getting exposed in front of the entire nation.

Pakistan needs great leaders like Imran Khan (official) who have principles and stand by it, not leaders who swing according to the changing seasons and this video is a prime example of Sharif’s changing their positions to suit their goal

PML-N’s financial wizardry – Sayem Ali

PML-N's WizardrySayem Ali digs into PML-N’s chest thumping rant “most experienced economics team” Sayem has obliged us with a good a holistic factual comparison of the economic performance of PML in the two stints they have been in power – to show that it is dismal even racked against the economic tenures of Zia, Musharraf, BB’s two tenures

“The SBP Handbook of Statistics 2010 shows that the Nawaz Sharif government’s economic performance was the worst amongst all civilian or military government in Pakistan’s.

Average growth during Nawaz Sharifs two stints in power was only 4.1%, which is significantly lower than Ziaul Haq (5.9%), Musharraf (5.1%) and even lower than Benazir Bhutto’s two stints in power (5%)

PMLN performance was not only bad but it also deteriorated during Nawaz Sharifs second stint in power during February 1997 to October 1999. The economy expanded at only 3.1 percent during this time, which is the lowest pace of growth for any government on record.

To give you perspective it is exactly as bad as the performance of the current PPP led government, with average growth of 3.1 percent between FY09 to FY13. So while the PML-N rightly criticises the dismal performance of President Zardari’s five years in power, it compares its own equally woeful performance with the Asian Tigers?

.. With by far the worst performance of any civilian or military government, the ‘experience’ of the PML-N’s financial wizards is exactly the reason why Nawaz Sharif should replace them immediately”

Nawaz Sharif’s Bushonomics for Pakistan

Nawaz SharifFollowing up on Nawaz Sharif’s 10% Disaster Economics – Sayem Ali explains how Nawaz Sharif’s economic plan so closely resembled G Bush vision which lead to the world financial crisis in the US history after WW II

“I received some interesting responses to my previous article titled, ‘Nawaz’s 3E formula’. Dr Abbasi in his letter to the editor defended Nawaz Sharif’s 3Es policy of massive tax cuts to big business and the top 10 percent income earners. According to Dr Abbasi, similar tax cuts to big business encouraged higher investment spending and created more jobs in Europe and the US. Hence, Dr Abbasi suggests Nawaz Sharif’s 10-percent tax formula will work in Pakistan. I strongly disagree.

The tax cuts implemented by George Bush for big business and wealthy taxpayers led to the worst financial crisis in the US since World War II and caused record unemployment and sharp rise in poverty. Corporate tax rate was slashed from as high as 39.6 percent down to 15 percent and hefty tax breaks were doled out to wealthy individuals. These tax cuts were supposed to encourage higher spending by big banks, oil companies and multinationals for new job creation. Instead, big business and wealthy taxpayers used the money to bet on the stock markets and real estate, leading to a flush of liquidity in speculative investments. Instead of investing in the real economy and creating jobs, the money from the tax cuts created asset bubbles. When the bubble burst in 2008, the whole world was left reeling”

Nawaz Sharif’s 10% Disaster Economics

Nawaz Sharif is so clueless about solving the economic situation in Pakistan that during an exclusive interview with Hamid Mir a few weeks back he proposes PML’s economic plan to hinge on a flat 10% tax rate.  It may honestly look tempting but the gravity of the statement further exposes how clueless PML-N is about solving Pakistans problems and is focused only on a marketing strategy to fool the people (and appease the rich) into believing that their experience in power will salvage this country.

So dastardly clueless is this plan that probably little does he know that next year we need $12 billion to survive in the following 12 months – $5 billion to finance the current account deficit and $7 billion to repay out debts (principal and interest), the following year it doubles to $24 Billion.  Giving tax breaks to the rich is again shooting Pakistan in the foot, PPP has looted this country to bankruptcy under the garb of corruption – Nawaz Sharif plans to help the rich siphon off money, while the poor can continue their curse of poverty

Nawaz Sharif’s Clueless Economic Plan for Pakistan

So utterly clueless is PML’s Economic plan, that it must be embarrassingly exposed. Nawaz Sharif in his interview to Hamid Mir said that he wants to REDUCE TAXES for the existing Tax payers in Pakistan from 35% to a minimum of 10%, with the “hope that it would inspire people” to pay more taxes,

Ironic is such a suggestion specially coming from an experienced politician like Nawaz Sharif whose party has effectively ruled Pakistan for approximately 18 years, is that, it positively shows that he has no clue what he might actually be suggesting, to suggest a reduction of taxes from an elite class of society that already eludes taxes means that the rich continue to get richer and the poor driven further into poverty

His vision would produce a country which would be a very harsh place to live for the poor and the middle classes which are easily around 90% of the country. It will also not work for those who are well off because with the social fabric frayed like it is, the ability of islands of prosperity to survive in a sea of desperation is very low indeed.

Its not just a casual remark about low tax rates, it is a totally different view of the world that leads to a country with a massive fiscal deficit, to easily say good bye to any hopes for rebuilding this nation

So clueless is Nawaz Sharif, that even after his party has intermittently ruled Pakistan for about 18 years, since 1981 when Nawaz Sharif first became the Finance Minister in Zia-ul-Haq era, he has still no idea of how to solve this economic crisis in Pakistan. This is just one example as to how ill prepared PML-N is even to this day.

Its truly your choice to distinguish what is good for Pakistan and what may actually be damaging if people select to vote for a clueless bunch of failed politicians from Raiwind ruin all over again, alternatively Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, to its credit, has presented FOUR visionary policies [Governance, Energy, Economy & Health] which shows the vision and a definite PLAN FOR A BETTER PAKISTAN.

Nawaz Sharif’s Corruption highlighted in Raymond Baker’s book on Dirty Money

Raymond Baker in his book Capitalism’s Achilles HeelDirty Money and How to Renew the Free-Market System tried to understand the dynamics of how dirty money works, in his book he elboarately covers the Corruption in Pakistan and takes a swing at both Benazir Bhutto & Nawaz Sharif to say [Credit @Aleem_Ashraf]

Corruption and criminality run from the top down, with the political class constantly looting the national treasury and distorting economic policy for personal gain. Bank loans are granted largely on the basis of status and connections. The rich stash much of their money abroad in those willing western coffers, while exhibiting little inclination to repay their rupee borrowings. Pakistan’s recent history has been dominated by two families—the Bhuttos and the Sharifs—both merely tolerated by the military, the real power in the country. When it comes to economic destruction, there’s not a lot of difference among the three.

PTI and the Establishment Ghost

Imran Khan PTIIm getting tired of hearing people accusing PTI of being supported by the “Establishment”.

In my opinion the word Establishment supported party is a word used to stigmatize any rising popular party, for lack of a better explanation as to why it has suddenly become popular, like PTI. People also can’t be blamed since in our past, history has repeatedly shown that popular leaders have had an establishment shadow overlooking their rise to power. But today here, we must understand that there is a genuine wave of frustration that has expressed itself into across the country support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Imran Khan

In our unfortunate country, which is inherently run by crooks from the likes of Asif Zardari Peoples Party and the “waiting-for-his-turn-to-loot-the-country” Nawaz Sharif, people are not stupid to let this country continue into their hands again

US and NATO imperialism in South Asia: The developing Pakistan Quagmire

After some nationalist and anti-imperialist elements succeeded in defeating the elaborate US and British plans to install two of their puppets- Parvez Musharraf and the late Benazir Bhutto-in the highest government offices in Pakistan, another puppet, Asif Ali Zardari, Benazir’s husband-also known as Mr. Ten Percent, because of his corruption and demanding and taking systematic bribes on contracts with national and international companies- during Benazir’s premiership, in which he was one of the members of her cabinet, managed to substitute both of them and has proven that he is a bigger puppet than both of them combined. Both he and his wife were methodically groomed for their roles by various organs and representatives of US imperialism.

During their government, they had stolen an estimated one and a half billion dollars from the poor people of Pakistan and had deposited those in foreign bank accounts. When numerous cases of fraud and corruption were filed against them in the Pakistani and foreign courts, they fled the country and lived abroad for years, in aristocratic and lavish life styles, when overwhelming majority of Pakistani people were suffering ever increasing levels of poverty and deprivation. It was only after an incredibly illegal, unjustifiable, and crooked deal with the Musharraf dictatorship, which was a desperate and reckless move to save itself against the rising tide of opposition-pushed and supervised by the representatives of US and British imperialism-in which all the corruption charges were dropped and the cases withdrawn, that they dared to return to Pakistan.
